Hello again Nelly! I love this unboxing video. I also unboxed my very own X1 AMD little a while ago. Please we would love for you to make a video with the X1 running with that EGPU using AFMF.
Thank you! I appreciate it! I haven’t really had to use AFMF because it’s been performing so well on the games I play regularly. Did you have any specific games in mind? Here’s a couple videos with the X1 and OneXGPU 2: ONEXGPU 2 Onexplayer X1 Mini 8840u Black Ops 6 Gameplay Oculink vs Thunderbolt 4 th-cam.com/video/qUW9X4TaCDI/w-d-xo.html Fortnite X1 and OneXGPU 2 th-cam.com/video/58tB4K8Qg4g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9OhVztvELjtPxE-r
@@GamingRepairs Thanks for the link. That combo is a beast and they look really good together. I'm really eager to prepare this before the Monster Hunter Wilds release. The Beta ran like crap on my LeGO, was a janky 40-50ish with that nasty frame generation, while roaming using just the iGpu.
You’re welcome! 😊I love having an eGPU. Getting to still play on your handheld with a huge graphics boost is awesome. I missed the demo on monster hunter to test it out but I’m excited to try it when it releases. 😁🙌🏻
Sorry I forgot to ask you if you have Dragon's Dogma 2. If you do, perhaps you can throw that onex2 egpu to the test using your x1 AMD. This game in particular is demanding in certain zones, especially Venthworth. Please test it without the AFMF2, thank you.
Wow, awesome devices! I wonder if GPD will respond. I think I will be sticking with my onexgpu(1) for now. Excited to see whats to come in the near future though.
I’m excited to see what comes out in 2025 too. You’ll be primed and ready for the OneXGPU 3. 😂👍 I ordered the Hall effect Ally X joysticks from Handheld DIY yesterday. 👌
Loved the video, thanks for the content! I've been thinking about downsizing my gaming PC from the Lian Li O11, 4080, Ryzen 5800, to a "docked" ROG Ally X. Have you used the Ally with the OnexGPU along with a mouse and keyboard? I’d love to hear about your experience with that.
Thank you! 🫶 Yes, I use mouse and keyboard for any shooter game (I’m terrible with a controller for FPS games 😂). I use this setup way more than my 4080 laptop just because I like detach and keep playing in handheld mode or even use a 2M cable and play in handheld with the eGPU boost. It’s a fun setup. Maybe wait for the OneXGPU 3 next year haha. Or you could swap the legion go for a device with oculink and you’d see +30% gains sticking with the OneXGPU 1 versus +50% over TB4 with the OneXGPU 2. Price point is probably similar though in both scenarios. 🤔 I did compare the size comparison side by side starting around the 11:14 marked section of this video. Weight wise it’s a lot heavier lol. Did I miss something you want to see? 😊
Wow you have received yours. Have fun! Regarding the PC cable that you use to plug into the power brick, we can use any PC cable that we have around? As long as it fits?
Hi. Thanks for a very good unboxing video. I am interested in buying this EGPU paired with the Minisforum UM890 Pro Mini PC. I have heard it has a oculink port (the mini PC) so it should take advantage of the performance gained using the PCIe 4.0. Have you heard of any issues with mini PC using these egpu's?

hi Nelly, once we have the 2 GPUs detected in the AMD app, do we have to disable one over the other to have them working properly or we can leave them both active? thanks!
leave them both active. but what device are you using it with? If you're using a Legion Go or Ally X then you'll have to disable the 780m (unless you side load AMD's software and their 780m drivers, not the ones from Asus or Lenovo, Nelly has videos about this). For other devices its not an issue, and normally they function in a hybrid mode unless you have a switch to turn it off (usually in BIOS)
What @ominousview said lol. You can leave them both. Double check in the game settings that it picked the right card 99% of the time it will default correctly. 👍
I’m about 98% sure you can’t with the OneXGPU connection. The NVMe drive does appear until a few seconds after you boot into windows and the connect is enabled with AMD xconnect (if using TB4). You could run it off the other usb c port drive or a micro sd card in your device. 🤔 Are you trying to make an Oculink connection out of your device’s PCIe slot?
Does your Onexgpu2 charge your Ally X even when the egpu is powered down? Mine does it worries me it's not a new feature the Onexgpu 7600mxt didn't charge the Ally when it was powered down. I hope that's normal
@BobbyButts-n5f Leaving any battery powered device on a charger for extended periods isn’t great for the battery. I have mine set to charge to 80% and I always unplug when it doesn’t need to be getting a charge.
Oh nelly. I have a question. Do you shoot your videos in 1080p or 4k or what? Im wanting to try my hand at some cc. Just as a hobby. But i dont want to buy a 4k camera. Cant afford it for a hobby.
do you recommend replacing gpd g1 with onexgpu 2 using usb 4.0? because according to your videos onexgpu 2 works much better on oculink. 2nd thing, thank you for recommending the cable matters cable - the connection stability is actually better. I also recommend it. It is worth noting that there are many 1m cables on the market - they are probably the problem here because as you know, above 80 cm the cable must be "active" and not passive.
Oculink is going to give you +30% over Thunderbolt 4. The OneXGPU 2 has been averaging +50% on TB4 from the 7600m XT card to the 7800m card. If you have an Oculink handheld that works the best to get the max performance without the TB4 cap. Your GPD G1 has an Oculink port, right?
@@GamingRepairs yes, but i have legion go with only usb 4.0 . on most games i see 2,5-3 fps boost . but on games like stalker only about 2x . on external scren is 20% better fps , its normal. @@Pilociks what wattage are you using on your legion go. to get more GPU use out of your eGPU you want to set your GO at 23-26 Watts at least, some games require more CPU power, and ofc RAM, but not much we can do there
@ominousview I have tested many games. In the case of egpu, it does not matter how many watts the law is. Whether 15 or 30, the amount of fps is the same. The cpu uses in legion go 15w max so.. I even changed the cpu boost mode to aggressive, but the system is sometimes unstable, unfortunately.. I'm an advanced user, I've checked all the options also in the bios, and many other things including,4 different usb 4.0 cables. The problem lies on the side of usb 4.0 and the speed of operation, since when connecting a monitor I suddenly have much more fps on 800p . This indicates a problem with the speed of the usb port, I unplug the hdmi and suddenly the fps drops significantly. It's the fault of the usb . Even the gpd company itself claims that the gpd g1 2023 does not charge the legion go ,which is a lie . The problem was in the original cable!! Which was 1m long and was passive. And I bought a certified Intel 80 cm cable and everything works better .
