    One of The most interesting “game changing” feature of tuis lens is that 30cm focus distance capability. I shoot the Q over an equivalent M 28mm system because of that and now Leica made it possible on an M lens. Can’t wait to test it. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, the Q and Q2 are great cameras with the 28mm Lux lens. I'll be doing a video shortly on "One Body One lens" where I discuss the APO 35mm with the M10-R vs the Q2 with its 28mm lens.

    am thinking of getting one. im torn between the 28mm summilux as i mostly take landscape photos.

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's a personal choice. If you only have one lens, personally, I prefer the 35mm. These days, with Lightroom and other post processing software, stitching photos together to make a wide shot is getting easier all the time. In fact for landscape, I'm often shooting 50mm and 90mm to bring points of interest closer to fill the frame of view more.

      28 lux is the best lux period, 35 APO is the best APO and 35 😂 good luck 😅

    Hello my friend. Confused between this lens and the New Leica Summilux M 1:1.4/35 ASPH ! Which one do you think is better with the Leica M10R Black Paint?

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. For my Leica M10R black paint, I found a used Leica 35mm f2 Summicron (Black Paint version). Quite pricey but looks fantastic matched to the camera. Re image quality, the Summilux Asph is outstanding (older or the close focus version). The APO 35mm (close focus) is even sharper. I think my preference of the two is the Summilux over the APO Cron because it's faster and a little more bokeh because of that.

    how do you find the app against the lux fle, do you think it's worth the extra?

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me it was, to get the close focus of 0.3m with the APO.

    Hi
    In your opinion, which is better, with APO 35mm Summicron lens ? Leica M10-R or Leica M11 ?

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The APO 35mm is outstanding for both the M10-R and the M11. My choice which M body to use, in my case, is the looks of the body. My M10-R is the black paint version, very nice for evening events, dinner. It's a bit like, which watch to wear with your outfit. I used my M11 for my recent Central Australia adventure tour.

    Wonderfull lens! It's a pity that that focus so close is impossible to use whit a film M camera

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The joys of film. I like doing selfies with the APO 35mm lens. You soon learn to set the right focus distance (0.42m) @ f2. I guess, guessing with film is costly, around $1.00 per frame. (cost of film, processing, digitising, proof, around $36 AUD per 36 shots). Shooting around 50,000 digital shots per year...... Still love shooting film from time to time.

    Have you tried on Leica SL2? I was thinking I will sell the 35Apo SL when this tiny one arrives

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have a Leica SL2 at this stage. So can't answer your question. My understanding (according to Peter Karbe - Leica's Master Lens designer) the SL 35mm APO is considered to be the best. The M version is smaller and therefore almost as perfect as the SL version. Do you have an M camera?

  • @BackFocus11
    @BackFocus11 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m investing my next purchase in this lens for my M10-R. NOT buying the M11. I’ll get the next model after that down the road. Glass is a GREAT investment.

    The only problem with having a summicron is still wanting the summilux!

    • @Adventure8
      @Adventure8  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Completely agree. I'm about to bring out another video comparing the new APO Summicron to the Summilux. Spoil alert.... If your budget allows - get both....

    No, the excellent Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 35mm 2.0 Aspherical Lens which have outstanding optical image quality ! You can use the (US)$8000 you save on a lot of other things, so the Voigtländer are the most versatile Lens !!!
