Also, in Split, when he goes to the train station, when he lays flowers on the platform, I always wonder why he did that but after multiple viewing and seeing Galss it all cones together he was paying his respects for the 117 train crash that Kevin's father was on and the same train crash that David Dunn survived.
For as many times as I’ve watched Frailty (which is a lot because it’s an excellent movie), I never noticed the lack of blood with the demons. I am going to have to remember this the next time I watch it.
Frailty and A Perfect Getaway never get brought up enough in talks of horror! They're both great movies! It's been a while since I last watched it so I could be getting the specifics wrong but in APG there's also another great subtle hint at the couple's true identity when they're looking at a picture of the other couple in the movie. Steve Zahn's character says "suitable for framing" which at the time, you would logically assume that he's taking about the picture itself being framed but later you realize he's actually suggesting they frame said couple for their own despicable actions
You learned not to put the spoiler alongside the title of the movie! Giving your audience a chance to skip ahead if they don't want the spoiler. I'm literally so proud. It only took you years but better late than never. Feel like a proud parent right now
Not pointed out re Angel Heart is: how Lou offers Jonny an egg (sinners Must be offered a chance of redemption) and his subtle physical changes over time (something i pointed out but the group thought were continuity errors until the end). Loved that movie.
I always felt that High Tension cheated. There were murders that the "killer" did completely with brute force that she straight up didn't have and could never have done, not in the way shown. A mislead.
10. You’re Next 9. Ghostland (AKA Incidents in a Ghostland) 8. Split 7. Last Night in SoHo 6. Dead Silence 5. High Tension (AKA Haute Tension / Switchblade Romance) 4. One Cut of the Dead 3. A Perfect Getaway 2. Angel Heart 1. Frailty
I haven't seen "High Tension" in a while but i remember that the twist was hinted at as early as the first scene, when Marie has a dream that involves a broken doll, which hints at her split personality.
I was watching the perfect getaway with my then boyfriend. I paused and said how boring it is that we already know what will happen. And then I said this is what I would do, I call every plot point out. We were both stunned!
I love twists as long as they aren't out of nowhere, sprinkling in details that you miss and have to catch on re-watch are great, but I hate twists that are just for the sake of twists
Frailty is talked about more often, which is good. One Cut of the Dead is great once you see everything play out. It's great for repeat watching to really appreciate what they do in it. Angel Heart has always been a FAVORITE of mine (see what I did there? lol). I need to watch A Perfect Getaway. It's been on my watch list for awhile. High Tension is just so grimy, yikes. But should be required viewing for horror fans. Ghostland is really dark. More than I expected but again, should be on every watch list for horror fans. I like Dead Silence because of the concept alone and how it was executed. So early 2000s which I really like.
I really like "A Perfect Getaway". My elderly mother and I do a movie day about once a year and she's chosen "A Perfect Getaway" a couple of times because she can't remember that she saw it (just watches a lot of movies so no other reason) so when we watch it (again), she starts to "feel" like she's watched it but can't remember the beats of the movie which means each time that she watches it she enjoys it and is surprised by the twist. I sometimes forget the twist too if it's been a few years since we've watched it. It's a great movie for people who like psychological thrillers. The actors do a great job being ambiguous which means the script was tight too to keep you guessing and guessing.
High Tension is awful. The twist is absolutely impossible, when you think about the events that lead to them getting to the victim's house. Perfect Getaway is the exact opposite, and is an absolutely perfect example of a twist being done correctly.
Friday 5 pretty much tells you it wasn't jason with the different mask used on posters and in the movie....that Last Night in Soho one is pretty obvious when you rewatch it, yeah.
"A Perfect Getaway" - 'images of the bride and groom are nowhere to be seen' they say over a photo that clearly contains all the bridesmaids with the bride in the middle. 🙄🙄
WhatCulture is good for exactly one thing, and it ain't accuracy! These little, often innacurate blurbs, at least help me discover movies to watch. I legitimately knew nothing about the Terrifier franchise until I saw it on one of these lists.
I know this should just be the norm, but since it isn't, let me praise you for *not revealing the twist right along the movie titles.* That way, I can safely watch the parts of the video which won't spoil things for me, as opposed to before, when I simply skipped the entire video just to be on the safe side.
It was never meant to be a literal or deliberate depiction of it. He's climbing up sheer rock faces and developing diabetes only at specific intervals.

