Hiya - no exaggeration I think this is one of the best travel videos I've seen. It covers every great aspect of blackpool in such a laid back, interesting way with no hype or over excited presenter - - just fun facts and interesting things shown and pointed out. Fantastic stuff! Great work!

Living in the USA but great nostalgia of a Lancashire childhood in the 1950s and 60s. Who would be the first to see the tower as we drove towards the coast. The excitement of visiting the illuminations and having the car break down on the journey home. Windy and wet days on the prom and walking for miles in crowds along the front. Rushing off the beach with the rented deck chairs when the tide was coming in. Donkey rides, penny machines and ice cream. Fish and chips in newspaper and staying in a caravan park ten miles from the beach. I can still remember the BINGO jingle calling people to take their seats to play. Would not change these memories for anything.

I'm well impressed with the regeneration shown here, especially at the south end. During stays, I've always felt more comfortable at the south end for some reason. Despite it being a little rough round the edges for years, I've always liked Blackpool, so seeing some development being done is nice.
A random memory of Blackpool is during the mid 80s, there was a huge surge in T-shirt stalls where you could have naughty designs steam-pressed onto them.. Pictures of cartoon animals doing rude things!? (I never liked them!), and you could also have your photo taken with a dodgy cardboard cut-out of a celebrity! I had one taken with Rocky!

I'm Andrew and live on a farm near Lincoln so not really too far away from you, so Blackpool is not a place I have visited for many years, I think it was 1995 so many things have changed. It has the best funfair in Britain, although I have little interest in the rides. The tower stands over 500 feet high, and there are three piers, many amusement arcades, and of course the tramway, although the modern trams are those that predominately operate, the ancient trams are very rarely used. Interesting buildings apart from the tower are the Winter Gardens, theatres, the Sandcastle Water Park, my favourites that are no longer there were the Derby Baths swimming pool, and the Stockingfeet Funhouse at the Pleasure Beach where you wore no shoes that was destroyed by fire and Valhalla was built on the site.

Normally lights are switched on begining of Sept until 1st Sunday of November when the pleasure beach let's off fireworks to mark the season coming to an end !
To be realistic the season starts usually around or at Easter and finishes November

The camera work, editing, music and narration of these videos are very professionally done. I appreciate it must be very time consuming getting the facts for certain building, landmarks etc and editing everything. The tourist boards should be paying you for doing these Tim :)

Speak for yourself my friend! I've always admired Tims work from the offset, and have often commented on how good it is.Its not very nice to say viewers won't appreciate or acknowledge the work in these vids! Who are YOU to say such things??! Of course we do, or no one would bother watching.

Ok we got a serious offended one. When you watch a disney film etc do you think about how everything has been animated, modelled etc or just enjoy the film because if the film is good i get engrossed in that and not the production side.
If it makes you feel better i will edit my quickly typed out comment. The point i was making was these videos are well made and must be a bit time consuming to edit getting facts for certain buildings etc.Obviously all the viewers think about this side of things like yourself and i was wrong. Friends?

Ha Ha, I followed you for your Norfolk videos and you end up in my home town. Good video again. Illuminations this year are on right up until January through Christmas, this is a one off to extend the season hopefully to help some businesses recover from Covid and having to close for months. Is normally the weekend that corresponds with bonfire night 👍

Wow, looking at the time on your tram ticket we may have travelled on the same service on Saturday. You showed Blackpool as you do every location in a very fair way, not focusing on easy and lazy criticisms. Half expected to see you head to Yorkshire Fisheries for lunch too as you did almost everything we did, BUT the view from Big Blue reminded us what a perfect view they have, Boulevard was our hotel this time and a very good stay and supper but the views from the Park View Suite can never match Big Blue, the coastal suites though are wonderful. Can't believe you boarded a tram 4 mins after us!!! Hope to see you in many more of our favourite locations

Loved this video Tim. I was in Blackpool for afew hours last Saturday to see the lights (first time back since I was 7... 35 years ago) The best cafe for food was The West Coast Rock Cafe. (Over your shoulder at 14:51) The food and drink and Staff were brilliant (music playing was great too) if anyone watching is thinking of visiting soon.

Another great video! Blackpool is a routine visit for me. Fun bit of trivia. South Pier was built for the working class, Central Pier was built for the Middle Class, and North Pier was built for the wealthy (hence why Billy Butlins built the Grand Metropole there). As time passed, the working class people realised that their pier was subpar as there was minimal investment, so the locals upgraded it using trade materials. Now, the Central Pier is the most popular due to the tower, South Pier is the best of the three thanks to the hard work of the local tradesmen, and North Pier is in shambles as the wealthy gave up investing.
