Indeed, and Im PRETTY SURE Yen Sid knew what he needed to tell Sora, but if he did that, the whole game never would have happened as it was one long quest in Sora reawakening his Power of Waking, when it was there all along.

I want to say its different for Ven and Roxas, only reason i say that is. If Ven lost his heart and gave it to Sora, then Sora losing his heart becoming a heartless makes Roxas. Sora and Roxas are just backwards versions of Ven and Van. Same faces different roles. A slick way to show that Sora wasnt just some mistake picking keyblade user.
You forgot that this is not first time Sora saw Ven. That was at dream drop distance. Sure this is the first first they meet but Sora already knew how he look.
KH really drops the ball for their female characters. Aqua is such a strong badass “you’ve seen me too weak too often, it’s my time to shine” then you win as her and she’s about to die 5 seconds later. Then don’t get me started on Kairi...

"You are.... Sora?" DUDE! You've been staring down at Sora's heart for 10 years and never realized that he looks like Vanitas? In DDD you even put Sora in your armour and gently lowered him on his heart. I'm sorry Nomura, but I was expecting that reaction for Roxas, not Sora.
However, kudos to the animators. Ventus' expressions in 10:22 are on point. They feel real. In fact, Ventu's reactions to pretty much everything are the most realistic ones in this game. Everyone else is like a freaking statue.

This. Funny how her barrier works perfectly fine in gameplay, yet here she doesn't even ATTEMPT to block with so much as her Keyblade (even opening up her arms)! Just....why? That's less because she was weak, and more because of forced writing giving her the short end of the stick at every moment in this game.
More like smt random happend and she doesnt knew how to act properly.. Sora did the same while shielding Kairi, not enough self esteem
@@nekuja4426 So she didn't expect Vanitas (or Sora by extension) to attack the barrier specifically put up to keep Vanitas in and Sora out? How does the barrier crack when Vanitas attacks it in the first place when it was able to keep SDG out the entire fight (including after she got knocked down)? She's fighting to protect Ventus first and foremost, anyone would have logically expected her to consider the possibility of the second line of defense being struck when you're having a *battle* within it (and again, it wasn't phased for the entirety of the gameplay segment of the fight, nor was Sora able to phase it at any point either).
All I'm saying is aqua is the wisdom form mastered all day granted van and ven both train under xehanort meaning maybe there master however aqua is branded master and technically terra is a master too but xehanort robed him out of a future mentally an physically and quite literally.😄😅
Everyone was upset with this but I just saw this as aqua being her selfless-self. Putting ven above herself, and she was now being rewarded as Sora and ventus save her together.

@@daddyike5676 Vanitas would have died if the previously unphasable barrier (that managed to keep SDG out even *after* Aqua was knocked down) didn't suddenly break at Vanitas'... Er, I mean the plot's request. Vanitas would have died if the plot didn't prevent Aqua acting after seeing Vanitas use his first firaga burst instead of just standing there idly (much like what happened with Terranort, and the poor execution of that scene is laughable), or stop her from using her barrier rather than welcoming the flames with open arms. Vanitas would have died if he didn't turn into such a dishonorable wuss with zero pride (and I obviously mean the stunt he pulled here, which proved nothing other than that he was losing).

