  • "Dear viewers,
This film was one I would originally think of with my best friend when I first started a fun project, being new and war inspired takes on several beloved engines from Sodor.
This is the story of one of those engines, it is his turn to come out of the yard and see a part of the world. I hope you will love it as we loved talking about it.
    Your friend, TrainBoy."

The real 2308 was sold to Chemins de fer Ottoman d'Anatolie in Turkey after the War in France and never made it back to England. I can't get over that this is proof that short films can still have a big lasting affect like an hour long movie!

I do like the creative twist, and while I find it doesn't quite work the same way for Tobias and the Half-Pariah and Sodor Fallout, here it is carefully considered and achieves in doing exactly what it needs to to be very effective. Well done. Sincerely yours, Samuel Farris.

DAMMM that was deep when I watched it originally it was on the TV and honestly it felt like a full-blown MOVIE this was such a wonderful thing t have watched taken bits of knowledge from real life and translating it into a heartwrenching story with a character we all know and love. It truly shows what we can achieve when people who care and pour their heart and soul into something can do(TAKE THE HINT MATTEL) It is a true shame about your brother and I hope you are going fine with his loss. I'll look forward to the next six videos about it and the only complaint that I could come up with was that it wasn't long enough, but that is truly understandable because that was how long you wanted it to be and I can respect that.

This was definitely not the take on James' pre-Sodor days that I was expecting, but I absolutely love this interpretation, and especially how he got his name, it makes him feel that much more real as a character. I actually also had my own head canon of an OC based on a GWR 2301 class with the number 2308, so I thought that was a pretty funny coincidence. 😂 Great video nonetheless!

Incredible story. I guess the bottom line is, even though Mattel threw everything out of the window, the legacy of Rev. W. Awdry lives on with fan made content with stories worth telling. The plot is absolutely beautiful. It mixes the classic Thomas arc with a darker, more mature theme and gives a new perspective to a character we all know. Production can still use some more work but overall, incredible job. Well done mate!
