    Don't ever assume because a competitor runs add for long time that means it working. I have done close to 200 forensic looks at META campaigns and in all but one case the waste was between 20% - 80% so following sometimes is not a good idea. You want to test an ad that looks like there's fine, but don't assume it works. The idea on looking at adjacent industries is a best practice for sure.

    Question for custom audience
    Would it better to keep running a cold audience campaign with a custom audience to keep the custom audience constantly updating or does the custom audience update by itself? Especially if you pick detailed targeting with it?

    Hi Ben! It's just great how much value you can put in your every single video.
    I would have a question, if you can answer, that would be very appreciated. So, for example, if my ad set or ads don't work very well, should i pause them, modify and then start them again or should i pause them, create new ones and then go with those ?
    Thank you very much.

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a lot. I would go for option 2 there. You want to run new versions when you change stuff - that way you can assess which performed best and look at the relevant data.

      @@BenHeath Thank you! And i would like to ask one more thing, because actually i don't find any answer and i'm looking for it for hours.
      I'm running a campaign with objective being conversions and conversion event being purchase. I don't know how good it is because my goal is this one - when people see my ad, i want them to press on CTA button 'whatsapp' which would take them into my site on a landing page that gives the chance to start a chat on whatsapp with me. I want to clariy that is not exactly a landing page, is actually the page it opens when you press that WhatsApp widget button on the first page of site. Returning to the main idea, in this campaign i used 4 ad sets with one audience on each , with 5 ads, 4 images and one video. I don't know why but my images have barely all together 150 reach in one day, while the video has in one ad set 3500 reach and in another 2000, and in the rest of 2 ad sets has more than 500 reach in one day. What do you recommand me to do ? Should i change the goal ? Like people going to site to products instead of going to my whatsapp ? Or if i should leave the same goal with whatsapp, what should i change ?
      Thank you so much, if you would find some time to help me with this, i will be forever grateful.

    • @motofinessementoring
      @motofinessementoring 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cunek1557 I'm obviously not the expert you were asking, but maybe I can tell you my thoughts about that anyway. That the videos perform better than regular images might just be normal as people get caught way easier by videos. Let Facebook work that out over time and see which creative actually works best. Did you try Carousel too? Can work well with product portfolios.
      About the WhatsApp issue: I would recommend to lead people to your website where they can see the actual product they were interested in. People probably don't have specific questions about it in the first place. Maybe try to put the WhatsApp Button somewhere on the website so that people can easily reach out to you if they need help, but still see the products they should buy in the end. Your conversion event needs to be set on the "order successful" page obviously if that is what you are looking for.
      Hope that helps with your questions!

    Hi Ben. I hope I can get your advice on this, I've been running a conversion campaign for months already and was able to get out of learning phase. Also, whenever I duplicate it, the campaign is always converting but not until recently. JUst a few days ago, I duplicated the same campaign but it was not converting at all and my website visitors are so low. It was so sudden, I don't know what happened. I also haven't made any changes to it. Can you tell if this is normal?

    Where does the 2.5 frequency rule come from? I’ve heard you say this before, but I’ve always heard it’s better to have a frequency between 3-5x in a month, especially for a brand awareness campaign for a small local audience. Often, you talk about conversion campaigns on this channel for bigger brands but not much about brand awareness campaigns for small local markets. Could you touch on this in the future? Specifically tips for gaining mindshare and best ways to dominate a local market for a small local business? Love your channel...thanks!

    Hi Ben, great content! I’ve noticed a few competitors only show a handful of ads on the library; all from this year. They have been around for much longer and surely advertising using FB ads before then. I like your 6 month tip but obviously not useful in this instance. Why is this happening?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hannah - you'll only see ads there that are still live now. If an ad was launched a year ago but has been turned off since then you won't see it. When you run into that scenario, I would try and find other competitors.

    is it possible not ever to get out of learning phase unless you increase your budget (mine is $50/day)? I got 7 purchases in the first week. Do I need to get 50 purchases in a week? How long will it take?

  • @jhonsanchezv

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. We usually see the campaign drop off in performance when you reach that frequency over the ad lifetime (when targeting cold audiences) so it’s about that time that we need to introduce new ad creative, no matter how long it takes.

    Hi Ben! Thanks a lot for your videos. I have a question about how quickly ads enter into learning phase. I have a "7 day click or 1 day view" attribution setting ad running on its day 3. It has now 35 results, and it'll have 50 results today for sure, by the end of day. Despite this, it already entered "learning limited" (which it will likely get out of tomorrow). Why do you think this happens and Facebook doesn't give it enough days before it classifies it as "learning limited". Thanks in advance.

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That does happen fairly often and I honestly couldn't say why. The good news is that you are likely to come out of the learning phase soon. To me it seems that the learning phase is not an exact science from Facebook's point of view.

    Hi Ben! First off, thank you for such brilliant and powerful content. I'm definitely subscribed! :)
    Now I have a question that I imagine many people may face.
    We have ~220k emails from our email subscriber list. However, we had to split the list into 5 lists of ~45k emails to create 5 lookalike audiences of 1%. Each lookalike audience is set at 1% of the U.S.
    In our CBO, we're running a conversion campaign with 5 ad sets for each of our lookalike audiences. Each ad set only targets women, which further narrows the potential audience size to between 2M and 2.3M. Note, FB says that we have roughly 45% audience overlap between the 5 ad sets.
    Facebook gives us a warning that "your campaign's ad set may get zero purchases." Further mentioning that "based on how you set up this ad set, we recommend increasing the audience size or the budget."
    What do you suggest we do? Increase each lookalike audience size to 2%, given that I'm only targeting women or keep it at 1%? Should we combine ad sets, that are each targeting a different lookalike audience, as Facebook suggests?
    P.S. My campaign and ad sets are still in the learning phase.
    Thank you!! :)

    • @PrecisionSeniorMarketing
      @PrecisionSeniorMarketing 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Since your email list is very targeted already, maybe just create a Lookalike from one of those 5 custom audiences. Even though there are 5 lists, it's still just one audience group. Probably why you're getting overlap. I have the exact same problem. Small niche audience from a list of 220k and just starting with FB Ads.. I asked a similar question, hoping to get a reply. Good luck
