It just takes time and not worth bying a 70 dollar tool. Here in Holland you will pay over 100 dollars. Some people do it another way, but this works for you so great job.
nice trick on the part where you add a M6 bolt to ensure the case split parallel. But instead of using a cap screw ( which under such torque you could round the cap screw hexagon shape) you could opt for a hexagon bolt M6, to get a better torque using size 10 T spanner with short extension where you can continuously turn the T spanner. With a normal hex hear bolt you then can translated more force to push the other side of the crank case apart.
are you shure it's good for the thread's to apply so much pressure? the engine block is aluminium and that's a very soft metal so i'm not shure. have you noticed anything diffrent about the threads?
Might get an Aprilia RS50 2003? Can I remove the crankshaft and then pull the whole cylinder off, then get the piston out and remove the Conrod with the crankshaft connected and then replace the piston and cylinder?
Klawz ah okay, well theoretically you cannot remove the crankshaft before removing the cylinder. It’s because you have to split the crankcase to reach the crankshaft and both part of the crankcase are linked through the stud bolts that maintain in position the cylinder. Then, maybe you will have to use a grinder to disassemble your cylinder. Good luck ;)
Romain Quiban would you say it’s worth it? The bike is £350 and that’s the only thing wrong with it, was thinking I could lift the cylinder up a bit then put a thick piece of metal in the gap and then hammer the piston down and then repeat until it’s all the way out
Hi there. I’m currently doing a rs125 project. One quick question you may be about to help me with. Is if you skip this video to 4 minutes 44 seconds, you’ll notice in the bottom right hand side of the screen there is a tube/ hose that comes from the engine. I don’t know or understand what this is. Could you help me please
Hi, the other extremity of this tube goes into the protective cover of the pinion sprocket. Actually I don’t know the purpose of this connection between sprocket and flywheel housing. I’ll be happy to know it
Kolipoki12 It can pull it in to. Just put a nut on the crank half way and the bolt that pulls. If you can you could weld 2 nuts together so you wil have more threads. That's what i'm going to do. It can go both ways just look at it.
How often is it recommended to replace gearbox bearings and how often is it recommended to replace gears and other gearbox components of Aprilia RS 125? Manufacturer recommends engine bottom replacement at 32k km, as far as i know.
Gears are gearbox lifetime except the plastic one for the water pump that you have to change every 16000km. I don’t know about bearings. I replaced them because I could hear noises from gearbox at deceleration.
yeah, at the time I had access to a plasma cutting machine, it was nice to cut the piece of steel (10mm thick). You can do the rest with a pillar drill :)
Awesome video, who needs all those special tools when,
With a bit of imagination and talent you make your own, bravo!
Thanks :)

+keng lee tan hey thanks for the advice!
Really useful videos

I’m not sure I understand. You don’t need to remove the crankshaft nor the conrod to replace your piston and cylinder
Romain Quiban forgot to say, it’s seized 😂
Romain Quiban I forgot**

@Paul Mickiewicz hey thanks for this information, good to know ;) oil on rear tyre.. doesn’t seem great !
can the flywheel puller be made to the crankshaft "pusher"? It would save some metal...

Awesome videos! Were these see through pieces made from plexiglass?
Yess
Why did you take out the gears? Can i get away with leaving them inside, while replacing crankshaft and its bearings?
I replaced most of the gearbox bearings. But yes I think it’s possible to let them inside while changing crankshaft

U need the bearings to be free of steel or poylmer shields.
Else lubrication will fail.
Hiya- I have a question about your tools. How can I contact you ?
Do you fabricate these tools your self
