Can we just take a second to admire the *theme*? It’s a theme of exploration and excavation, of scientific analysis of the unknown, and using technology to solve problems. These are the themes presented by the demoscene, and indeed all of hacker culture (90s definition, not modern definition). I think that’s why I still enjoy this demo over debris, it just speaks to me particularly.
Brilliant visuals, music, and general feel. It's admirable that Farbrausch dared to go beyond the ever-same demo rituals like tunnels, spikey balls, and techno-style music. This gives the demo a sense of wonder that was rare in the last decade.
Besides being just gorgeous, FR's demos are the best benchmarking tool I know of for public PCs where you can't install anything. Turn everything up to max, hit "Demo" and the PC that does better than a slideshow might be worthy!
That was flawless, amazing, incredible, awe inspiring, full of general inspiration and well I could go on but it won't describe well enough. The parts I liked were the ship, the warping effect and the scenes in space, that part hooked me like a tuna, all in all I loved it.
2:29 hahahahaha! Brings back memories of Triton's "Crystal Dream 2"... the chord progs, the spacey theme, the technical brilliance... delicious. Anyway, fucking amazing job all around, dudes. :-)
Everytime I build new PC I run this FR-063 benchmark, this demo is part of my childhood, so everytime I got new build I can check which area is improved (the lag) I remember watching the coloring marbles part only got 5 FPS now it's totally smooth:D

@eliotcougar actually its polygonal, its also tesselated/mipmap controlled/when-u-get-closer-higher-detail... dx9's answer to dx10's tesselation I guess...
Nice work guys! The 3D fractal in the end blows my mind. Do you precalc. it during the demo? Sure eats alot more cpu than meats the meat! lol Damn nice work!
I love this kind of thing :) It's even better when you see it running on your own machine. It adds an extra layer to it. Though, my computer isn't powerful enough to run it at 1680x1050 in full screen HAHA. I do have a Q6600 and a 8800GTS 640, but it only seemed to want to run windowed at lower resolutions. All the physics processing slowed it down at some points. Especially that last scene with the displaced geometry
@xoen6 : I guess you prefer some HipHop crap instead. You don't get it do you ? Elevator tunes are not designed to fit any visuals. The tune in this prod is.

13 years later and there's still parts of this demo that makes my RX 5700XT choke.
Hmm, SPH fluid simulator. And the Mandelbulb 3D fractal simulation along with nice futuristic audio synths.
