Red Dead Redemption Stories: Bonnie MacFarlane. All Cut Scenes.

- Bonnie is the daughter of Drew MacFarlane, the owner of MacFarlane's Ranch and has spent her whole life working on the ranch with her father. When she was young, her father hired a "French" governess (who Bonnie suspected of not truly being French, due to the fact she spoke Russian) to teach her and keep her civilized. She had six brothers, but five of them died from either illness or foolish choices. Her sole surviving brother, Patrick MacFarlane, moved to New York, where he supposedly works as a banker in Manhattan. With the majority of her generation deceased and the only other surviving male child leaving the family, Bonnie feels it is up to her to become the "man" of their family's ranch.

I love their chemistry and how realistic it is. They would’ve made a fantastic couple, but that’s not how it works.Right person, wrong time.
The fact that stuff like this happens literally all the time for people in real life makes it so perfectly executed man
Damn you're RIGHT. What a Realism is it.

Bonnie was such a good character
indeed batman
*someone had to do it*
Indeed I like her more than abigail
33:42 you can see bonnie was jealous, man this was an amazing game
I literally jumped off my wagon and ran back for Bonnie. I wanted to ship them so much
I noticed that the first time I played that Mission
Aye, Abigail was jealous too. That's why she hopped on the wagon to accompany John to Bonnie's ranch in the first place.
Not jealous, just a little heartbroken
I don't think she was jealous...nor heartbroken. It looked like she just wanted to say more to John, regarding his kindness and willingness to help her on desperate times. She had plenty of opportunities to be jealous before and didn't. She knew John had a wife...why just act like that due jealousy now? For me, she just wanted thank him more and was touched by his gesture.
Edit: Misspelling.

"Ugh. Call me Bonnie you fool! Call me Bonnie."
"MISS MCFARLANE. I'm married. I have a son."
😄😄😄
oof
Bro really hit her with the "I have a girlfriend" 💀
TBH she was getting real close and "friendly "to him, keep in mind that in this time you would only call someone by their first name if you were very close to them, if you didnt know somebody too well it would seem rude and out of place.
he needed to put that boundary before things escalated
@@karadanianoIBonnie is better than Abigail. I would have divorced her for Bonnie.
@@karadanianoI in Bonnie’s defense she had no idea John was married until he spoke up at 11:17
5:47 Holy shit I've never noticed this till now. Look at John, how when he is woken up from his sleep by a third party does he reach for his gun as a first reaction? Truly a display of his outlaw background, one we did not see until the prequel.
Read that in Snake Oils Man's voice if my drunk English isn't good enough for you.
Nice catching
Damn I hadn't noticed he was drawing nice eye for detail my man.
Yeah, very wild background.
*John calmly sleeping in the camp*

you can see John, so subtly, seems more literate here in his words -- maybe something he picked up from Jack through the years after RD2!
Yeah. He seemed like an idiot in Red Dead 2.
Well rdr2 epilogue takes place 3 years before rdr1 so maybe those stories jack read weren't as much of a waste as john thought lol
@@prosimian Well, he was. He was young and dumb. He gained more wisdom as he aged, and experienced more.
I'm pretty sure those ideals come from Dutch. He was the idealistic proto-socialist that taught people to read and how to think like him. That's why John knows him so well in RDR1, especially when he explains his ideals to the Mexican revolutionary in Mexico.
@@fuckingfuck1972 - As does everyone.
Can't herd, can't swim.
That dialogue had me rolling . Arthur my man is much better than john
@@dylana.9057 I'd say his character is a bit more complex than Johns but I love them both. But yeah Arthur is 1% above John at everything, exept for swimming and herding lol
Halopen94 Yeah John is so good . But Arthur is more " relatable " for the player ( especially when you start reading his journal and what he thinks about life and human condition ) . I think Arthur is more interesting , hence why the character development is better . But John is the classic cowboy , handsome guy that everyone loves . And a tragic character too .
However these 2 are some of the best protagonists in any game ever ! That's for sure
@@dylana.9057 Fully agreed. I prefer Arthur as well but its pretty close

They flirt a lot for simply being friends
Well it did look like she fell for him
@@bigfootwithinternetconnect2330 she did 100%, if not for Abigail, John would probably went for it
Yeah well that happens
What kind of friends would anyone be if they didn't flirt with eachother?
She had a crush on him sooo
32:22 and 33:44 was heartbreaking. She just felt a bit disappointed hearing that John was married even though John told her that he was many times. As he leaves, she feels lost and heartbroken.
He spoke a bit slow when he saw Bonnie lien he was unsure 😐
I agree
I quess its more like saying I have a family and I can’t let them leave behind I have to take care of them
When I played saw that cutscene for the first time i genuinely felt bad for Bonnie because I could tell that she really did have a thing for him.

