This is my favorite Boston song. Boy, I wish that I got to see Boston live, back in the day. I was a teenager when the first album came out. it was loaded with hits

Saw them last night in GI Nebraska. First time to see them after being a fan for 39 years. Tommy and Ms Cohen adequately make up for the loss of Brad. The band was tight and it had a sound very similar to the albums. For those that say it isn't Boston without Brad, I can see your point. Unfortunately he isn't around any longer. For others who say this is a knockoff band....Boston was always Tom Scholtz and whoever he had playing. The rest with the possible exception of Brad, were hired guns. Exceptional show and very entertaining.

Sounds great, I definitely want to see them in Columbus in Aug. I don't care if it takes 7 people to get the right sound now, at least they're being faithful to the music.

That's just a really nice job. Love that they have all the extra musicians to stack the backup vocals. They really sound good. Kim has a great backup voice. This was an all around solid live rendition.

I really think (smoke rising) ..... Tom Scholz's guitar tone is my favorite hands down, it's a perfect blend of chorus and distortion, his rockman gear is awesome, a friend of mine used to use his rockman when we recorded and we got some great sounding music with it, for anything anyone might be able to say bad about Tom the mans a genius, 6 years before he single handedly wrote and recorded what came to be one of the best selling albums in music history (5 million+ copies sold) the man had never played a guitar, he then, invented the Power Soak and the Rockman, he's got a pretty impressive resume!

These vids, and the responses, follow the same old pattern: 1) Band becomes successful 2) one or more band members die 3) band DARES to carry on, with replacements for dead former members 3) Tube-trolls run the surviving band down, as "greedy #$!$##$ grave-robbers, that new members suck, etc. & etc. (I can't wait 'till the Eagles DARE to tour again w/out Frey, just watch the trolls howl...)

As an original Boston fan when they released their debut album in ‘76, and having seen the original band live 3 times between ‘78 and ‘88, it’s hard to accept these future incarnations. I’m not taking away from their talent, I’m saying it’s not the exactly the same sound and experience. But Rock lives on! 👊🇨🇦

Bradley Delp was absolutely the G.O.A.T. but Tommy is a better live performer than he was. Delp seemed to really struggle with pitch in concert where Tommy only occasionally gets "pitchy..."

Yes, Brad Delp had an amazing voice. So did Steve Perry of Journey. And yes, they were the greatest. But I get tired of fans whinning about how other lead vocalists don't measure-up, can't compare, it's not Journey or another band without them, blah, blah, blah!
Someone always writes about how they saw them back in '79 or 80 something in their heyday. You know, some of us couldn't go to those concerts. We were too young, too broke, serving in the military like me, or whatever. I am thankful those bands just didn't fold-up when they lost those great voices. If they would have listened to some of you, they would have.
I got to see Boston, Kansas, Journey and The Doobie Brothers in 2015 and 2017 and those shows were dreams come true. I saw three generations of fans at those shows celebrating the music of my youth. I saw silver-haired guys with their grandchildren on their shoulders rocking. I sat beside two 20 year-olds rocking when they could have been listening to hip-pop, rap-crap B.S.
Quitcherdamnbitchin! The show must go on...

I agree with everything you said with the exception of bands like Molly Hatchet.
Every single original band member is deceased so the people touring today as "Molly Hatchet" are literally a cover (or tribute) band. Once EVERYONE is gone, a band's "brand" should be retired.
But as long as a founding member or two is still kicking, as is the case with Lynyrd Skynyrd, then I say, "Rock on."

@@johncanillas8939 don't deflect onto me. that is an incredibly strong statement to make about a musician whose name you cannot even spell correctly. i'll give him props for his ability to run his pick up the strings to make it sound like a spacecraft is taking off better than anybody else. and he did co-write one of the best debut albums of all-time, meaning a lot to me from living just outside boston. but dude. the actual "band" (which was actually only tom and brad) didn't have a song that charted since '90, the last actual legit single being "cool the engines" in '86. touring like this is essentially being a tribute to yourself. this is no different than skynyrd touring and calling themselves that still when it is only 1 member of a band that used to have a dozen or so. ridiculous.

DeCarlo: great voice, poor stage presence
Beth: WTF is a chick doing in an iconic band? Adds no value to this band. (I'd say the same thing if a dude joined the GoGos)
Tom Scholz: greedy, controlling, manipulative, a controlling Mfer who contributed to Delp's suicide (courts prove this) and has made the current incarnation of Boston nothing more than a tribute band.

    • @jrock2264

Of course, John T., you know Tom Scholz personally, which gives you the right to run him down as this "controlling MF-er...", right? Oh, and re Brad Delp, his suicide had nothing to do with his clinical depression, right? As far as "the courts" proving your blast of hot air, we give you opportunity to prove yourself: Quotes, please, from the court transcripts, which prove your point (hint: If you are going to quote from "Hit Parader/Rolling Stone/National Enquirer", don't bother...)
