    Where was the high quality render?

    With regard to windows, I have figured out a method that would most effectively give off "realistic" transparency. Here is what I have done to make this work:
    1: In Material Properties, set the Metallic to 2.0
    2: Set the Roughness to about 0.65
    3: Set the Alpha to 0.75
    4: In the Settings Tab in Material Properties, set Blend Mode to "Alpha Blend", and Shadow Mode to "none"
    This should yield the result of some sort of transparency in the windows.

      good one, but I found out another one that also works
      this one works for me: I changed the Surface to Transparent BSDF
      then loaded the texture for the windows and it worked

      J Bernfinger how were you able to load the windows I did the transparent but it won’t let me load the windows

      @@DDogDan well in the setting I put the Blend mode in Alpha blend and the shadow in Alpha clip, the texture needs to have a whitish background in order to work and it needs to be in the image texture option, although with glass i could do it as well: What i had to do was in Screen space reflections activate refraction and in the glass with the image texture do the same with transparent but activate Screen space refractions as well

    Hey, so I have a question. I'm trying to have the metallic stuff on the bottom and i set it to glossy, and i cant do anything with metallicbecause it doesnt show up but roughness changes nothing

    Thanks--this is great! I have a ton of paint schemes I'd like to render but don't want to ask for a ton at once on Stunod and figured I should try this. Using the Cup90 mod and found x files and converted them, unfortunately the textures weren't with those files. Did find some 3ds max pieces for everything else and they all work except for the wheels (tires are fine though) so will play around with that image to see if I can get it to work with the wheels. After that I'll join the quest to find a way to make the windows transparent.

      Glad it's going well so far! Yeah I'm realizing now, I think some mods use the game's default textures for a lot of assets so yeah you'd need to download them elsewhere. Also someone already found a solution for the windows, so I'll let you know once I try it and you can see if it works for cup90

    I tried to change my mustang's card.bmp file from the generic mustang to my design by exporting that scheme as card.bmp and replacing the one in the carviewer and now it's just showing up as pink any idea how to fix this problem?

    • @GeorgeAustria
      @GeorgeAustria  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      See the other comment threads where people have the same issue. The way people have been getting it to work is trying a different format like png, and loading it to the car by the process in 3:18 in my video.
      Still not sure why it's happening in the first place

    I don't know if you are still replying to comments on this vid, but I tried this with the gen6 mod and when I import the obj to blender, it has no textures so I can't pit the scheme on it. Any idea what's wrong?

  • @sprintracer9279
    @sprintracer9279 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    how would i change it from its base paint to my paint? every time i try to import my scheme as a image texture it just makes it a flat bright pink.

    • @GeorgeAustria
      @GeorgeAustria  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's odd, pink usually means there's an error with blender being able to access the file you're telling it to access. If you're trying to use the instructions at 3:17 to change the paint scheme that should work, but I usually do it how you'd do it with carviewer: I just change the card.bmp file in the carviewer folder to the one I want to use.
      You can also try closing and reopening your project, or maybe make sure your image is bmp?

      Same process as shown in this tutorial. Just instead of opening carviewer you open your blender project. Make sure after you replace card.bmp you close and open blender again so the texture refreshes.
