I had the pleasure of seeing Jerry Jeff Walker play at one of Todd's concerts in Memphis once. I believe it was one of Todd's feed the hungry concerts. It was just a really damn good show
I had the pleasure of meeting Todd back in 84,83 ish in San Marcos @ Southwest Texas State . my brother and Todd's half brother went to school there I was just hanging that's where I started out got his first guitar and the pawn shop so I've been told. I think he's doing great!
It’s not about the song, it’s about where the song takes you. Sure, there are way better Jerry Jeff songs but I’m guessing Mr. Bojangles takes Todd to a place in time others can’t.
My favorite is Cowboy Boots and Bathing Suits. Takes me back to an empty bar in Chicago at 4 in the morning , playing his stuff while counting the nights drawer. I don’t know why but I’ll never forget that night/morning.
