I'm just a competent home diy mechanic but after watching practically all Jimmy's videos, I diagnosed a blocked vaporiser before Jimmy announced what it was. Guess I've now graduated from Jimmy's online mechanics course😁
Good to watch someone who knows what they are doing 👍 someone who understands how the system works. Good to see you pass on your knowledge, most people wouldn't.
Repetition, repetition, repetition, And we will then remember. After you doing this so many time you do make it look easy. Skill and experiance is what you have, good job.
I will second what the guy below said I'v got the kit all ready to rock when the time comes with my custom. We should refer to young Jimmy as "The Master". Always a pleasure to watch you at work Jimmy. Thanks
Good lad jimmy. You must be making a fortune and why not?, the Garages are clearly not thinking outside the box then conning the customers into paying for a bad job. All the best too you.
Top of the morning, hello from the USA. Let me just say, I love the accent. Anyhow, I personally hate working on those "Ford" Transit vans. Everything on them seems to be designed to be intentionally annoying. It takes a true masochist to work at a Ford dealership.
I can't for the life of me understand why garages don't know how to fix these, they've been out years now, and still they just bolt a load of not needed parts on. Can't believe customers even pay for an unfixed van. Live data and codes, and you're 90% of the way to a fix. Great videos by the way 👍
Jimmy I have Broken down in Australia, please come to Australia to get My bFord transit going again . Your DA man Jimmy i tried Ringing you from Australia but you Don't ansewr the phone Bruv .
Hi just been watching your videos very good. I have a range rover evoque hse all wheel drive now having same problems dpf add blue injector iam trying to sort. Also have a Ford transit custom 2.2 had no problems so far but its only done 42 thousand miles very interesting about the vaporizer keep up the good work its opened my eyes to the problems both these vehicles have. Thanks again.
Hi Jimmy great videos mate I have an on going problem with my 65 plate transit pick up that it smokes really bad and spent a small fortune (4k) on new dpf egr new glow plugs new injectors new filters it drives fantastic done 147k any suggestions please many thanks Trevor
the OLD DAYS. stop a petrol engine when it's hot, take plugs out, inject 3 or 4 squirts REDEX down each plug hole[ABOUT 100CC], put rag over empty plugholes SPIN OVER ON STARTER 3 SECONDS . leave for at least an hour. refit plugs and drive it like you stole it. having 6 feet of rockwool in a string hanging out exhaust pipe was 'JUST A COINCIDENCE OFFICER'
One of the easiest test to do on a Ford and common as muck with a temperature low fault it’s so unbelievable how many garages will put a temp sensor in aswell
Every modern ford owner myself included knows it well after suffering from it and 800 squid lighter in the pocket 😂, what shocked me even the AA didn't know they just said you need a new dpf.😱
Hi Jimmy, I have the same van - 2016 2.2 Sport. Van was driving perfectly, no warning lights on dash, then all of a sudden, while driving about 75mph on the motorway, the van started shuddering and losing power. I pulled over, had to get a recovery truck to take it to the garage. Oil leaking onto the ground. It wouldn’t start, but after it cooled down it would start, but didn’t sound healthy at all. Turns out, it split a piston. Have you any idea why this would have happened…? Van was serviced regularly, and there was 70k miles on the clock.
Even the RAC couldnt find the problem on my Mondeo, I had to take it in to a engineers to get the codes read into layman's terms, it was the same issue as this chap the vapouriser valve. Not a new dpf like the rac said. How long do these valves last
P244C= the faultcode for that vaporiser, why didn't know the other garage this!? I normaly remove the whole exhaust to replace the vaporizer, because it can be verry tight! And removing the complete exhaust for me is quicker to change the vaporizer. Gr. from NL.
Have you done a video on why lights on a Ford Transit - (This Model) keeps having trouble with headlights not working when wet weather? ( I have looked - But Video Blindness after a while :-) ... Son-in-law has spent a fortune trying to get it resolved - No luck so far ...
Hey man, been through your videos, im stuck ive got p008a low pressure fuel system pressure, p246b incorrect conditions for pdf regen and p2463. Ive changed the fuel filter and the common one that breaks on the rail. Do you have any ideas please.
Does anyone have a van reliability chart? I hear Jimmy say "Ive seen one of these everyday this week/2weeks". Which vans are mechanics not seeing? I'm asking because I'm thinking of changing my '17 Transit Custom
I've followed this channel on and off probably because back in 1990/s I bought a 1 yr old showroom ( spare parts car ) yes I know * " Fix it again Tony"* The point is DPFnearly every week!! I got the filled up in readyness to travel back. Home 280km round trip when arrived back in the city on a Sunday evening I'd just get it topped ready Monday Plumber on a large university campus it would stink.of takeaways fish n chips and sure enough come Wednesday I'd after which. following thursday back to the fiat service centre for a forced regen. Week in week out . The service centre Said it was operator abuse "slow low usage" Wife innocently got me an account With another fuel tank retailer END OFF CONTAMINATED FUEL never had any problems after that.i wonder if uk diesel has high sulphur content at some garages I did get rid of the diesels in the end bought an Leaf yes in know no range😢
You would think there would have been a open circuit fault showing with vaporizer pump , didn’t point you at all to that just pressure sensor faults , vans keeping your brain ticking and active always learning ..
In my opinion it’s ok to show mechanics how to fix the problems on DPF they seam a bit slow to learn ,or they are reluctant to invest in the equipment you have ,but there will be plenty of work still for you ,you can’t fix every van in the UK ,old jimmy Scotland
It must be so frustrating for the customers spending £100’s and not having the issue sorted by the garages ! Jimmy, you need to franchise across the UK !
Tried that. I've sized down from 4 vans to just myself. Unfortunately people you hire don't care like you do as a business owner and started to affect my reputation so I sold the vans and let them go
Your surprise at the constant stream of vehicles with the same issues, despite you showing the step by step procedure to resolve it, over estimates the ability of the average bloke these days! I look after my elderly mum full time and she has carers visit 4 times a day for personal care. They are all females, various ages, some are drivers. The drivers have constant issues with their cars and I was astonished to discover how useless their partners are with even the simplest car maintenance tasks. Even routine checks like tyre pressures, oil and coolant, these blokes don't have a clue! So these poor ladies end up with catastrophic mechanical failure in some cases! And end up getting royaly ripped off by garages. I'm trying to help them get upto speed on how to do preventative maintenance but they struggle with time an money.
crafter dpf regen working as normal getting to 600 degrees resets and starts building soot as normal. Pronlem is after about 20 miles deivign regen starsz again. Sood goes from about 6mg and jumps up tp 27 all of a sudden starting a regen again. Engine runs hot on long trips becouse of the repeted regeneration processes evert 20ish miles. All the Regen Mechanics need to be sat in front of your videos and watch every single one until they have learnt
Can not get enough of your channel every day is a school day.

