I like AFE I think they make quality stuff all intakes need a flexible joint like the Factory intake. You would be Surprised how much the motor moves under load and even more so under heavy load when towing etc!! 🙂👍I would buy this intake but modifying it by adding a flex joint would be a must. I've been down this road before with a cheaper Spector intake on a Ram 1500 Hemi after a few weeks of hard driving i pop the hood to do an oil change and my intake tube had pulled out from the throttle body so I tighten the crap out of all the hose clamps checked it once a week for several weeks all looks good a few months go by and one of the Aluminum mounting brackets steel bolts broke right off My inner fender well thought maybe I broke a motor mount newer truck with lower miles , checked my motor mount no cracks in the rubber all looks good. Where the bolt broke off the bracket had moved back and forth about 3/4's of an inch so yes I learned this lesson the hard way. I hope this is helpful
Thanks! That is super helpful! I like the AFE stuff, and have the dual exhaust on here too which sounds great and is quite nice. I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t design it with a flexible joint. And I’m not sure how or where I could find one that would work. I did just check on it yesterday and the rivets are holding it in place nicely. Thanks for stopping by!
It appears as though you failed to re-tighten the clamp closest to the throttle body after wrestling it back into place the last time. ;) When working on critical engine components, be sure to slow down and double check your work folks!
Uhm, not in this case my friend. I have dealt with this clamp system loosening and causing problems countless times. No matter how tight I get them. Now one thing I haven’t tried is a jam nut to lock the clamps in place. Maybe I’ll try that next! Thanks for checking out the video though. 🙌🏻

You’re better than me. I would have ripped that junk out and put the Toyota intake back on.
If the Toyota stuff was included when I bought this truck used I certainly would have considered it!
