I'm always looking for old classic semi trucks to save and restore. I'm also always looking for trucks or parts Detroit Diesel related. If you have one that needs to be saved or you know of one you can drop me an email at the following address: Ol2Stroker@gmail.com
Be sure to check out our website ol2stroker.com for truck parts and merch!
I want to see this truck do well so bad it has so much potential
One step forward, two back. It'll be back for the 2025 season 🧹😁
Same!
It sounds like a Subaru WRC car. Wild.
Lol
The truck most certainly has the potential to be a serious contender for sure. I have a feeling 2025 will be a game changer for the Crusty Fat Cab!!!!
Man I watched practice run #1 and 2 probably over 50 times already! Incredible how far that truck has come since I saw it at onaway in 2023. And sounds insane! Can't wait to get out to onaway in 2025 and see yall again and film the fat cab tearing up A-class! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Hell yea!!! Can't wait to see where its at next year
@Ol2Stroker Same here! I can't wait to see what driveline changes Jason makes and what little tweaks he's gonna make. But in the end it's gonna be fast as hell!
I know what happened, you touched it Wayno 😂 I hope he gets it back up n going, and I’m excited for the 12V-92 pull truck. Ahem, hint hint
At this power level it's looking like any cylinder heads you put on it are going to crack. You overcome one power limiting factor - the Detroit injection system only to find the cylinder heads are now the weak spot. Hot rodding that.
It's ok we have a plan 💪💪
@@Ol2Stroker I actually can't wait now you've said that.
Very Very cool
I wish we had this kind of racing out West
You guys got that thing screaming. Many years ago at tech college we painted a truck puller for another student’s father who had a big truck shop. I think it was a 1958 Mack called “Mack Attack” with a 6V92 and he’d turn that thing 5,500rpm. Detroit told him it would float all the valves and wouldn’t stay together for 1 run. At the time we painted it he had 6 pulls on it. I was told he actually made more money betting people it could turn 5,500rpm than he did pulling it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't his truck used to have dual stacks?
It did yea
I see what your problem with the engine is , you have a computer controlling the engine !
I've NEVER seen a computer controlled engine that ran reliably for long .
Go full manual controlled engine for long term reliable operation .
Really enjoying this development !!!
Love this truck she screams. Sucks about all the problems but that goes with it when racing. But you learn something with each pass and can only make the ol girl faster.
Might be down for a second or three but damn its going to run again and take names!
it'd make sense, injector shorted out causing the ecm to pop the fuse. it must have been dead that entire time.
that really sucks, such an awesome rig! you'll get it fixed though! 🤍🤍🤍
I know of an 8v92 in southern Wisconsin which could be bought.
Rearend gear to high
Good seeing ya guys up wish it would of made it one more day
Race it till you break it 😂
And then build it better. Repeat
@@ruckus__ amen!
We've got that part figured out!
Fat cab hauls the mail when running right
Why didn't you bring your bowling alley lane for some after hours fun
😂😂😂
Too much fuckin around!!
Keep us posted mate hope it’s a simple fix
It's already an awesome truck, can't picture it as being even better! Wow
Sucks when shit blows up that far from home but those long wrench sessions with your boys will be some of the best times of your life when you look back.
What’s beautiful truck! Love that old Detroit sound.
Seems like a fella could justify spending time making quick release for that hood and support bar. Looks like working around those kinda blows.
This thing is bonkers. I had a run in with a Dmax injector microscopic check ball one time. It was a OE core due for return... needless to say it returned incomplete. 😵💫
Hay buddy
Someone make a dozen billet heads for this guy!!
I know its a 2 stroke but what rpm are you shifting at holy shit lol
Oof, I saw your comment below about the heads being cracked between the valves when you had it apart Monday. Finding a set of pristine heads for that 92 series is going to be tough. Seems like a lot of those 4 valve heads crack like that.😝 I'd be curious to see if it broke a sleeve (i.e. water in the airbox).🤔
Questions from an ignorant man: what is the role of this lever, operated twice on the steering column? And the role of the button (I suppose) on the shifter? Thks.
I was wondering the same, I thought that lever was for trailer brakes. And I’m guessing the button on the shifter is some sort of 2 step setup or a trans brake but who knows, I’m hoping he responds!
I believe he has the Johnson Bar plumbed into the front brakes to keep the truck from rolling on the starting line!
@@75LS1Vega Thanks for the hints
@@minnesotatomcat Thanks for the hints
Thanks for sharing, great vid , hope Jason gets it sorted 👍💨💨
Great video Wayne thanks for sharing 👍
did you talk to any of the kuhnle drivers?
Can wait to see what he’s got done to it in 25 at Onaway.
Nice office space reference! What part Ohio you guys in ?
Kuhnle Motorsports park, Thompson, OH
We were in Thompson, right near Geneva. Office Space is one of the greatest
@@Ol2Stroker um excuse me my stapler, how bad is Jason's truck? Is she hurt ?
BS "you can't win practice"😂
That thing is absolutely a beast when its dialed in
Too early in the program to be a proprietary secret . Sooo , what is the boost in this pup ,,, ?
75psi
@@Ol2Stroker thats pretty tame for a diesel the reason i say that is the fact most modded diesel engines run 100+ boost pressure
wayne is that ur brother?
Might as well be!
Eliminate the factory aftercoler and install air to air intercooler.
🤣🤣🤣
truck had that done years ago. Aftercooler is gone and two aftermarket water to air charge coolers cool the turbo air before entering the blower.
👍
Did it pop a headgasket?
Not sure. I think its just cracked heads. Every cylinder between valves had small cracks when it was apart Monday
@@Ol2Stroker Even mas no bueno!👎
@@Ol2Stroker why didn't you locate some good heads and change them while it was already apart ?
@@Ol2Strokerwayne its Rux , back in the late 70 a guy ran a pull tractor ithink the name was ( rolling thunder ) 8v-92 with a 6v 92 with a quick coupler between the cranks he would pull the 6v out so he could run two different weigh classes he run the blocks dry (no water) said the heads cracked with water because of temperature difference between the water & cylinder temp & if it cracked there was no water to leak ??
@@BeverlyHolzworth interesting!!!!
I can't believe you guys are doing this without ANY SAFETY GEAR WHAT SO EVER! if that piece of shit rolled you'd look like three week old refrigerator spaghetti! SHAKE HANDS WITH DANGER! 🤕
Simple.... Don't roll it.
Don't watch it if you dont like it
He did have on a yellow vest.
Don't forget the safety squints.
I swear you guys are the mount Rushmore of Detroit's! 🦾🦾🦾👌🏽🖖🏽🍻 Looking forward to seeing more of the fat cab in action!
Total bummer after thrashing for weeks beforehand, but looking forward to the 2025 season to see this back in action and sweeping the competition 🧹