Brilliantly done!! Its amazing how these faults are miss diagnosed by so many places. You can only think they are blind leading the blind. 😢
I will second what the guy below said I'v got the kit all ready to rock when the time comes with my custom. We should refer to young Jimmy as "The Master". Always a pleasure to watch you at work Jimmy. Thanks
Perhaps the garages that keep missing the common vapouriser fault might catch on now, as you have done so many vlogs on the subject. 😊👍
Good lad jimmy. You must be making a fortune and why not?, the Garages are clearly not thinking outside the box then conning the customers into paying for a bad job. All the best too you.
You must be like an Angel sent by God for some of these vehicle owners lol 👌
Love the videos always good to see how you work your way through the problem and show the results.
Thanks 👍

Top man for doing these videos jimmy, back once again with the dpf master😅,.that launch fluid is good tackle mate 👍

The DPF system has caused a raft of new faults with cars and van, oh what progress. What a completel waste of time and energy.
Totally agree 👍 retarded tech.

Is there a reason why you couldn’t pump some of that cleaning fluid into the vaporiser hose to unblock it?

Saw the temp too low code + that it was a ford I knew immediately from just watching your videos its the vaporiser.
Every modern ford owner myself included knows it well after suffering from it and 800 squid lighter in the pocket 😂, what shocked me even the AA didn't know they just said you need a new dpf.😱
I have had multiple customers replace with a new dpf. And the problem comes back the next day because they use the old vaporizer.
Hi Jimmy,
I have the same van - 2016 2.2 Sport. Had this on a mates van is was a faulty injector to much fuel melted cracked piston 4
@@AnilKumar-yn6ns I removed my 4 injectors and sent them away to get tested. All were fine.

13:12 between 80 and 150 000 miles before the problem arise.

If the dpf is really really blocked could that also cause the low temperature fault and mislead people into thinking it's the vapouriser?
Opposite. Dpf temperature will increase when there is higher resistance
@@ORileysAutos Got it, thanks 👍🏻
Do you use tap water, distilled water or deionized water in the DPF clearer?
Tap
I used to use de ionised water but after speaking with a chemical specialist he's said tap water is fine
The vaporiser system is well known in the trade ,its fitted by other manufacturers too as well as Ford ,
Very good indeed, thank you 😊
What size fuel hose do you use on your gun Jimmy.
Have you done a video on why lights on a Ford Transit - (This Model) keeps having trouble with headlights not working when wet weather? ( I have looked - But Video Blindness after a while :-) ... Son-in-law has spent a fortune trying to get it resolved - No luck so far ...
Hi, could you confirm if you fitted a new vapouriser or cleaned the old one through ?
Many thanks

What dpf cleaner do you use (brand)
Is dpf cleaner like alloy wheel cleaner. Makes me think that ford can't be using a strong enough solution to keep the dpf clean on regen
Do you expect similar particulate filter problems with petrol engines now more are being with fitted with filters?

What’s up with the Ford 2.0 Ecoblue ? I have one on a Motorhome and looking to avoid trouble.
Is it same sensor on 2016 2.0 litre Ford Tourneo Custom
Location of vaporiser on 2.0 model
Jimmy should run a school & train up a few other guys around the country they’d all do well out of it.
Also my mechanic has recommended just removing DPF and remap the computer, just wondering your thoughts on that ?

As a preventative measure is it worth having an annual Terra Clean for your van or is this a waste of money?
