I really love how you’ve added the additional aluminum details to the tube. That’s the one thing I really don’t like about the Aqualu tubs. You guys rock!

@@procruiser I am considering one of these tubs for my FJ40 project. For the 'tongue depressors' did you plug weld those on -I don't see weld beads along them at all.

I love how you added the aluminum "tongue depressor shaped" strips. I don't know what it looks like without but it would not look right without them.

Thanks! Yes, without them, they are pretty plain looking.

I'm highly impressed with your work. You take a basic utilitarian vehicle and far exceed anything Toyota ever made. Has Toyota ever contacted you to thank you for keeping their vehicles on the road? Also, have any people from Japan ever bought your vehicles? Thanks.

Thank you very much! I'd love to hear from Toyota actually. We are not only dedicated to their product, but we try to run our business using their methodologies and systems as well. So far however, our involvement with them has been very limited. Hopefully that changes someday!

    LOVE the wheels!
Here’s a “STOP IT” … stop those dumb snorkels! Ask the owner if they are REALLY going into the water? Guarantee 95% of them aren’t and it looks DUMB for those pretending to be doing so. Like all of those other “mods” people don’t need or think is cool.

I agree with you almost 100 percent. I also believe lots of the modifications people do to their vehicles are unnecessary and sometimes ugly. I'll argue with you on this particular snorkel though. First of all, this Land Cruiser is a diesel so it actually can run underwater. The owner lives in an area highly affected by hurricanes, so needing the snorkel actually seems like a possibility one day. But there's more. The Cummins R2.8 makes a lot of turbo noise. In an FJ40 without much firewall insulation, it can get pretty loud inside the cab. The snorkel really cuts down on that in cab whistling. Lastly, and you'll hear this argument the most, a snorkel is actually a very effective cold air intake. Moving the intake outside and up both lets the engine process cooler air, but sometimes cleaner air as well.
Here is where I agree with you. Lots of snorkels are way too big and bulky for the model they are being used on. 80 series safari snorkels are the worst offender IMO. Plus, in the US,, most 80s are gas anyway. In that case, I would have told the customer that I didn't recommend a snorkel and only installed one if they insisted on it. (which has happened)
