Does the Teneco allow you to replace the battery? How do you replace the battery on the eureka when it wears out? I called Eureka and they said that they dont repair this unit or replace the battery. When the battery reaches it's maximum charge/run cycles, which will happen in less than a year for someone who uses the unit once per day, you may be able to get a warranty replacement. If the battery poops out after the warranty period, you need to just toss the vacuum. I cant believe that is true but i called Eureka customer service and was told this. Then I asked to speak to a manager and yes that is the situation. If you report run time decreases due to battery wearing out DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD they will help you with replacement/exchange but if AFTER the warranty period, you just have to toss the unit in the trash. Even if your battery poops out (or starts having less and less runtime) before the year mark (which it will) you can call and get a replacement but the new unit does NOT come with a new 1 year warranty so the MOST time you can get on this purchase is hopefully about a year when you buy it and then about a year for the replacement and then you have to toss it. Unbelievable but that is the state of american product manufacturing these days. I hoover version of this product comes with clip on batteries so you can have more than one on hand, and when they wear out you just buy new batteries. Other manufacturers are the same. How Eureka could not see this as a problem is unbelievable. Do you have a solution or workaround? Can the unit be opened and seviced by user? What do you think?

I have so many questions because you could see that the Eureka left some residue on the floor, that was then cleaned up when the rolled back happened.
