Steven universe future so far has been lighthearted comedy tying up loose ends, seeing what life is like now, also watching Steven going mentally insane because people are moving on to do bigger and better things, he doesn’t know who he is without being the local helper so with no one left to help he doesn’t know who he is, He feels like can’t talk to anyone, and also dealing with the fact that no matter how much he changes he can’t escape the things his mom did. So yeah this season 10/10 Great first half!!!

Tw//Abuse • • • I don’t think Pink pearl’s eye will ever be healed. The way that I see it is that pink diamond abused her pearls when she got upset whether she ment to or not. Her eye represents how that kind of stuff never really heals. She seems to have a habit of bottling her emotions up a little bit (“No! I’m fine!”). If that’s from Pink or not is not clear yet. She also has some noticeable PTSD kinda stuff going on when she’s yelled out. So yeah, I don’t think her eye will heal. It’s a metaphor for the abuse she went through. Maybe pearl will help walk her through all of that. For her, she’s always going to have “triggers” and things that make her panic or anxious. That abuse is going to stick with her forever.
Volleyball's injury will not be healed. As Pearl says about her own hurt; "I didn't (stop hurting)". The pain and the scars of that pain will always be there, but they will lessen and become easier to ignore.
I have assumed that, rather than it being truly an injury or scar at this point, it's part of the form she created when she reformed. What happened, how she was hurt, it's part of her now. But, if she recovers emotionally with time, care, and work, I would imagine the "scar" would be less prominent on subsequent new forms, and maybe fade away if she's ever able to let it go. It's an internal "crack" showing on the outside of how she sees herself, rather than actual lasting physical damage
Do you remember change your mind? when steven's gem came out and yelled "she's gone" it's the same power that caused volleyball to get hurt, steven is developing more powers. Pink Steven are all powers, but Steven is just developing them. I do not want to continue that I do not want to ruin it was for you but keep watching and you will understand my point

20:56 Honestly I feel the same way I thought I was the only one who was feeling the lack of emotion and powerful feelings in the latest seasons, don't get me wrong season 4 and 5 both had it's moment but I just didn't feel the same way, so far since season 3 I haven't felt this real strong emotions that SU use to have, it's nice seeing that again. That's why I loved Volleybal, it's powerful since it tackles really deep themes like abuse, and how it can affect you psychologically, The two sides of Pink diamond, one who was childish and explosive and one who was still a little silly but more mature and reserved, the two Pearls saw her in different ways and by understanding each other's perspectives Pearl and Volleyball could bond and help each other with the abuse and damage they both received from her, the animation in that sequence when they were escaping the Reef just... really beautiful, this episode is one of my favorite episodes of SUF if not my favorite, the Rose's Scabbard vibes are real.
I didn't realise how much steven had grown and already changed in Future ep 1 until I went back and saw some older season episodes. He was really just a kid dealing with some *very* heavy stuff.
I was talking with a friend and we both agree that while we are sure Jasper is not going to get all buddy--buddy with Steven, she will get to the point she grows respect towards him. Second: the episode about the Rose Quartz's was very much needed, Steven is still chased by his mom's memories and that is not doing it any good, but having someone to relate its a relief somehow. As for the Volleyball one... we can all agree that Pink was childish and that the lack of respect or attention from her "sisters" bothered her. But at the end because of Blue's words on the last episodes of SU we get to know that later she saw just how misserable she was and being under Blue's influence also got her mess up alongside with the things she got to discover lately from earth. There was change for Pink, but I would love to see a bit more about the Diamonds and their lives previous the whole Pink shattering. It would be very interesting
the thing that makes me sad for steven is that he literally does not know what to do now. he's spent so much of his life just fixing other people's problems and saving the universe that he doesn't even know how to fix his own problems. he's never been to school, he has no friends his age aside from connie, so what now?
