      Yeah. I would have fired him the first day. Way too many notes. No groove. He played like he was the only guy on the stage. Just awful. There is no way he played on those records.

      Fran is a great bass player but it was Tom Schultz that wrote and recorded the bass on the album to this song and 98% of the first 3 albums. Fran only recorded a very small amount of bass

      Ugggg,,, he's rushing so bad. There is no groove what so ever. Way too many notes. These guys are so inexperienced at live performance and it shows. There just up there playing parts. Boston wasn't a band, it was a Tom Schultz project. Great record but, I highly doubt if Fran played a note on the record.

      Yes, Barry Goudreau was a key ingredient in the original lineup. Too bad Scholz felt they could no longer work together. As far as Sib, he was a fine drummer but I think Jim Masdea’s drumming was more powerful and may have been a better fit. Rock And Roll Band’s drum parts from the debut are standouts imo.

    Barry Goodrow was definitely an asset. Great guitar player and voice one of a kind just like Brad Delp. But I did recall something years ago, Tom got his rocking sound from Barry Goodrow's, amplifier with a blown resistor. Either or the XPR modulator, One was supposedly used by Barry goudreau on stage, couldn't buy that one I believe it was an XPR a, gentleman would not sell it to me but he had an XPR. Which I bought, either or you can't beat anything with Boston's music and technology at the time, this band is my favorite and what all of them have achieved, will be in history books or at least mine.

    I like how Tom Scholz often would just slide up a couple of frets to hit a note instead of bending the string a couple of frets back. Unless you have a great ear for pitch and vibrato, players should consider this a bit more. Just a different approach that works.

    • @BornToShred6900

      Or you can get ear training classes so you have better tuning

    • @chrisknapp3413
      @chrisknapp3413 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why not , do bolth, to me hitting a note or cord sounds better than just , bending a string to achieve a cord, only if you're playing a lead, or just put a capo on it , drop it down, a few frets. Detune. Have somewhat of an ear tuning but it's always one note flat which is good for a recording. But what the hell do I know about a guitar.
