After the ios 14, i was wondering if retargeting to websitevisitors will track most visitors?
I would think since an indicator if somebody visits the website can be tracked through the facebook platform when somebody clicks an ad (or somebody clicking a button link) facebook would know that this person goes to the website right?
So pixel data would be unecessary, since fb can track prior to actually visiting the website that a link on an ad has been clicked and therefore becomes part of the retargeting custom audience. Am i right or wrong?
Hi Kojo, that depends on what type of custom audience you create to retarget. A website visitor custom audience will not contain those people. I know it would make sense for that to be the case but it isn't.
However, a Facebook Page engagement custom audience that includes people who have interacted with your ads will. If you create one of those then you are all good :)

Hi Ben, thank you for addressing this change. Do you still recommend the same campaign structure with retargeting as one of the adsets along with other cold audience adsets using CBO? Also, is it worth testing retargeting with and without our sources (and how do recommend doing this) or are you suggesting that we should just make sure we are retargeting all of our sources and meta's sources in the retargeting adset?

FB needs to give us the ability to create adiences based on interaction (Link clicks, likes, shares, etc) for SPECIFIC posts! I am shocked they haven't included this since the iOS update smh.

Hi Ben, great video. I usually keep my audiences the same across ad sets but change the content as I'm curious to see what type of picture performs best. Would you consider this a mistake? Will ad sets compete against each other and potentially cause ad fatigue? Thanks!
what ad budget would you recommend for a retargeting campaign? Let's say the audience size is around 2k-3k people (from video views, open form, etc)

Hello Ben, great video as usual! Quick question though: do these custom audiences include leads that have already filled the form? For example; people that filled the form likely watched 25% or more of the ad, so would that mean that those people will be retargeted too? If they are, is there any way to avoid retargeting them? Love your videos Ben! Quick question: I'm starting a business making Catholic films. As you probably know, Facebook completely removed all targeting based on religion (and all related keywords) earlier this year. And I mean everything. Celebrities, interests, etc, all gone! Any advice how to tackle this starting from scratch?
He did a video on this 6 months ago. The people who would have fallen into these interests still have other interests. Find them by targeting them with their other interests.....example: someone who is catholic still has an interest in property development.

Great video again Ben - if I was to upload a list of ManyChat contacts, would Facebook more accurately match them as they are contacts who have interacted via Facebook messenger and are therefore technically still on the platform?
So once your audiences are created and you're looking to add them into an ad set. Do you create a new campaign or do you add the retargeting list audiences to an existing campaign? If you do add to an existing campaign, how do you control the ad spend on your retargeting if you are using CBO instead of ABO?

the thing that nobody shows is the source campaign type that collects those audiences is it a video views campaign and than you take those who watched and transfer them to a conversion campaign ? but what if the audience that watched isnt optimized for conversion since its a video views campaign

Would we need to make the custom audience again say after 2 months - using the same videos, or running videos on cold audience ads - to include the 2 months that have passed, or does the retention period updates to "current date" itself?

Yes I believe it does and we have been using more Meta sources as source audiences for lookalikes.

Would you still run a targeted outbound campaign first, then run the lead form in a retargeting campaign or just go straight in with a lead form from day 1.
I feel informing and introducing people to the service first, then retargeting any engagers with testimonials + the lead form could be an effective strategy.
Which do you think would have better results and have you tried both?
It really depends what your offer is. If we are able to use a free consultation for example then we will test both approaches and see which works best.
Can you create an audience on TH-cam - video watchers - (and is there a size requirement) - then retarget on Google Display network?
Do people who interact with your ads count toward the facebook page audience? For example if I run an ad targeting a wide geographical area, and then i run a retargeting ad with the "facebook page" interaction selected, will it target those people who interacted with my original ad? Or are ads considered different from your page?
Thanks for the video! I know you can retarget website visits. But can you retarget specific landing pages on your website for different services? Example: If someone googles massage therapy and goes to the massage therapy page, they aren't being served a retargeted physiotherapy appointment?
Yes you can, you can create custom audiences from people that visit specific webpages.

Yes you certainly want to get the pixel set up. You can retarget using Meta sources without it, but why not have all the options

Hi Ben! Let’s say I have a retargeting ad running along with a brand awareness ad. After a few days of turning on the retargeting on do I have to off it and repopulate a new retargeting audience? What do you reckon?
No I would just make sure that those ads don't fatigue too much before you swap them in for others.

It will only show to those audiences, provided you have advantage custom audience turned off.

I would usually create a warm audience Ad set as part of a larger campaign

Why would my ROAS be steadily dropping when retargeting? My cold interest are outperforming the retargeting and I am using the same ads/copy across all ad sets. Any insight or suggestions?
Have you burnt out the retargeting audience? I would check your frequency numbers.

I’m in real estate and whenever I go to select the videos I want to use to create my custom audience, the number of views is much much lower or even non existent compared to what the analytics show on the actual video view campaign. Any idea why that is?
Hi Sam, are you selecting a higher percentage of the video watched? There will be less people that have made it that far that the default Facebook shows for campaign results.
@@BenHeath no it’s super weird. I’m the campaign it literally says like “500 thru plays” but then when I select the video/campaign on the custom audience page it shows only like 14. I know the audience page just shows 3 sec views, but if I have 500 thru plays it should at least show that much I would think. It’s so weird…and frustrating haha

Meta can track anything that occurs within Meta apps. iOS 14 was all about what can happen after users leave an app

I do not believe in Audience retargeting. My point is, if someone finds value in your product or service, they would normally do the needful (on first sight).
I understand the theory there, but that's not how it works in real life. Your prospects are way less focused on your brand than people typically think they are.

Yea that’s right because this video is about retargeting. You use custom audiences for that, not lookalike audiences. Lookalike audiences are cold audiences - a very different thing

I read on a website that if it's under 2000, you can advertise for $5 a day, if it's under 5000, then you have to advertise for $10, and what if it's under 10,000? or under 15,000? / 20$ under 10,000, 25$ under 15,000? 2 cbo remarketing is set, gallery advertisement with 10 products.
Won't Facebook quickly offer the news at such a high price?