It sucks Bonnie just keeps getting fucked over by everything. I loved her man but she was always getting dealt bad cards
@Benny Fair fax Yeah, but if he went with Bonnie he would have been hunted and killed at her ranch in front of her and then her life would have been even worse
@Mad Max Rockatansky Jack is like 20 years younger than Bonnie
Really tho, the guy who wanted to marry bonnie died in rdr2. Hell, because we can’t see Bonnie due being able to play as John marston later, so she never found out what happened to him.
yeah i mean in the second game you can find a letter from her dead lover

I’ve noticed that they call John and Arthur dumb but marston has a good vocabulary and Arthur is damn near a poet/artist

Bonnie is how a female character should be done. She's smart, witty, capable, down-to-earth, but most importantly, she's realistic and has limits. I was disappointed that she did not appear in RDR2.
She is in rdr2
..and pretty to boot
I am disapointed she was replaced by Sadie
She is a free roam mission lady in rdr2 online
I agree, John would have died without her help, and she would have been in worse shape or died without his. If RDR was made today she would have probably freed herself from that noose and killed all of the outlaws alone.

Reasons why Bonnie is better for John than Abigail
1. She’s better looking (imo)
2. She doesn’t complain every second
3. She actually knows how to cook, read and do ranch work.
4. She saved Johns life...
Well, without abigail's complaining john would probably be dead even before he left the van der linde gang.

I feel bad for what Bonnie must of felt like once she heard John died
Yooo Bonnie’s actually in red dead 2 online just did a stranger mission for her last nite lmao shit was crazy to see her at the farm seeing as you cant find her in story mode
I believe the reason why she isn't in story mode is because of this, pulled straight from the wiki:

man rdr1 became such a special game after rdr 2. I hope they make a prequel to rdr2 showing the origins of the van der linde gang and make rdr2 even more special that what it already is
The MacFarlane family were really good to John, hard to come by such people in those days.. And in ways, hard to come by even today.
I'd argue it's even harder today.
I prefer the way he talks in here. On RDR 2 he sounds like uhh.. How do you say it -raspy?
SevenFriday Well newer equipments and the time gap, can make a difference.
Well the voice actor was about 8 years younger here
@dayum son source for this? For some reason I noticed that he sounded younger to me even though his voice sounded raspy and different from RDR1.
@Eoghan That other user still hasn't provided a source for Rockstar specifically making the voice sound that way. I'm sure it's more because Rob Weitoff, the voice actor for John Marston smokes combining that with his voice changing over the years. It happens to many voice actors.
WELL THE ACTOR DID AGE LIKE 10 YEARS and probably smokes
Bonnie and John definitely have way more chemistry than John and Abigail
After RDR2, fuck no
I use to agree with this back when RDR1 first came out. But RDR2 really expanded on Abigail and John’s relationship.
Nope. They're my favorite couple. Wouldn't change them.

Ironic to consider that if John ended up staying with Bonnie he probably would have survived as the Pinkertons would have been way... way more hesitant to attack him then considering the wealth of the ranch owner.
Her dad was in debt, and didn't have much power. He was also anti-government, so they would have been more willing to shoot than anything. Remember, they were being led by a traitorous bastard.

The characters in RDR1 were so much more memorable than in rdr2.... I miss this game
I disagree. Sadie and Charles are equally as engaging as characters like bonnie and Landon, and the camp characters are also very engaging. And Arthur is one of the greatest video game protagonists, like John.
Then u hardly played RDR2
Big facts. Seth, Nigel West Dickens, Irish, Bonnie, Marshal, the deputies, Landon Ricketts, Allende, De Santa, Reyes, Luisa, Ross and Ford, all much more entertaining than Dutch's boring ass gang of nobodies. Arthur and Sadie are the only new characters that stood out to me.
@@lockandreload Sadie is crap character (the worst). how is this gritty realistic western story justify a woody's round up feminist? let's be real here women are not men and should not be written like that. the way Sadie steals john's light in the end of rd2 is unforgivable. the man could of went bounty hunting himself why does he need this political correct trope to show him how to be a real man? it is cringe. bad enough john is wrote terribly in rd2 a goofy fool that has to be rescued all the time. not once throughout the whole story of rd2 did john come on like the man we see in rd1. the end with the mountain in rd2 comes out of nowhere and seems off considering throughout the whole game john is played like a joke. having Sadie down talk him makes it even worse f her character.
My controversial opinion is that RDR 1 soundtrack is much MUCH better than RDR 2

stxrmbreak If you capture Javier alive he says “I hope your wife and children rot in hell” so that would suggest he knew about Johns daughter despite not seeing John since the gang fell apart 12 years prior. I think rockstar just messed up and forgot about it
