- As for having coffee or tea during your fast - you should be just fine. As a general rule of thumb, if you drink something with less than 50 calories, then your body will remain in the fasted state.

Yes. Adding milk will break your fast. But you are the doctor lol - tell us
Nope, he's using coconut milk pure fat not gonna kick you out of fast 😐
@@wintersoldier2835 fat has calories, so fast is broken.
@@SandyToesStudio fat doesn't trigger insulin, go search it
@@wintersoldier2835 I didn't say it triggered an insulin response, I said it breaks a fast because your consuming calories.
@@SandyToesStudio well it doesn't break fast because fat doesn't trigger insulin, maybe you should learn more dude 😑😑🙈
I can’t drink my coffee black. And I can’t wait sometimes until my eating window to drink it the way I really like it. So I’ll have a cup of coffee with a teaspoon of heavy cream and 1 stevia. I’m hoping this won’t take me out of fat burning or ketosis.
Does it?
This is what I do as well and I’m still dropping fat like crazy. I’ve been doing a 23:1 intermediate fast for over a year and it’s never changed my results. I’ll periodically do a 3 or 4 day fast to shake things up so my body doesn’t get used to the routine which causes the results to lower. I do think that every body is different tho
Nothing like a little coffee with your milk 😂😂😂 I drink it black. ❤
Right? Dude has more milk than coffee😂
What’s wrong with you? 😂
I drink 2 cups of coffe w unsweetened almond milk while fasting for 18 hours… still works for me
That’s my creamer of choice, did you test your blood sugar? Curious to save me from all that research
@@scorpiochic2 no I haven’t 🤷♀️
I am doing 17 hr fast everyday.. I have done this before and lost weight very rapidly and although this time J am also loosing weight i’m definitely not loosing it as fast. Before I didn’t have any coffee now I am drinking coffee with sugar free syrup and milk with some whipping cream. So I would say it makes a difference
That much milk, yes. You are drinking milk with coffee.
I drink coffee with 2-3 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream instead. Great taste
Me too, 4 tbls in liter of coffee. Does this break the morning fast? Don't eat food till 11AM.
@@jeffcasey504 Same, cut off is nothing after 7pm usually sooner. You get the fat content without getting all scientific. It's not suppose to be some sort of rigid torture. Removing the carbs and sugar for the most part puts you in a good position.
The fat in your coffee in a glycogen depleted statewill convert to glucose through a gluconeogenesis pathway. This may stimulate an insulin response.
Strictly speaking, any number of calories that you consume will break your fast. It stands to reason because your body will prioritize all raw materials in your stomach that it can turn into energy to fuel its own engine, and only after all raw materials in your stomach have been utilized will your body start utilizing secondary material (aka stored fat) and turn that into energy.
Now, a little bit less strictly speaking, your body can and most likely will stay in a fasted state if the number of calories you consume are less than about 25. However, this caloric intake shouldn't happen more than once every 3-4 hours during your fasting period. That being said, the easiest and most efficient way to go about fasting is to simply not consume any calories whatsoever during your fasting period. Drink plenty of water and you'll be fine. Plus, once you get to your window where you eat food, the food you consume will be all the more delightful thanks to some major delayed gratification.
Needless to say, this whole process must become a routine cycle for you to see tangible results, not to mention the fact that accustoming yourself to actually enjoy it also takes time. Remember, if you don't enjoy it, you won't stick to it anyway. However, through practicing delayed gratification on a daily basis you will build some crazy level of discipline, and that discipline will yield self-respect, and that self-respect will yield self-confidence. It is an arduous process but it is one that pays off tenfold or maybe even a hundredfold in the long run.
Yes.
During fasting it's better to drink plain water only .. it's good for our whole body system 😇
Yes it is
We should be drinking water all day long
Hi, I do drink coffee ☕️ and I use a little cream
Coffee with heavy cream in the am and I fast until 3pm
When do you close your eating window?
