I moved from New York City , to Miami and then moved to Lakeland 5 years ago. And this video you recording is the 1 small area of low income area in Lakeland. Why not show all the million dollar mansions around the lakes, Or all the beautiful parks, or our downtown area and you stayed in a 1 mile radius off memorial and Brunell. Idk your video to me is no way whatsoever remotely close to what Lakeland is really like.

We got priced out of North Port after living there for 3 years, Ian was the nail in the coffin, and moved to Lakeland. What you said is 100% true. We had to leave after only a few months because it was so bad. You are saving a lot of people a lot of trouble by being so upfront. I miss FL a lot, but not Polk county

It’s a shame that you purposely went to the lowest of the lowest towns and then everything you talk about is race and poverty, Polk County is no different than any other country in the country, you got low income, medium income and high income areas, if you really feel this way about Polk County maybe you need to move to a “better” county. And get your numbers straight, you say 2024 but the numbers your quoting are 2020, there are many nice areas, nice people/neighborhoods but you did a great job of avoiding them. That was way too much complaining and negative talk for me to ever listen again, I hope you find your happy place, oh and bless your heart

I think Polk County has always been known as the laughing stock of Central Florida. I've been going there consistently since I was a small child and in that short time I've seen it turn into this beautiful rural central Florida area with rolling hills and beautiful citrus for miles on end, to literally some of the crappiest, nastiest, and most depressing places in the entire state. From some of the most economically depressed towns in Florida, to some of the most soulless and cookie cutter garbage suburbs like Davenport. I went to Lakeland in 2012 and as far as I'm concerned, nothing about that city stands out. It's ugly for being a Florida city. You have a downtown and some shopping and dining there, but Lakeland just feels like every other generic city in the United States. Places like Lake Wales, Winter Haven, and Haines City to the east have all become run down and infested with drugs and poverty. It's really off putting visiting Polk County when on one side of the street you have dead oranges, mobile homes, and run down buildings, and the other side of the road, you have soulless apartments and shopping centers being built. Run down rural scenery to garbage cookie cutter development. Traffic there has gotten so absolutely horrendous now, especially Interstate 4 at the US 98 and US 27 exits. And let's not forget all the mining that has ruined the landscape along with all the dead orange groves along Scenic Highway. Except the Legoland parks, it's a poor, that's been destroyed both ecologically and economically speaking. Almost everything wrong with the state of Florida is present in Polk County. And on top of that, no beaches. Orlando and Tampa areas have so much more to offer, but unfortunately, everything is getting too expensive and people need affordable options being outpriced.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Absolutely. It's tragic man:(. That whole south side of the county is a wasteland. It was so upsetting driving down Scenic Highway last week outside of Frostproof when almost all of the citrus crops have damn near been wiped out.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS How does Lake County compare to Polk ? I've been through Tavares and Mt Dora once and they were beautiful towns. Clermont sounds nice but the urban landscape seems too overdeveloped. I drove through Leesburg and didn't get a chance to really explore the town much, but I've seen it on a lot of lists as one of the worst cities in Central Florida. It doesn't look as bad as Polk though.

I’ve lived here 23 years and the entire center of Lakeland and South Lakeland is absolutely beautiful. I gave him a list of area that he intentionally omitted…Beacon Hill, Cleveland Heights, Edgewood, Lake Morton, New Jersey neighborhoods, Raintree…he doesn’t show ANY of those areas because it would torpedo his nasty narrative. The areas he spotlights are the outskirts of town or deep within the industrial/manufacturing area of Lakeland that are disgusting. FAKE NEWS is what he peddles. And based upon the way he “speaks” he fits right in down in the hood.

I am amazed at how you found all these armpit places in Polk county. The county is covered with 2% lakes. Spring red lakes. Kids swim with the Gators and snakes, waterski, kayak, paddle board, etc. There are wonderful beautiful houses. And Publix supermarkets was founded in Polk and is still headquartered there.

In gang communities, crime tends to be handled internally and not reported to the authorities. This might be one reason the crime numbers look better.

That's kinda sad...I lived in central Florida while in high school back in the mid to late '70s...those were nice little " Old Florida" towns then. No doubt they had their problems, but they were generally just ordinary small town and rural areas. ...that was then, this is now.

