To give an idea of how big they are and Continue to be, their greatest hits album has spent 900 weeks on the UK album chart, that's over 17 years and is 23x platinum in the UK alone.

Autotune didn't exist when this song was recorded. The members of Queen (Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, Brian May, & John Deacon) were so amazingly talented that they actually sounded better live than on studio recordings. Even though Freddie was the lead vocalist (his voice was astonishing) but Roger's and Brian's voices are also better than most lead singers in other bands.

I should have wrote that differently. He was never a trained dancer, but the musician never shied away from collaborating with dancers and choreographers. Mercury teamed up with The Royal Ballet back in 1979 for a sold-out concert.

Freddie was master of the stage he was not just a frontman/singer he was very much a performer. A lot of his movements on stage are not just a front but very much done with timing and meaning for the band. When you come to watch the live aid concert you will see he can very much control the audience and the thing was they were not even a dedicated Queen audience either. Freddie was an absolute artist in every sense of the word!

Freddie Mercury "Farrokh Bulsara" was a British singer, songwriter, record producer and lead vocalist of the rock band Queen. Regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock music, he was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range. ( 5 September 1946 - 24 November 1991 )

When you get around to watching the 1985 Live Aid performance bear in mind that Freddie had nodules in his throat and his doctor did want him to take part. Freddie, being the trooper that he was, insisted on performing and went on to steal the show.

My own began during a ski trip to Turkey when the ski lift operators appeared only to have a Queen tape available so that Queen were continually blasting across the slopes. Great reaction! Fun little fact , This song is written by Brian May , the guitarist , who completed his phd in astrophysics in 2007 , Yep , He sure is a man of culture
Since you seem to not know many of the band members name , let me clear it :
    Freddie Mercury : Lead Singer
    Brian May : Guitarist
    Roger Taylor : Drummer
    John Deacon : Bassist
All of them play multiple instruments and every band member has wrote multiple hits for the band and three of them sing lead or backing vocals on almost every queen song
Talking about reacting to more queen songs before live aid concert so it doesn't spoil anything
You may want to react to the studio versions of the songs performed at live aid before reacting to it
The songs are mentioned below :-
    Bohemian Rhapsody (already done)
    Radio Gaga
    Hammer To Fall
    Crazy Little thing called love
    We Will Rock You

"Musician Brian May has released the song he wrote in honour of NASA's New Horizons mission, which has successfully received information from a space object 6.4 billion kilometres away.
The Queen guitarist, who also happens to be an astrophysicist, wrote a song called New Horizons, his first solo work in more than 20 years.
He debuted it at Johns Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md., early New Year's Day."

The secret of Queen's versatility is that all four of the band members not only wrote songs, but they all wrote hits. In fact all four of them have been inducted into the songwriters hall of Fame. Not only was auto tune unnecessary, it didn't exist yet. Btw Freddie designed the Queen logo. And Brian May, who is now an astrophysicist, wrote this song because he knew Freddie appreciated generous backsides.

Fat Bottomed Girls was released as a double A-side along with Bicycle Race. The lyrics of the song contain the text line “Get on your bikes and ride”, a clear reference to the other A-side. Bicycle Race has the text “Fat bottomed girls, they'll be riding today, so look out for those beauties, oh yeah” which refers back again.
So now you have to react to Bicycle race too!

I don't know if anyone has already posted this, but if you're wanting to familiarise yourself with the songs first, here is their setlist for Live Aid.
    “Bohemian Rhapsody”
    “Radio Ga Ga”
    “Hammer to Fall”
    “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”
    “We Will Rock You”
    “We Are the Champions”
A little bit of the background to this concert. Live Aid was a benefit concert in 1985 for the victims of famine in Ethiopia. It was mainly organised by 2 musicians, Bob Geldolf (singer, The Boomtown Rats) and Midge Ure (singer, Ultravox). They brought together the biggest bands and artists at the time to play at the all-day concert at Wembley Stadium, London. It was televised live to 1.9 billion people, in 150 countries around the world. At that time that was about 40% of the world population. The thing that made the Queen performance, and Freddie in particular, even more astounding is how the 72,000 crowd at Wembley were not just Queen fans as there were about another 20 bands/artists playing there that day.
Really looking forward to you watching it.

The film tells the story of the life of Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the British rock musical band Queen, from the formation of the band up to their 1985 Live Aid performance at the original Wembley Stadium. Such a great movie that taught me so much about Freddie and the band. Enjoy!

You should react to 'Somebody To Love' by both Queen as well as George Michael's cover version of that same song, Joel. It shows Freddie's versatility in not just his songwriting but also his singing and George's cover version of it is just fantastic as well. 'Fat Bottomed Girls', 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', etc show his 'rocker' side whereas 'Somebody To Love' shows his more sensitive and romantic side.
Unfortunately 'Somebody To Love' was omitted from their Live Aid performance but it didn't stop them from completely stealing the entire concert especially when you consider that there were 70,000+ people at Wembley Stadium on that day and they were all clapping along in sync with their hands above their heads and with one other during 'Radio Gaga'. Incredible.
On a more upbeat note though 'Bohemian Rhapsody' ( the film and not the song ) is premiering on Channel 4 this coming Saturday, 19th February, at 9 p.m. and Rami Malek won an Oscar for his portrayal of Freddie in that film. I can't wait.

Freddie Mercury died in November of 1991.
Auto tune came into existence in 1997.
Brian May, lead guitar, wrote the song, which is the reason his guitar was heavily featured.
In songs written by John Deacon, bassist for the group, his bass guitar is featured.
Same with Freddie and the piano and Roger with his drums.

The saddles on the bikes had to be replaced after the video was made because the company that supplied the bikes (Halfords) found out how they were used and asked the video production company/Queen to purchase new ones. Try watching the Queen at Live Aid concert...not only will you hear them do some songs I bet you will recognize..and probably did not know they wrote...but you sill see what an incredible performer Freddie Mercury was. The Live Aid concert was considered the greatest live Rock performance ever .By the way , Queen was played quite often on the radio , but before you were born. They were Multi Platinum , and created soundtracks for film like the 1980's remake of Flash Gordon , and the 90's film Highlander with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery.