Thank you 🙏 ❤ I can’t drink black coffee anymore because it’s acidic
Lol I do that and stop eatting at 8.30pm to 3 pm
@@cryptofinders6377did you still have good results with doing it that way? I want to do the same
Does it still work? I can’t skip my milk with coffee
I am doing intermittent fasting and I drink my coffee with heavy whip cream in the morning and fast until lunch time 👍
Yes, coffee! With coconut creamer! Wouldn't fast if I couldn't have that one cup a day.
Anything u take during your intermittent fasting which contains calorie breaks your fasting. Anything more than 20 calorie that is. Since digestive system will react and store glucose, fat and other essential nutrients from coconut/milk and coffee. Fasting is done to calm the digestive system and to allow the liver to break stored surplus fat. Also Ketosis and other processes starts occuring.
Coffee with heavy cream. Can skip the sugar but not the cream 🐮☕️❤
A bit of coconut oil and a splash of unsweetened hazelnut milk. Then I foam it up.
I use almond milk. Can’t go without coffee too!!haha
I never thought I could do black coffee but… I have!! Once you get accustomed to it… boom! You’re Good to go!!❤
I use half and half and stevia. I just haven’t gotten to the point of being able to drink black coffee.
same lol
Switch the half & half with just heavy cream amd you're good.
I add a little salt to the coffee.
When I'm intermittent fasting, when I am hungry I drink just full cream milk, when I test my sugar on morning it's below 90.
I've switched to green tea in the morning coffee in the afternoon with oat milk
A little milk in coffee isnt a lot of carbs or calories so how long will the fast be affected though?
Splash of low calories milk will not break your fast. But splash is just a tiny bit , maybe 1 table spoon.
My app Simple says I can have coffee with a splash of milk and it’s not breaking the fast. I use a mix of half and half with a little bit of flavored creamer (2gm carb.). And drink 2 cups. My eating window is 12-6 pm.
I make a latte w/ nonfat milk & eat my 1st meal around 1000 & 6. Often wondered if the milk screws up the fast
Yes. Even coffee is debatable depending on what strand
I do fast but I don't drink coffee. Water with lemon 🍋 is my go to. Sometimes tea 🍵
Today will be my first time IF and as I'm typing this I'm having my morning coffee without any milk or sugar and after sipping on my coffee a couple of times I realized that it doesn't taste that bad at all bit it will be something which I'm gonna have to get used to when I start IF frequently
Coffee with almond milk and stevia (sometimes cocnut). Maybe the intermittent fasting doesn't work quite as well, but coffee with something in it is necessary. It seems to work pretty well though. Although, I don't put as much as you did.
What about bulletproof coffee during fasting? I know, calories break fast, but does fat simulate fasting and could be ok?
I want to start fasting, but I can't give up a creamer in coffee. No sugar. Please tell me if heavy cream or even unsweetened almond milk will break the fast, I like a little oat milk mixed with the almond milk, but I know it has some oils in it.
Sometimes I put a little bit off milk . I started my fasting at 7 to 7:30 pm is that ok?
I use dry creamer, Splenda and cinnamon here in the Philippines.
Stevia is much better if you can get it especially the green stevia
Craving coffee big time after seeing this!! Lol…but yeah, I would NOT intermittent fast if I had to give up coffee with a little oat milk in the a.m. Thinking I should switch to coconut cream though.
I'm doing the time-restricted eating, but drinking tea / coffee. No milk though, not my choice
The 16/8 method fits with my lifestyle; coffee at 9am with lots of skim milk, then yogurt and fruit. Then main meal between 2 and 4. But I guess I do cheat if I have coffee in the evening, as I use as much milk as you. But usually have herbal tea in the evening.
I do exactly the same, coffee and yoghurt, but mainly coffee and I don't eat till after three, I am diabetic so I need either a banana or yoghurt about mid morning..
If you're using skim milk that's not helping at all you need heavy cream skim milk is not keto
@@lynnedroach1did you know bananas have practically no potassium and very high in sugar after eating a banana check your sugar
The other day i broke a 24 hour fast with coffee and milk, i felt so nauseous and off, i was so worried that i went to urgent care. Wondering if its connected
You broke the fasting lol 😝
Black coffee, alternate with plain jasmine green tea.
