Nothing is worse than being with someone who says they love you. Only to spend months or even years of you life, only to get stabbed in the back by the one you were convinced loved you with all there heart. And have nothing but questions and doubts the rest of your life. Yes I loved her, and thought I was spending the rest of my life with her.
This song is phenomenal all the way through, yes. The storytelling and acting of the main 4 involved is phenomenal- but can we talk about Erik Liberman absolutely NAILING that crazy high note at the very beginning of the song? Oh. My. Maria. That is such a hard progression to sing NORMALLY and he just *C a s u a l l y* HITS IT. He is by far my new favorite Broadway actor
I am addicted to this song noe. Very catchy and sounds good for dancing😊!! If only i could do the splits like what Ciara did in the La Jolla playhouse.

It’s a difficult one!! And my mind always goes blank with things like these. Maybe I Won’t Say I’m in Love from Hercules? It’s Disney and a strong female character
hopegirl518 Ashlynn She's never implied to be any true race in the musical. Disney made her dark skinned. Musical made her light skinned. Book made her have yellow tan skin.
hopegirl518 Ashlynn Actually race varies in her culture, though it's mostly European, so some whites and darker skin. Also race doesn't matter in theatre, I've seen a Les Mis character, Fantine, who's usually portrayed as light skinned played by a vary talented black woman. Race doesn't designate talent, if you're good at the part then you should get the part.
Some musicals have a set race for characters. like in Hamilton, the original auditions were blind casting, but after that they set specific races for the characters to keep the diversity of the cast. Hunchback never made it to Broadway tho, so idk if any places that do the show have a set appearance/race for the characters or even if it varies from place to place.

This song is making me question my sexuality
i LOVE this song so much. i think i broke the replay button. the tempo and esmeralda's voice are just perfect
When she said, "Hey, Jacques and Pierre", she could be referring to Pierre Gringoire, her other boyfriend from the novel!
"Look at that *disgusting* display" >_>
"Yes, Sir!" :D
I'm in a production of this show and I'm SO EXCITED!!!! I'm part of the choir. This along with Thai Mol Piyas is my favorite song!
Hi Charlotte, do you happen to have the sheet music for this? I'd love to use it for an audition.
My new favorite song😊! I love how the tune sounds very cheerful and maybe Master of the House-esque.
2:00 - 2:22 😍😍😍 idk what the musical term for that kinda harmony sequence was but damn
such a fun lively dance number to play at A party, I Love it.
Frollo: ONE-HANDED 100
Kman314 I appreciate this
Kman314 CHILLL
I WAS NOT PREPARED
This song is phenomenal all the way through, yes. The storytelling and acting of the main 4 involved is phenomenal- but can we talk about Erik Liberman absolutely NAILING that crazy high note at the very beginning of the song? Oh. My. Maria. That is such a hard progression to sing NORMALLY and he just *C a s u a l l y* HITS IT. He is by far my new favorite Broadway actor
I am addicted to this song noe. Very catchy and sounds good for dancing😊!! If only i could do the splits like what Ciara did in the La Jolla playhouse.
I’m entranced by her voice 😍😍
I'm auditioning for this in a few days. Wish me luck!
Black Swan hope you do well/ did well! Update if you get the part 😂
Did you get a good part?
My school is doing it this year, I hope you got the part you wanted
Oh my gosh I forgot about this comment! No, I didn't get a part, but I was a bit out of dancing and singing practice , not to mention the voice part is a wee bit low for me. But never fear, I will audition again! I'm also auditioning for Marian from Music Man in a few months!
@@blackswan4486 you got this girly! From one theater girl to another, you'll have your losses and your wins. Regardless, break a leg :)
That is a pretty fun song!
this song is so good and i wish it wouldve been in the disney film
I’m in love with this song! When I first heard it on TikTok I thought it was just a song that that Esmeralda cosplayer thought sounded like Esmeralda, but now I love it even more now I know it actually is her!!
Aaand now this is a TikTok sound.
But hey, I’m not complaining. The more people who hear about this show, the better.
This is so amazing my sister did this play yesterday and today

They are now on tour and preforming in some states this year really cheap tickets!
Audreanna Sierra haha I don't live in the USA
Audreanna Sierra
Are they coming to Maryland.
Only "happy" song in the show just saying
Nah, Thai Moi PIas is kind of foreboding, with Frollo watching Esmeralda and Pheobeus. "Top of the World" is a happy song though.
JJdaPK I would argue that there's such tragedy under top of the world but that could be argued for every song in the musical
Topsy Turvy?
Caleb Wimberly well maybe I should have said the last happy song.
Rest an Relaxation
my schools doing this in october, auditions are wednesday. i love this musical so much and i’m hoping for chopin. wish me luck
August Nemeth break a leg! Hope you get the part your hoping for!
It astounds me that Renee (Esmeralda) has a such an amazing voice, and the Cw didn't use it for Legends or Duet.
MTI needs to make a Jr. version of this musical!
I can imagine Esmeralda in the Disney movie singing this then doing her pole dance
Sabrina Spellman as Esmeralda.
Anybody have the vid of this song from the show? Still love this song after a few years
All along I thought she was saying Soulja Boy

