Many years ago I had the pleasure of seeing her Father at a club. He came out and sang and played 1 song then he got up from the piano and left the stage. This club was very small and intimate so him leaving didn't cause any alarm but he was gone for a while his band continued to play. I wrote a request for "This Christmas" on a napkin which he read but didn't sing. The show was over quickly. We felted at that time that something was wrong just didn't know what. It was an experience that I always remember. Many people may not know this but at one time Freddy White the brother of Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire use to be Donny Hathaway's drummer. If I remember correctly Freddy was the drummer that night. Donny was and always will be the best at what he did. His Daughter does him proud.
The first time I heard her song “Baby Baby Don’t Cry” In 1988 I was Smitten by her voice toned just like her Father. He’d be so proud of her “RIP Donny Hathaway” you’re music & legacy lives on for ages to come!🎶🎹🌹🎤🎧🎼🤩

Absolutely breathtaking vocals were impeccable the song evokes so much emotion The pianist was phenomenal my very first band that I was in my pianist played like this man he isn't only playing it he is feeling everything about his instrument and completely enthralled with her voice what a pair thank you for putting this out absolutely fabulous ♥️

Lalah Hathaway is singing her father’s (Donny Hathaway) song that he wrote for her mother & his wife, (Eulaulah Hathaway). She has that deep & full voice her father had. Don’t sleep on her mother tho, she’s a singer as well. That’s how her parents met in College. They were both studying music.
