thanks again , I have many flowers . six plants . been fertilizing about every two weeks . have had quite a few zuccini and cukes ,, cherry tomatos. thanks to you., best little garden i have had in years. when is good to take care of powdery mildew and any other pests?
You're welcome and good to hear that , take care of the Powdery mildew in the evening time when the sun cools down (don't wanna burn the leaves) for bugs too spray in the evening time.. or if you're going to remove the manually with your hands, do it anytime.. You could always sprinkle cayenne pepper or use coffee grounds anytime of the day to get rid of some pests.. 🌱
@@Greentgarden thanks again for the spraying info. it's amazing the remedies you come up with , cayenne pepper or coffee grounds. no one has any thing on you , for sure !!!!!!!! bob
None of my pumpkins made it so far, but today I woke up to have my 1st tiny baby watermelon. Any tips I can use to help it and any more make it? I greatly appreciate all your knowledge u share ,, I watch everyday trying to help my situation as well as learn. Thanks for any help , hope u have a blessed day 🙏
Sorry to hear about your pumpkin, So with the watermelon you do wanna to put something underneath it to be protected rotten at the bottom there. Something like a basket or a piece of plywood.. also increase your fertilizer , and Keep adding every 2 weeks.. Try to stick to a water schedule. I normally water every 2 to 3 days but as the weather is hot , I water everyone 1-2 days.. and thank you so much 🙏🏾🌱
@@Greentgarden thanks so much I will do these things, I used cardboard under my pumpkins that's didn't make it, is that possibly why they didn't? Is cardboard bad, when rained I even switched it out so would stay dry.
So with cardboard when it rains the cardboard will get wet and loose apart and if it's wet and underneath your pumpkin it may cause rotten.. definitely don't use cardboard there
Thank you! I’ll go prune my butternut squash in the morning. I’ll be sure to fertilize, too. This is my first season trying out squash. An interesting learning experience for sure. I appreciate your video!
Oh awesome! Pruning definitely helps ! Good luck and enjoy! Butternut squash is a beautiful plant, very delicious and tasty and they produce a lot! Thank you 🙏🏾🌱
Hello Green T Garden. My name is Annette. I have a garden, and my cantaloupe is putting out all male flowers. I was looking on TH-cam to see if anyone else had this problem. Your channel was the first one that came up. I will be trying your suggestions. I just subscribed to your channel. My channel is Kitchen Garden Farmhouse. Thanks for your helpful information. I have family in Long Island, New York. God Bless - from Florida.
Sorry that you're having a problem. It's basically common in certain plants , what to do is pinch off some of the male flowers and do a light pruning. It does speed up the growing process bringing in female flowers.. It's always good to plant more than 2 to 3 plants so this way you could cross pollinate too.. Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel. I do appreciate it and I'm really happy that you're a gardener to love my fellow gardeners and super excited to hear you have family in Long Island. It's a beautiful place out here.. Have a wonderful and blessed week ahead and enjoy the gardening
I’m growing sweet baby watermelon. I’ve only gotten one watermelon that seems to be doing fine. But my plant is growing leaves but no flowers. So I did prune some today hopefully I can get some flowering.
Definitely pruning with help and also increasing your fertilizer and repeating it fertilizer every 2 weeks.. also stick with a water schedule watermelon like a little bit extra water
@@Greentgarden ill come back and give you an update for sure. I have 4 squash and 4 pumpkin. Only 1 pumpkin has 1 female that I did hand pollinate. All the plants are 4 to 6 ft Long already

Oh absolutely! I remove some male flowers all the time... Make sure to increase your fertilizer to female needs more nutrients than male 🌱 and your welcome.. have a wonderful day 🌱
Last question my sweet baby watermelon trellis are browning but my sweet baby can fit in the palm of my hand, maybe 4” no yellow spot. Not sure if it’s harvesting because of size.
Love your channel it has been very helpful to me but I am wondering if I have no female flowers on my squash plant and only two males, I also noticed that I got a lot of leaves I think I over fertilized with too much nitrogen should I go ahead and cut out all of the blooming male plants and just wait for the other flowers to bud and see what happens
Sorry to hear , I would leave the male flowers at the moment and prune out some of the lower leaves. Do not add any fertilizer. Just add some calcium to the plant.. And give. It time... The calcium will strengthen up the fruit that's come in and the pruning will speed up the growing process and the only thing after it's time... You got this .. it will be good .. and thank you so much.. happy gardening 🌱

Love your tips. I pruned leaves fertilized and cut some males from my mini pumpkin plants. Still no female flowers. I think plants are still too close together? I don’t have a large area to plant. Help 😮
I am so sorry to hear that. Sometimes it's okay to plant a bit close , once your puring some leaves off , increase the fertilizer and maintain the water it'll have no problem growing.. Definitely prune when you have about 10 leaves... The other thing you have to watch is your water. Try to stick with a water schedule.. , do not water too much or too little ... Also I recommend adding fertilizer every 2 to 3 weeks ... Pumpkin plants need more water and fertilizer cuz it's a bigger plant... You got this ! 🌱
@Greentgarden oh yeah, there's even a gap between the stem to where (I think)the squash is. I'm waiting to see once the color is more yellow because that's when I'll know for SURE😁
Nope ! I wouldn't do that , depending on the type of the variety, some watermelon plant. The plants would only produce about 2 to 4 watermelons so you do not want to take a chance to lose one..
So if you have any other plants like squash, zucchini, pumpkins, you could take pollen from the male flowers and apply it to these female cross pollination , and I will definitely do a light pruning