In both North and South Dakota people are moving to those states because the living is cheap despite the hard winters. well, the only exception to that is up in Northwest North Dakota, where all the oil rigs are. There’s still plenty of oil to be extracted up there so that’s the most expensive part of North Dakota to live in. But it could be worse most the pioneers who migrated out there in the early days lived in sod, houses on dirt floors.

Polk is economically depressed.
That's is and has been the main problem in Polk county, Florida not enough jobs and things to do in that county for the younger kids there. I think they should produce jobs and activities that allows younger children to earn money by cleaning up those homeless camps and neighborhoods that has been trashed throughout the entire county wide down there to. Even help them start up their own TH-cam channels cleaning that place up. And creating jobs for mowing overgrown grassy areas in and around throughout small cities in that whole county wide. Like even start up and plastic recycling center for all reusable materials like aluminum, Glass, copper, brass, steel,tin, rubber,old reclaimable wood from really bad run down buildings and etc. that's the first and best way to start up and rebuilding that county economy resources and income while persevering and saving land to repurpose to be used likewise in the same process of it all to. Cause in Area's we're those offender's live at the other people can relocate away to A different place. Further down the road to help distance the ones who need it the most to around there as well to.

While there is a section of Pasco that is called Spring Hill the actual town of Spring Hill is in Hernando County. The worst area in Pasco is along Route 19 from County Line Road going south. Hudson, Holiday and Port Richey have become cesspools. 30 years ago I would have readily moved to those areas.

people move to Polk county work either in Tampa or Orlando, you should see the $300k+ new houses being build.conmuting times to Tampa or Orlando is 1.5-3 hrs each way and is 100 mile round trip,you will be putting 2k miles on your car a month.think hard if you work in Tampa or Orlando before you move to Polk county.
Very accurate video! It’s also true that people in Polk county Love sheriff Judd! They think he is the greatest sheriff that ever existed, but the reality is he has been sheriff for around 20 years and his county consistently ranks in the top ten worst crime counties in the state. Currently Polk county is 9th worst crime county out of 67 counties. He should have been fired years ago, but he is pretty good at distracting people from his record with his tough talk on tv/ TH-cam every time he makes an arrest. People in Polk county need to wake up and look at the facts and get rid of that guy. Judd is a good TH-camr but not a good sheriff. People are not moving to Polk county because of sheriff Judd, they are moving there because it’s cheaper than most places in Florida therefore it’s full of low income people.

Thanks, i didn't think it was that bad and was considering retiring there. I lived in Palm Bay in the 80s when i worked for defense contractor Harris Corp but that area is for young families. I may have to look at Cape Coral now that people are moving out and costs are correcting. I want a plate to relax and i grew up on a late lake, rural area, in upstate NY. I enjoy cooler weather but my skiing days are gone at my age and i funny like shoveling snow anymore. Your thoughts? I mostly want a friendly neighborhood that is relaxed and a free things to do at my age when if it's just give for walks. I've had it with the bureaucracy of working on large gov contracts in the DC swamp area, so Florida seems right. And I'm not new to it.

And you can survive by fishing and hunting for wildlife down there to without starving to death. With access to fishing poles and other gear needed for those purposes to. Shared and spread out amongst the communities around the entire county wide to. Which would give the kids something to do and create places to go for fun again. To help keep them out of trouble. Like sailing half priced fishing and hunting licence for A year.,or four years tops. So it can help out with the food supply crisis and shortages going on. And help with removing invasive fish species to with that ketch and keep act program. With handbooks and pamphlets for identifying those to bye. And possibly getting income for doing it through the government to. Like splitting the pay rate for kids in half of what adults would earn for doing that job. Cause would be required to be in school mostly anyways right. Make it spring break jobs and summer time Jobs.

Polk County is the best. Everyone in this country 55 and up should do whatever it takes to live in the greatest community in the state - Lake Ashton. Just minutes from Legoland and Bok Tower Gardens. Gated, guarded, three clubhouses, golf, tennis, pickleball, endless clubs and special events. Tell your friends.

I have not even watched the video but everything you say here is true. This county sucks ass. I drove there for work everyday for 6 months. It's a very depressing place. It's run down. I don't care what anyone says. Oh and all the Lakes in Polk County are filthy! A lot of people there from south of Texas.
Lakes are not supposed to look like the public pools...They have plants and fallen leaves decaying, plus some algae...It's all part of nature...