Some people are complaining that Aqua shouldn't need to be saved in this scene while I am unbothered. I thought it was justified why she needed to be saved in this scene. Just like what Sora said, she hasn't recovered yet.
I mean, this scene was so epic that I wasn't even bothered. I was crying so much when Ventus was finally awake!
I agree she kinda went a bit of a 'badass decay' in this game but I still thought she was a badass regardlessly. Besides, Kairi is the guilty one for that. (I blame Tetsuya Nomura for that...)
She got zero victories this game. She literally doesn't even TRY to block or use her barrier ( despite that she could use it freely in gameplay throughout this whole fight) which isn't justifiably excused by her simply being fatigued. She contributed *nothing* to the plot beyond restoring the LoD. She conveniently lost her Keyblade off screen (which isn't even explained) because the writers couldn't come up with a reason for her to lose to Ansem SoD, and so that Sora (not Riku or Mickey) could come save her.
The point is they were actively stripping her of any level of spotlight or shine this whole game. And for what? Her beating Vanitas would've been a great moment for her character and actually allowed her to protect at least ONE person in this game, but she didn't (even though she *was* winning, otherwise Vanitas wouldn't have done what he did). What was gained from that? 5 second drama that amounted to Ventus waking up (which would've happened anyway), and... Nothing. Vanitas just runs away after admitting that they had him beat, and after that stunt, proved he had no dignity or grace to walk away when he was outmatched (like he did in BBS).
She gets turned into anti aqua, spouts literal lies for a good 3 minutes, tries to kill the *very* people she JUST told Ansem would come to rescue her, and that all gets dissmised. Her diologue to Riku and Mickey later on contradicts and disproves everything she said as Anti Aqua (making the whole plotline pointless). Nothing was gained. They just wanted to keep her out of the plot so the two Keyblade Masters who were actually equipped to save her, would fail and *Sora* (who didn't even remember her) could come in to save the day. And this was the excuse we're supposed to buy for her loss here? Even though it meant litterally NOTHING.
@@DLxxx Now that I read this essay, what do I respond? STILL not bothered. I still think she's a badass after watching the cutscenes multiple times. (Other than a few scenes, I wasn't bothered at all.) You have your own opinion of what you think of her here and I have mine.

Don't get me wrong, I love Aqua (even after the many questionable writing choices they made in this game), I just feel like it harms the overall image of the character and what her arc represents. I want to, but I sadly just can't look past the way she was treated in this game long enough to really appreciate her resolution. It just doesn't feel fair that such a great character got the short end of the stick at *every* turn in the finale of the whole saga (most of that shine somehow went to Sora), and nothing was really added to her as a character because of it. It just, sucks...

I banned myself from youtube for about 2 weeks. And got the extension blocking the word Kingdom and Keyblade.
One last thing: it's fitting how Ven saves her from Vanitas, it's a throwback to their first fight in the Keyblade Graveyard.

I hate how the nerfed all of the side characters to make Sora shine in every freakin battle. Like it would have been ok if Aqua took care of Vanitas herself. No need to make her a tool

You know there’s another reason why Aqua can’t beat Vanitas, besides exhaustion
The downside of Anti-Aqua, her pseudo-Heartless, being destroyed is that it purged Aqua of Darkness
Although Aqua is dominantly Light, Darkness is still a part of her heart. Having it exorcised from her, especially when Anti-Aqua possessed her, would weaken Aqua
It’s same reason why Riku actually was weaker in KH 2
Before he had both the Keyblade and Ansem’s Power, after the light of the fake Kingdom Hearts, purged Riku of Ansem, he was weaker. He can no longer use Dark Corridors, and whatever power level he had before, decreased. He still was a help to Sora in final fight, but it was a good opportunity to nerf him for his future DDD adventure
So now Aqua’s power was reduced and she needed more time to rebuild her lost strength, the strength she had when she took on Terranort a decade ago. So it’s why she can’t win against Vanitas
I hope they make Aqua stronger like before in KH 4, I mean, even Kairi wants to train with her
Wait if Ventus and Vanitas fight won’t they form the X blade or am I missing something
I believe that's when Ventus' heart was incomplete and neither was Vanitas'. The two hearts that were one in the same were clashing and that pure light vs pure dark is what forged the x-blade. In this scene Ventus' heart is complete again which is why he is able to wake up. So because of that I dont think it would have created another x-blade.

@@Shadowkiller-dq2ju I know in Monstropolis he said that all the fear and sadness from the screams they would collect slowly resurrected him. Idk if that would mean he still is associated with Ventus' heart as he was before. That's a pretty good question!

This whole thing kinda makes no sense and ruined the game for me. Sora is supposed to be this powerful hero but he couldn't save Aqua? He shows up to save 2 keyblade masters Riku and Mickey, that didn't make any sense either because they're the masters not him. And in this video we see him wake up Ventus to save Aqua (another master) but he couldn't do it himself. That tells me Ven is more powerful than Sora and Ven should of taken over as main character to take on Xenort.
The way Vanitas called Ven by that nickname Venty-Wenty,almost sounded like he was playfully teasing him,,weirdly cute if you ask me.
