The last thing i heard about you was that you got into gospel. But back in the 80's when you were in your r&b days, i felt that the music industry didn't give you as credit as you deserved. Growing up, Greatest Love of All - W. Houston had major impact on me. The lyrics to Greatest Love of All are engraved in my brain. Until Regina Belle recently started popping up in my suggested....W. Houston was the only big inspiration I could think of. Then out of no where the lyrics and tears to "IF I COULD" flowed as easily as if R. Belle's song is engraved there too. Both being from NJ and I go to church with her nephew who is our choir director. Great family and very down to earth. Very talented but Whitney was in a different category than a lot of these great singers and it was hard to top back in the day !!!
It's very tasteful to know the many backgrounds in music that REGiNA BELLE has encountered , I've always been a strong fan from day one and/or the very first time that I played her music😢 and heard her raspy voice during one my Radio Shows.🎉❤
If you listen to her singing voice, she sounded way more mature than she was. I can't believe she was only 26 when she sang Make It Like It Was 😭. But they also made her look older with clothing, etc.
Yeah her styling team tea failed her. She had the looks and size to be styled much more youthful, sexy, and less matronly. I always thought she was in her early 30’s starting her career.
Regina! When I first saw her was at the Budwiser Super Fest coming out AFTER Patti LaBelle. She knocked my sox off! I loved her every since. I drove from Chicago Detroit I believe it was in the year 2013? Peabo was headlining but Regina was who I went to see! She was great and it was the first time I saw Peabo and I'll see Peabo again with nobody! He was the show but I wanted to see how Regina was! I loved it all! I'd dare Janet Jackson to do that?
I loved the Passion album and she had an incredible vocal range, like Chaka Khan, (and was absolutely stunning looking), but listening to her sing at the piano with her brother, I have to say there are shades of Bessie Smith in her voice, I didn’t know she could sing like that. An incredible voice, and model looks when she made the Passion album.

She was a few weeks older than Whitney, both were born in '63.
They look like sisters but Regina’s voice is richer, darker and has a smoky edge. It would have been fun to see them do a duet.

She could blow, she gotten older and her voice has changed. Maybe she was off on that performance or the band was playing out of key.
Late comment, but she has a brain tumor that caused her to lose hearing in one of her ears. That might explain it.
