First off i contributed my 1 like so you can get rid of the tow strap lol. Second although the new lights look good i personally prefer keeping the 997 as a classic looking car and not doing modern upgrades like that. Cheers from another 997 turbo owner!!. Keep up the awesome work.
Hi Matt have been following for a while and love how far you have progressed - amazing keep it up and the lights are sick AF - great job on the build from across the pond - have built and modded my TT 3.2 and same lights just had to be upgraded, gives a whole new look.
I know this is an irrevelent comment to this episode (LOVE the new front and rear lights though 👌), but I just wanted to say I LOVE your choice of body colour on this beautiful car. IF I could afford one of these 997s, I would definitely copy your exterior paint colour… but I might go for a more sympathetic interior colour trim. As always, I am a huge fan of your Porsche rebuilds and have surprisingly been enjoying your BMW builds too 👍 Please keep up the great content mate!
Really nice improvements with the lights. Looks SO much better Matt 👍🏻 I agree with the rear trunk lid. If you can pick one up for reasonable and get it painted you car would really look so nice from the rear and let’s face it, that’s what most people are going to be seeing with you driving 😂 Not sure about the two hook but that’s your thing 👍🏻 CU gain soon I hope 👋🏻
997 looks really good hard work pays off.. editing really sharp now great channel great to see the sponsorship you have on the channel all goes towards the next project (GT3) 👍👍🙏🇬🇧
Matt the 997 looks AMAZING! The purists can suck it! I am with you, I like to modify my cars also. Be proud, you built a truly awesome car. Love the new exhaust, sounds bad ass.
Can't wait to see how this turns out. I thought about doing this to my 997, but I didn't want to lose the adaptive headlight feature where the lights turn with the steering wheel. 14:13 lol yeah, it's always a tough crowd.
Yeah that's right. I forgot certain ones had that feature. The new lights are great though! Now that I see those tail lights, I'm looking at getting those myself.
haha knew it! morimoto best tail lights to date for the 997. I remember commenting when u got the other ones... I was disappointed! but now im happy... still need to watch the rest of the vid but... the spoiler... I think you should have gone for a GT2 style one
The biggest problem I have with recent previous Gen Porsches is how dated the lights look, so this is a really great mod to find. The taillights on that model are argueably the worst of any generation, so the updated modern ones completely fix that problem. Nice video!
Hi Matt, regarding the uneven gap in the middle of the back bumper to the trunk, try packing it up in the middle where the two fixings are, I noticed there are two fixings, it may only need a couple of washers in-between.
To each their own, I'm not a fan of blackout headlights but I like the more modern internal DRL pattern like a newer Porsche. Morimoto does make good stuff!
And since u asked Matt, I do like the headlight upgrade but personally I like the Depo rears more than they new look you put in. Imo the Depo’s just resemble the 997 version more specially the .2. The ones you put in just have too much of a newer Porsche look but if that is what you want then stick wit it. Cheers
Try using some washers between the bumper and the support for the two middle clips to actually raise the bumper to meet the boot and close the gap. Nice build!
The 3D printed spacer may be too rigid and blocky whereas the washers will only raise at the point of the clips and allow some flex at the other points. Don’t have much experience using 3D printed parts but I guess if you design it properly to fit it should work ideal. My advice is to play around with the spacers first to see if it helps or not before investing the time and expense of the 3D printed parts. Also may require longer clips to properly secure the bumper skin.

Hi Matt, I have just bought my first 997. Excellent content on your channel. I believe you wired in a reversing camera to you aliexpress head unit on your 997 turbo. Could you share a photo of the camera wiring into the tail light wiring loom? Did you tap into the tail light harness or the main harness? Thank you.
I like the new lights although I think the black surround of the old front light made it pop more. Wonder if you could do a photo shop of the new ones with a black surround see if you like it. Also every time I see an aerial shot of the Porsche I keep thinking the spoiler will look so much better in black.
Dude please just buy a stock 997 trunk lid. They are only $400-500 and it will give you a clean look in the back. The wing you have on is just sooo out of place. Its way 2 big for a 997 body. You can im sure sell that for the price of a normal stock 997 trunk lid. Not need a turbo wing just a normal oem 997 trunk lid. trust me it will bring everything together.
He likes it the way it is, that's all that matters. The whole point of modifying cars is to make it your own personalized joy and pride. So put a lid on it, will ya! 😊
Hey Matt, those new headlights look great & complement the standard turbo wheels nicely ! By the way, I still can't make any purchase on the boosted apex design website for some reason, so I sent them a message a few weeks ago, but no reply to date...very disappointing.
Love the head and taillight update. Please tell me there are similar upgrades for our 996s I also own a 2002 996tt. I looked on their website and I can’t find any. How about using your influence to have them produce a set for us 996 owners?
It’s very impressive that you built this car as an amateur and you have a great channel definitely worth subscribing to