"Frailty" is a great movie. Especially the ending is even better when watching for the first time
I just watched it recently having no idea what the twist is. Astounding movie
@@lilmissknowitall5775 I must re watch it again for the 10th time haha
Agreed! It's probably my favourite Bill Paxton movie.
A late night hbo find in early 2000s. Amazing all the casts major stars yet never once heard about it before or after. Yeah such a gem
@@Wickedkittin aliens. "Game over man" 😂

@@themayhemofmadness7038 I never noticed it too and I seen it a few times. Now for another watch.
Two of the cracks kinda line up with the ends of different cracks running in entirely different directions. Perfect!
Yeah, the cracks at the top shouldn't meet like that, one would need to keep going...for starters.
Ya… far from perfect I’d say…

"Masked vigilantes" sorry, english is not my first language, but i don't think the masked killers from you're next were attacking criminals.
I always felt that High Tension cheated. There were murders that the "killer" did completely with brute force that she straight up didn't have and could never have done, not in the way shown. A mislead.
Frailty - The narrator of the film is also the _other_ son.
I always appreciate when Dracula or the devil, other monsters, use an obvious name like Alucard or Dr. Acula or Lou Cipher

Dead silence - the wife was a doll, the perfect doll for mary. Love that movie
One cut of the dead was amazing and hilarious
The real twist of Dead Silence is that Ella is the ''perfect doll'' made for Mary Shaw to possess. This wasn't hinted though.
Timey-wimey then swithching to the former Doctor.......in plain sight lol.
Frailty is a really underappreciated film.
I haven't seen "High Tension" in a while but i remember that the twist was hinted at as early as the first scene, when Marie has a dream that involves a broken doll, which hints at her split personality.

The cracks don’t line up “ perfectly “ and just a speculation. But “ ok” lol
speculation? theres a third movie that literally has them fight. lmao

High Tension gave itself away with the DVD cover showing the killer with the saw (?)..
When I first saw the cover, I just assumed maybe she armed herself to defend herself from the killer.
Because only villains use weapons?
The movie called Eden Lake should have been in this list.
I still say the opening scene in High Tension doesn’t make sense once you get to the end.
time to graduate to time stamps
I would love to see a sequel to Frailty. I feel you can tell a lot more story. It could be a different case or bring back Mconahey.
Yes!
They weren't kept prisoner for years in Ghostland.
High Tension is awful. The twist is absolutely impossible, when you think about the events that lead to them getting to the victim's house. Perfect Getaway is the exact opposite, and is an absolutely perfect example of a twist being done correctly.
Seriously. One of those “twists” that had me audibly say “what???” when I watched it.
I feel like Identity, The Faculty should have made this list
Friday 5 pretty much tells you it wasn't jason with the different mask used on posters and in the movie....that Last Night in Soho one is pretty obvious when you rewatch it, yeah.
The cracks don;t line up perfectly.
The only one i seen before the twist was talked about was dead slince and figured out the once i heard what mary did for work.
I never did catch that on Frailty.
Shyamalan's latest movie, "Trap," would have greatly benefitted from a twist. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop, but nope.
The twist was that there was none.
No. Not all movies need a twist. Especially his movies. It gets redundant.
"A Perfect Getaway" - 'images of the bride and groom are nowhere to be seen' they say over a photo that clearly contains all the bridesmaids with the bride in the middle. 🙄🙄

Last night in Soho is almost like the Anime movie perfect Blue
Hight Tension has the exactly same twist as Donald Kaufman's dumb script in Adaptation.
👍🏾
I find Ellie's voice sooo grating. Idk why though.

How many more times will you mention High Tension, You're Next and Split on here, watch more movies.
Is that Chris Hemsworth or Jason Stackhouse in Dead Silence?
Jason Stackhouse, I never thought the two looked all that familiar though
It's Ryan Kwanten from True Blood, an ACTOR...who looks nothing like Chris Hemsworth.
You guys repeat the same movies ALL THE TIME

High Tension was a terrible movie with great plot and an awful twist. That twist made absolutely no sense.
split It's a terrible portrayal and further stigmatizes/demonizes DID .

Everything about this list sucked and not even Ellie dulcet tones could save it.