I’m sure I’m blowing it. I use unsweetened almond milk, unflavored whey protein powder, a combo of stevia and erythrotal (totally misspelled 😊), collagen powder, and a tiny bit of sunflower lecithin. Blend it all in blender for a homemade starbucks coffee. I used to also add mct oil until I learned it breaks my fast for sure.
Whey protein isolate is high on the insulin index. Not sure if you mind. Passing on info.
The combo does sound nice however.
Thats all like 200kcal 😢
A splash of high protein low carb milk ( about 2g of carbs) in a French Press coffee with a spoon of stevia. I do not consider this to break my fast, and it sees me through until lunch. Cheers.
30cal coffee 10cal from coffeemate, 16cal from sugar, 4 from coffee. Will it break my fast
I usually don’t drink coffee but when I do if it’s before 12 I drink it black
Try to not have coffee because I get headaches soon enough. I try to drink a little ACV because I have digeation problems ( bloating, heartburn, etc). If milk qith coffee, I think so because milk does have sugar. Yes ?
Hi yes I drink coffee but I didn’t get it back
I always drink black coffee in the morning and I don’t consider that breaking a fast. That’s like saying drinking water is breaking a fast.
Irish Butter and Pink Himalayan Salt
Good choice!
Black coffee only will keep the fast during the fasting window.
Is it still breaking your fast if even though you add milk to your coffee, but you are a lactating mother and excreting more milk out than you consume.
(The baby is not fasting)
I drink it black during my fast. I prefer having creamer but it has calories so I skip that in the morning. If I’m fasting I might as well do it right.
I drink coffee with creamer and sugar within an hour after waking up but then i try to do omad around 7 or 8pm at night.
yes, and yes but not by much
got a CGM but not sure how to meal plan for 2 weeks to test how my biome and body react...
I’m starting to feel that as long as you count your calories and liquid diet in the fasting window, you’ll still get great results. It’s more about over writing your old hunger cues first.
I drink very strong Coffee with milk, or oat milk. No sweetener. I have that around 11 AM and then eat dinner between 7 PM and 9 PM. It may not be 100% but I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for almost 5 years. Sometimes I have to switch it up for special meals etc. but I try to monitor my total caloric intake and carbs. I eat very little meat.
Black. I am not fasting at the moment, but when I did I got used to it and I actually don’t mind it at all anymore. :-).
For me it wasn’t the calories that broke the fast, but it made my stomach grumble and made me hungrier before lunch. I hated feeling hungry which is why I never ate breakfast until my 40s. When I started eating breakfast is when I started gaining weight. So I stopped. And that included anything else that made my stomach growl and gave me the shakes.
I add powder cream coffee mate,is 10 calories 3/4 tsp
Thank you ที่เพิ่นๆมาต้อนรับมากมาย
Black coffee during fasting - I have always had my coffee black - and occasionally a latté to open or close my eating window.
Coffee: fresh grind of not dark roasted, sweetened with Stevia / Monk fruit, and a few tablespoons of whole milk.
Coffee with mushroom blend powder little bit of raw coco powder, no milk, no sugar.
Mostly Black dandelion coffee/tea…. Except for the weekends when I have decaf coffee with oat milk .. made for me by someone 😉
I believe oat milk to be poison
Black ☕️ coffee in the morning 🌄 for me.
once you add anything to black coffee you are actually dilluting it
...technically yes u are breaking the fast ...however...it depends on what your trying to do
boxer/UFC fighter/yoga/secret agent: *black coffee only*
night shift job: *creamer fine*
...it all depends
__extra pro tip: sugar = bad
I have nightshift job
Black tea or coffee in the morning only
People say it will break the fast..but I consider it to be neglijable in regards to the insulin spike....so I don t. I drjnk my coffee in the mornin with just a bit of milk and/or cream and i go 48h with no food😌🥳
Black coffee entire fast. Wouldn't add anything even if someone told me it was OK. Am used to black coffee now 😊
Sweets have a tendency to make you want to eat.
Yes....yes I do. But I drink it close to my eating time. I know I'm not suppose to use creamer, I just can't drink it without. BUT...I never drink the full cup. Just the ritual of brewing, pouring, smelling the aroma a d a few sips does it for me. Yes, unfortunately the fast is broken.
