Note for non hk players: some parts of the video like inventory dropping and hitting levers through walls is only possible on a previous game version which is faster, not the most recent update
I still don’t understand why the devs removed that lever thing. They legit said they wanted you to do that in the game

Great vid but Christ. When I saw "hardest boss" and the radiance, I thought he was doing a 5th pantheon speed run and my soul left my body.

21:54 I actually tried to do that once, but I could never beat Markoth and AbsRad on Radiant difficulty.

And huge respect for running Hollow Knight in general.
It's really not easy
it sure was not easy. It took me a solid 24 hours of trying fro abs rad. Markoth isn't too bad, you just need to right loadout. I forget exactly what I used, but Grubberflies elegy is key.
@@Dungeon_Dunce2011 I personally beat radiant Markoth by only damaging him with nail arts in phase 1 (no cyclone slash) and then using shade souls in phase 2. I died a lot on phase 1 just to beat him on the first attempt that ever reached phase 2. That's not the say the second phase is free, though, because his flying nails are very tricky to dodge there even when you don't have to get close to him and you cannot miss too many shade souls or else you'll run out of soul and be forced to actually approach Markoth, which will probably get you killed.
@@YoshiAteTooManyYoshiCookies that's the other main strategy that I've hears for Markoth. I think I did something kind of similar where you save up soul to blast him with spells. And then once I ran out of soul I started whacking him with elegy.
@@YapWooWoo markoth took years but after starting the radiant abdsrad grind I got it 2nd try although it was probably a fluke
Years Is an exaggeration it was more like 6 hours but felt like forever

I don't even play HK or do speedrunning but there's just something so satisfying about watching those that do. Such smooth moves.
HK is like 10 - 15 bucks. I recommend getting it if you think the gameplay looks good.
I wouldn't say that TE is _the_ hardest category, 112% APB NMG probably takes that title, but starting yourself on TE is definitely ambitious.

Low% does involve farming bees for hours if I remember correctly
low% te and all achievements are far harder to get an optimized result, though yeah apb nmg is the hardest to get a single clear on
I thought low% godhome ending was the hardest

I really enjoyed this video. I was already very familiar with hollow knight speedrunning but you outlined everything clearly while also being entertaining 👍
I love how I consumed so much hollow knight content and suddenly a content creator who never did hollow knight content suddenly merges into my new / old / reoccuring obsession with this game.

i fucking LOVE hollow knight LETS GOO !! It took me like a year to beat pantheon 5 but every time I got to a boss or something I thought I'd never beat (NKG, Path of Pain), I'd eventually grind it out and overcome it. This game is super satisfying to conquer and I love seeing people get into it and fall in love with it like I have !!
Yup, it took me 6 hours to beat NKG for the first time, although I was using an absolute scrub build (weaversong grubsong GLOWING WOMB quick heal and spore shroom), but now I can beat it on radiant (also was running a semi-minion build for it, mostly because I never really learned how to use VS or Shriek)

I still don't use spells that much lmao; all nail all day baby. I've beaten probably 2/3 of the bosses radiant thus far
@@itsmeike I absolutely abuse ddark's s, and it also does alright damage, but I don't think I've ever used shaman stone and if you ever see me with it call the cops because that's an impersonator of me.
@@nicjoy4407 Oh yeah I do use ddark for the s sometimes--it's a pretty essential strategy for some bosses

I still haven't beat pantheon 5, I once had like a perfect run going and then took a heavy beating to zote, survived and barely beat NKG clutched on pure vessel and then died to abs rad, those 4 fights are the bain of my existence and the reason I have PTSD to boss rushes
Nkg and pv can get super consistent if you grind them for a few hours each
NKG is an easy win for me every time, but PV still just kicks my ass. I lost my P5 run to him and I was devestated lmao

@@Darth-Dino Nah I think that's better--if you make it to Radiance, then you at least have it unlocked in the Hall of Gods to practice for the next attempt. Whereas when dying to PV, you come just short and you have to do it all over again just to even have a chance to practice

That definitely is a slightly misleading title though as there are definitely harder speed run categories for the game such as Low% or Low% True Ending

This game is soo addicting it’s insane
I've only done all skills and the early game is actually quite similar, but then it diverges dramatically (where all skills becomes a lot easier, while TE becomes harder). Super impressive man. TE Radiance is probably the hardest fight of any of the "traditional" categories.
i also recently got into hollow knight and have even started the speedrunning route. its really fun.

You should speedrun Low% True Ending.
Next, you should try low% TE! Its a really fun category, I promise! (Dont worry about the fact that its only been completed like... twice)
I love this game so much its such a good game and to me it feels under rated lol, theres another one that’s kinda similar that I really liked too called Death's Door, you're basically a little crow grim reaper and go around killing things lol, definitely try it out ;)

This is a very impressive run my best is a 1:16:52 since I speedrun the game a lot but I can’t really get better than that 😅 so to be newer and to get that is impressive
