I've been using Thermal for years on everything from VST instruments to kicks and 808's, other bass instruments etc and I love it. Sometimes using only 1 or 2 of the 3 multiband distortion stages, only on a limited frequency range for subtler distortions (I like sometimes using very subtle applications of the built in bit crusher on these bands only having the wet % turned up to 2 or 3%) when the song calls for it and it's fantastic. It really makes everything pop with distortion, whether heavy or light, a wonderfully versatile plugin. I've also been using Portal more recently as well and it's just as good, 2 great FX plugins from Output that I use in some way on almost every track. Definitely reccommend.
hey devvon, i loved the video! definitely going to try out thermal on my next track! i‘d really like to see you try out the acqua diamond color eq 3 and diamond lift 3! my fav plugins i use on every track i mix/master. i‘d love to see your reaction 😊
I've been wanting to get Thermal for a long time now. This video was the last straw. I bought it a few days ago and I love it! In just the first few minutes of testing it, I ended up creating a new song and I have a lot of other ideas to explore. Thanks!
Output Portal + Thermal are probably the two best multi effect plugins ever made. If people start copying the model the industry could really reach new heights.
really overpriced and if u use ableton u can do even better with macros or max for live, trust me, it's just the look that fools u but IF U KNOW when to put your hands, u can do EVEN BETTER with ableton stock devices ALL FOR FREE
@@nathanspark4876creative workflow is important. as you said if you know what's happening under the hood you can recreate pretty much anything with a stock chain and automation BUT if you are in a (often open or random) creative process such plugins help a lot.
It's dope, but kinda unfair to compare to other saturation plugins due to the fact that this is essentially a chain under the hood with distortion, waveshaping, compression, reverb and delay/chorusing. It's an fx plugin more like rc-20 or effectrix than decapitator.
@@HelpMeDevvon I'm with you I'm just noting that as distortion goes we can't be sure of how well it does it because it's doing everything else too 🤷🏾♂️

If you can get more out of your distortion plugin why wouldn’t it make you happy 🤷🏽♂️