Black Coffee and bitter teas are fine. Milk and creamers will break a fast. I drink mine black. I also drink green tea or Olong tea. Or I have some hot water with a dash of cinnamon. You can also add a dash of cinnamon to your black coffee to keep your fast clean. That's what I've learnt. ❤ Good luck on ur fasting journey everyone. 😊
Heavy cream wont
Of cause this breaks the fasting
Its enough I go without food for 20/24 hours I need my coffee in the morning, I put one scoop of college powder ,2 teaspoons of brown sugar and a small amount of soy milk. Still losing weight coz my calories are greatly restrict my to what I would normally eat during a normal non fasting day plus I stop eating by 6.30 pm
The only thing for me is that he’s not drinking coffee with coconut milk but it looks like he’s drinking coconut milk with coffee. That’s a lot of milk.
Block coffee ☕️ with stevia
I put a splash of Lucerne salted caramel flavor creamer in my coffee. I don't think it's breaking my fast either.
That’s coconut milk with coffee lol 😆
I tried the coconut milk and it is gross.
Hate milk in coffee but like heavy cream No i suffer until 1pm to drink coffee with cream n stevia to break fast
How dare you ask the question when you did it already😂 I'm still trying to start my intermittent fasting😊
Of course, fasting means no calories intake. Plain coffee has no calories. I'm not a doctor, but it's logical if you put sugar/honey/butter/milk on it, it won't be a no calories coffee.
His lip color 🤩. Mine won't look like this even with lipstick 😂
I am doing 12-8 pm window. I start work at 9 am, i drink coffee with mill and that is it. Can't without. 😅
Yes
Adding milk and sugar will break fast..
You can have coffee without milk and sugar and it won't break fast..
Dude drinks half coffee half milk lol
Literally anything, even water, breaks a fast. Sorry about it but your body is smarter than your ‘rules’
Black tea or green tea with nothing added😊
I drink my coffee black. I love it. My husband says I like my coffee to match my soul - dark and earthy. LOL I also drink hot, black tea in the morning. Nothing added as well.
I start fasting earlier so I can have milk in my coffee🤣
Yes I put a teaspoon of guee and grass fed butter
Or I put in a splash of full whipping cream
I don’t ever use milk
Milk yes but heavy cream negligible
yes
Depends on your reasoning for fast. Personally, when doing a BIBLICAL (spiritual) fasting anything that alters the natural state of body during a fast is a NO. Coffee is breaking fast in my opinion also of course milk, veggie smoothies etc. when doing a biblical fast, I recommend only water UNLESS you are doing a dry fast (no food, no water). That is true fasting. But if people are fasting just for dietary purposes… maybe coffee wouldn’t be bad I guess. I can’t imagine starving (in a diet fast) while my heart is pounding because of caffeine. Doesn’t seem like fun but everyone’s different 🤍🙏🏼🤓
Coffee with C8 and C10 MCT oil and a little stevia
Dr Mike , coconut milk can raise cholesterol and triglycerides levels, if your not active person, but Coconut milk has hydrating properties because of the electrolytes and healthy fats to aid digestion -it’s a conditioner…, but the coffee also has low LDL and triglycerides, paper filtered coffee is better,..I would drink mint tea ,..I think you used coconut milk for it’s healthy fats….technically you are
Coffee with half and half…
I drink coffee black with one equal. I can’t help it I need it
I put a tablespoon of half and half, and sometimes even a sugar free flavored syrup! Still losing weight, no issues! Boy, I feel like such a rebel! 😂 Edited to add that I do 20/4 and sometimes OMAD.
I have no idea what you are talking about 🤣 But if it works for you and you are losing weight that needs lost...Good job!
Not a doctor or giving advise.
From what I understand our body's metabolism is so perfect, that if we get even 1 calorie it drops us out of burning fat for fuel and sends us out of fasting mode. The body goes back to utilizing glucose.
He's using coconut milk, pure fat not gonna kick you out of fasting 😐😐
Personally for me? Liquids = fasting (NOT including "thick" liquids like milkshakes or smoothies)