@matt13ross if I could click the like button 3500 times I would do it. Lol. Tow strap looks rice-y. Your car is too nice for that.
The gloss black ring on the old headlights is the only better part. It's a nice contrast. All else is looking good.
the black ring looked awful
Yeah and he just needs wheels and to take the tow hook off and it will look way nicer
Hi Matt, She looks amazing. Great upgrades, I'm not a big fan of the bis rear spoiler. Looks good. Maybe a GT2 wing would look a little better.
Your car really is stunning, you should be proud.
Thank you!

Fair enough! Thank you!
Very nice finishing touch. I was amazed to see the transformation. I didn't think it would be so huge. Enjoy driving it!
Like the new lights, personally liked the black trim ring around the factory headlights. Just my 2 cents

Ok the headlight upgrade was the best part. That looks wayyy better than I thought. It works well with the 997 and turbo wheels.
Totally agree those headlights look way better!
Looks better with new lights all around. Good job man
The wing are that car looks wild and really compliments it love the turbo
That is such a beautiful build!
The headlights look nice! I’m not a fan of the aftermarket tail lights but the new ones are not bad; better than the previous ones💯
Def better than previous!
Love the new look of the lights, much better IMO.
Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the link for the sanding disks on the m12 grinder works great
Definitely a big YES for the upgraded lights, makes this car look as it should.
You do such a great job, all the time, and you have fun at the same time, ROCK ON, love the videos, fra denmark.
Thank you very much!

that tow strap just kills the vibe and look of the car
And the wing
Agreed
@@JStryker7 the wing can go straight in the dumpster

The car looks great, brother. Good job.
Looks sick bro
sweet motor, on the exterior I'd change the wheels (I think the 20" 991 GTS's fir well on a 997) and do a rear wing delete.
Matt, if you are going to stockish look. Remove that wing please !!!!! ahaha
Nooo stock!

The new headlights and tall lights look incredible, well done!!!
PS ignore the haters - the rear engine cover and rear wing look amazing!
Thank you! Plenty of hate on those lol

I see where you're coming from. The Morimotos just look so much higher quality. That's why I prefer them.
Headlights look soooo much better. Getting rid of the black ring makes them look more oem.
Period correct lights always look best imo
Looks incredible! Definitely prefer the Morimoto full set.
Agreed!
Headlights and taillights look amazing, no question
(from a Porsche collectors point of view)
Looking nice 👌
996 headlights are one of the most unique and different headlights in a Porsche, is about own like, not everybody’s Matt.
im a fan of the morimoto head lights, but for tail lights, the OEM is more my cup of tea.
Try using some washers between the bumper and the support for the two middle clips to actually raise the bumper to meet the boot and close the gap. Nice build!
That's what I'm thinking. But a perfect solution would be a long 3d printed spacer to go under the whole middle I think.

Let’s get this guy to 100K by the end of the year🎉
Hopefully even sooner!
Matt please change the hardware bolts to black on the rear wing. It will make it look more OEM.
997 needs a nice set of wheels 😊
Love it!
996 head lights are the only non same old round they’ve done for 50 years. They are the true difference
Definitely sold on the E-bike.
Yes!
"I'm doing my part!" I did get excited for the rear hatch skit. I thought you had bought an OEM/GT2 one.
Morimoto for the win!
Amazing build. Great colour, wheels and upgrades. Reverse LED and massive wing unnecessarily. Love the series though
I like the LED because it's hidden but helps A LOT
Looking great. When are some BBS wheels coming 🫴🏼
Are they free?? Lol

Id love the Morimoto headlights for my 991, but they don't do a RHD version😢
I can see why you ‘upgraded’ the headlights and tails but I prefer what you had on there. Period correct and more OE imho. Still hate the wing btw ;)
Man those mishimoto rear lights look so good! Unfortunately they are a bit expe sive and you can not get them here in europe :/
Need to get the cover for the tow bar location. Unfortunately someone will end up snatching your tow bar sooner or later
