I took a philosophy class in college. First question the professor asked, "What gives a table, tableness?" I knew I was in the wrong class and 40 years later I still don't have an answer.
A table is called many things in different languages and cultures. For many around the World, it's a dirt floor... Philosophy classes cause us to expand our minds, opens our eyes to see things from a different perspective... ? I chose to become a Paralegal 30+ years ago. Pays far better at $200/hour. $50/hour for travel time. My then-young son once asked me: Mom, what does it mean to think outside the box? I replied. He was in 3rd grade. He said: but what if it's a triangle with a geodome on one side, and an equilateral parallelogram on the other side. He was 9. My reply? NOW YOU'RE THINKING. I made him his fav meal for dinner that day. Fajitas, and we had a wonderful convo about how someone invented an internal-combustion engine, how it was made to a motor car (Henry Ford), how someone else said Why not headlights? Then someone else said, brake lights, a windshield? Internal lighting? Seat comfort? Heated seats? How many cylinders, and what a VIN is? How many cup holders? A/C? Why not put a radio in? Brilliant minds DO NOT think alike. We think differently. He blew me away when he was 5. Fun game in the car? I love you bigger than "that tree, that fire truck, bigger than the sky". That little runt said: Mom, I love you bigger than all the ABCs, because that's all of the words. Melted my heart in a pool at my feet, and blew me away. His mind is incredible. Think outside the box? 2 questions: Q1. If you could buy any car, price is no object, what would it be? Lock your brain on it. My answer? The most expensive one on the planet, auction it off, get the one I want, and pocket the few million in change. Q2: If you only had ONE wish, what would it be? World Peace, a bazillion dollars, end World hunger or disease? Hold that thought. My answer? UNLIMITED MORE WISHES, of course... That, my friend, is thinking outside of the box, with an intelligent kick... 👏

Philosophy is a great subject, it should be taught more. There are many different branches, teaching more logic and arguments would help peole to communicate more effectively.
This guy is smart and funny, audio is a bit to low but I use a 35 watt PA stereo with 60's altec column speakers, so I just turn it up - great for music playback also and a PA when I sing n play the guitar, So um im good
It’s comedy but Philosophy, I learned more than any other subject. Learn how to think and write. People always rant about certain subjects not being practical which is just dumb as that’s entire different talk and never point of an education. Setting that aside, Philosophy has been the most practical. Not my favorite subject but the most practical in the “real world”. It is fun to dig in too
Haha. A liberal arts degree gives you a foundation into any career. Also, following up with a professional degree it can be great. Many philosophy majors go to law school.

Dry Bar, he wasn't talking directly into his mic. Made it challenging for me to hear. You could have these "questionable" comedians show up 2-3 hours early. Do the mic check. Then take em out to dinner. Drop reminders as needed in discussion. Enjoy the show. Dry Bar, IMO you are one of the best acts on TH-cam.
