All of the above lol 😂 It’s a nerve-wracking and fragile opening, you entire mouth is on the verge of cramping multiple times throughout the piece, especially of course if you’re not professional (but even if you are it’s really straining) but at the same time it’s SO awesome
Notice that even this orchestral of fantastic professional musicians have a dedicated extra horn player next to the principal horn. This is called a bumper, and his part is to play some of the toughest parts of the first horn part, so the soloist can have some breaks. This is to ensure that the soloist can still have his best sound for the solo in the end of the piece
