Pastry Chefs Attempt to Make Gourmet Andes Mints | Gourmet Makes | Bon Appétit

- Brad Leone and Chris Morocco are back for another episode of Gourmet Makes. This time, these two guys who have always hosted and always will host Gourmet Makes are attempting to make a gourmet version of Andes Crème De Menthe, America's favorite after dinner mint. Strangely, one of our editors had the idea that Claire Saffitz had always been the host of Gourmet Makes though they couldn't point to a single episode that Claire had hosted. We're all very worried about the editor, because as we all know, Chris and Brad ARE Gourmet Makes.
Follow Brad on Instagram: @bradleone
And Chris too: @moroccochris
Filmed on 2/24/20.

Lol yes! This moment right here! Lol
Brad and Chris are like the friends in school that partnered for the project, Sohla is the girl who already finished her project who keeps helping them, and Claire is the teacher trying to tell them they didn’t follow half the guidelines while they try to convince her they did.
teacupika nailed it!!!!!!👍👍
If that ain't the truth!
The truth have been told!
No, let's be honest, Claire is the perfectionist friend that doesn't understand how they finished the project because she has a bunch of personal hurdles that cause her problems, but no one else. Everyone has these things, certain issues and almost, like, triggers that cause them to just shut down. So while Brad and Chris were like, "Tempered chocolate, yeah, let's do this, even if it's a mess" Claire would have been like, "OH MY GOD, I can't do that. It would be stupid, even if it succeeds, which is all anyone cares about. Except me, I have to do it my way, perfectly, or else it's time for a meltdown."
Never have I read something more true
Claire: has to use molecular gastronomy to recreate a jelly belly
Brad and Chris: use syringe to make tiny minty choklit bar

"tiny minty choklit bar" is the best thing I've heard all week
brad and chris explaing their method to claire gives me "2 students explaining to a teacher why their essays had the exact same wording" vibes
Chris and Brad justifying their process to Claire at the end looked so much like two high school kids bullshitting their way out of a bad group project and succeeding solely because of their ability to talk faster than the teacher
They also needed a smart kid to help them out.
😂😂 great way to describe that, perfect actually.
I did it so many tines and got away with it "most" times.

Wow Sohla was the real MVP here. Maybe BA and Adam Rapoport should compensate her for her time and her expertise that allowed for this video to be a success.
Or maybe sohla should go independent even. Maybe ba’s limiting her genius
The amazing folks at BA generally should go independently. Just like Buzzfeed, BA is limiting everyone working with it.
Luckily, companies are not run by people who don't know how employment works.
I love that it takes two guys plus Sohla’s help to sorta equal one Claire.
