I read this as Airplane and was ready to see the nun take that guitar and start doing an acoustic cover of a rap song or something. This was definitely a nice surprise.
Excuse me, but Aretha Franklin was not a rap artist by a long shot, and her song “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” was not a rap song… and that was the song done in Airplane!
To everyone - the movie "Airplane" (aka "Flying High"), has a scene that is a DIRECT parody of this scene. The little sick girl here is Linda Blair ("Exorcist.").
It would have been funny if they got Linda Blair to play the part in "Airplane" also...after the nun finishes her song she turns around and Linda barfs green stuff all over her!
so i mistook this for the “Flying High” movie (which is called Airplane in some countries) and i was anticipating a comedy bit throughout the whole thing. but this was quite nice haha
This to me is the better version of this song than what she released in real life. Airport 75 is the movie. Airplane was a parody of all the airport and disaster movies of the 70’s
@@steveweinstein3222 Maybe, but not in the "unintentionally HILARIOUS" manner you're discussing. Maybe a smirk, but hilarious??? What strikes me is how casual everything is presented on this plane. The title of the video is wrong. It should be: Airport 1975 (1974) How it reads would seemingly be for the original movie "Airport" which was 1970. The title of this movie is Airport 1975 and it was released in October of 1974. The Exorcist was still showing in theaters when this came out.
This was the time when disaster movies took grip of Hollywood. Krakatoa east of java.. Airport.. Earthquake.. The Poseidon Adventure.. The Towering Inferno.. etc.. were all in rave.. and so were some of their movie themes...
this is a beautiful scene.. but I'm not gonna lie... Isn't it frankly a bit rude on a late night flight to bust out a guitar and start loudly singing while very taxed and tired people are trying to sleep just right nearby?...
There is only one river, there is only one sea🎶🎼🎵🎼🎶🤣
there is only one me and myself .
There are many, many seas and even more rivers. That's just basic geography.
I know right ? I thought she was gonna kill the patient like in the airplane movie and then later realized this is the “ serious airplane “ version
🎶WE ARE THE FATHER!!!🎶☠️☠️💉
I wanted to know if life had a purpose and what it all means in the end
What a spacious cabin!
Helen can really sockit to me!! I really RESPECT that..

exact same here, I just kept waiting for something wacky to happen any minute lol
LOL Totally got me too! I can't believe I listened to this whole thing till the end just waiting for the punchline!😆
It was 1975. Mercifully there was no RAP.
Excuse me, but Aretha Franklin was not a rap artist by a long shot, and her song “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” was not a rap song… and that was the song done in Airplane!
😂me too
RIP Helen Reddy.
It’s hard not to laugh when you just saw the spoof Airplane. Especially with Linda Blair of the Exorcist.
I'm waiting for the flight engineer in the cockpit to turn to camera and smile, lol.😂😅

@@MickPosch Yes, it would.
Am i the only one thinking of the movie airplane while watch this.
Yeah. Just realized that Airplane is probably only a spoof of this movie. Here I thought Airplane was an original.
Isn't that the logan paul one
if so
ew
@@zachbocchino5501 same. Didn’t even know this movie existed
@@axolotl7084 No, Airplane is older than Logan Paul and this is even older. 😂
Airplane is a parody of this movie
This song gives me a chills and goosebumps forever

I confess, I will never get over my crush on Helen Reddy

As funny as the takeoff in Airplane! was, this scene defies parody because it's so unintentionally hilarious. It's a meta-parody.
It's actually because you've seen Airplane that you think that.
@@TheIndependentLens Of course, but I'd like to think I'd find it so anyway.

@@TheIndependentLens Right? As though you can bring a guitar on an airplane without buying an extra seat - even if you're a nun.
Come on Helen…swing that guitar and pop her IV out!
That’s Linda Blair from The Exorcist.
The Nun is singer Helen Reddy I think.
That's why I searched for this clip! :)
@@MikeBroderick33 From Pete's Dragon
I'm sure she was cast in this movie because she was coming off the success of "Exorcist" the prior year.
I didn’t know Linda was also in this one too...! :0 She’s also in The Chill, Repossessed, even Roller Boogie! ^^
Forgot Helen made an appearance in this movie. And she made a great guitar solo too. She wasn't just a great voice.
She definitely acted too. She is also in Disney's "Pete's Dragon."
I’m actually in the middle of watching this film ,she had an amazing voice ,what an incredible cast of different people.
Yes it's old skool time
BEAUTIFUL this song. And version.❤👍💐.REST IN PEACE HELEN GODBLESS YOU AMEN🙏🕊🦋🌹❤

The Airplane movie is a parody of Airport saga
But "Airplane" is based on "Zero Hour" with some scenes making fun of the "Airport" movies.
Oddly, this is funnier than the Airplane version!
