I worked on those Hobart units for over 30 years That leaking vacuum breaker can be repaired in less than 5 minutes with a rebuild kit. This is a very common problem. It's a shame to tell them to replace a $6000 dishwasher for a $50 part.
@@troyhough Parts for Hobart commercial equipment can be purchased over the counter from any authorized parts distributor or directly from Hobart Corp.
Commercial dishwasher repair is a big business in my area… Very often my customers who have commercial dishwashers , will pay a monthly fee for leasing the equipment , which also includes maintenance ….and the company they lease them from will send out technicians who specialize in commercial dishwasher repair… Those commercial appliance technicians will very often have small parts on their trucks that are designed specifically for these Hobart units… These Hobart dishwashers are not cheap…
That plastic tubing gets brittle when old. Especially when used in hot environments. Probably should replace all of that tubing. Those commercial under counter dishwashers are like $5-8k, I can see why they would rather repair it.
Thats a common repair on a commercial dishwasher as the vacuum breaker gets used pretty heavy. Those have kits so you can just get the plastic peice inside. Simply unscrew the whole top not by the screws but just twist the whole top, remove the plastic and replace. Easy.
I work on these for a living, I don't come across this model often due to them being older and discontinued, parts are harder to come by and the leaking is almost always those plastic fittings including the T, they're going to run into more leaking issues with it. It's better to dump it out.
@marthasmadman I do commercial, not residential. It's not bad pay but it's demanding and can be stressful. You'll need to be independent and able to troubleshoot by yourself. If you go to a restaurant with the dishwasher down, they'll have a lot of plates stacked. You better get them fixed ASAP or you will get chewed out.
@marthasmadman I know a few guys I work with that started residential, they're good techs, it wouldn't be a bad move if you did, than transition over if you wanted too.
steve, it's an interferometric synthetic aperture optimized for higher altitudes (inside the radiation belts). It's a 14F01 Neitron, based on the older Kondor platform.
PVC off commercial dishwasher with on board heater probably a little too hot and softened over time need copper or casr per code but oh well lol Hows Miss Molly doin need more of her
I'd have done the same thing, fix it. The thing still works and likely will keep working just fine. All of the problems seem to be external connections minus the vacuum breaker. BIG LEAK. They will need a new floor when that dishwasher needs replaced.
Looks like the red and blue tubes were supposed to be for detergent and rinse aid, not sure why they had them in the drain, seems like it could end up sucking drainwater back into the system
What a setup nothing made easy to work on anymore… The accessibility to repair anything is ridiculous. Not to mention the way it’s manufactured together you end up breaking things trying to get it apart to repair. Steve, I hope once you get that replacement part installed that that’s the last time you have to look at that unit for them. She’s a leaker, nothing but quality here! 🚁