TH-cam recommended to me this
Thanks
Next to Hell Fire, this is my favorite song from the musical ❤️
I audition for this show next month,,, I don't necessarily want Esmeraldas part but this song is in my range dammit!!
I'm in the play hunchback of Notre Dame 💜
What part
I really think that it is so amazing and so incredible song video in the whole world 💐

It's a few beats before the start of Ezmerelda's part
Am I the only one who noticed this song has almost the same melody as that Christmas song "Carol of the Bells?"
I was about to say that myself, though I also detected a rhythmic similarity to "Dancing to the Wedding Drum" (the original incarnation of "Steady as the Beating Drum" in POCAHONTAS).

I have to audition for Esmeralda Tuesday please wish me luck!
Yees.
Sabrina Spellman as Esmeralda.
I’m auditioning soon for her wish me luck 🙏🙏
Did you get Esmeralda or get in?! Esmeralda is one of my biggest musical theatre dream roles!! I played a female Romani dancer/ensemble in 2018 with Theatre Lab and one of my good friends was Esmeralda! Hopefully I’ll get to play her one day! 💙💙
@@brackthomasfischer6139 Omg no auditions are in a few weeks i’m so nervous tho! I really connect with her as a character, not racially, but I’ve been used for my body and understand her struggle. I do look like her tho and sing super well so Im hoping i’ll get her buttttt I’m new to theater so acting is new for me 😩 I got a lead in my school’s fall show but you never know this stuff is sooo competitive
@@scarlett4531 you get the part?
@@scarlett4531 I can relate to being used for my body too. The first two men I was with intimately uses me telling me they wanted to be my boyfriend and they ghosted and blocked me right after. It hurt especially with the first guy because he took my virginity when I was 18 in 2018. I had been talking to them at different times but for a long time. But I’m over it now obviously and I can’t wait to find a good boyfriend, my Prince!! I hope you got into Hunchback or got Esmeralda!

I’m doing an audition for this Monday!

"She dances like an angel"
How can someone dance like an angel? Whoever heard of an angel doing sexual dances on the street, even on Epiphany?
She wasn't dancing on the street she was dancing on a stage (two stages to be exact 😂) at the feast of fools.
Nadia Plays In the book, she was described to be dancing in the street during the Feast of Fools, so.......
the gizzard of mars As described by Genius(genius.com/amp/Alan-menken-rhythm-of-the-tambourine-lyrics), this is coming from a man who’s suffering PTSD from 4 years at the front, making sure that, now he’s in Paris for Rest and Recreation, he won’t be sent back. A man that torn from peace would find anything outside of war so heavenly.
I would love to be Esmeralda 😱😱😱 but I don’t know what song to pick to show my best :/ any suggestions or tips?
Marialexia Hernandez do you want a song from the show or outside it? X
@@snoopdoggyloleg outside of it :) usually they want to hear something in the style but not from the show. I am not sure what would be a good fit. Thank you so much for replying!
It’s a difficult one!! And my mind always goes blank with things like these. Maybe I Won’t Say I’m in Love from Hercules? It’s Disney and a strong female character
Chloe Richardson Plus it’s meant for an Alto singer
acheidinah.blogspot.com/2019/01/the-jewish-romani-connection-are.html
Such a difficult song to sing.
That sad moment when you'd love to play Esmerelda but can't beacuse of your race.
hopegirl518 Ashlynn She's never implied to be any true race in the musical.
Hunchback never made it to Broadway tho, so idk if any places that do the show have a set appearance/race for the characters or even if it varies from place to place.
welp 🤷🏽♀️
You all made me smile. But I've heard stories of people going crazy because a ehite woman was cast as Esmerelda.

What on earth is the time signature for this?
Time signature: "Epic"
It changes, actually. Most of the time, it is 3/4, but there are some measures in 2/4 and others in 4/4 (at the end of verses). If you google the sheet music, you can confirm this.
Yeah, counting from when Esmeralda starts singing it goes: 1 2+ 3, 1 2+ 3, 1 (2), 1 2+ 3, 1 2+3, 1 2, 1 2+3, 1 2+3, 1 (2), 1 2+ 3 (4)+-, 1+ 2+ 3 (4)+ 1... for the first verse at least.
