Another great vid Karlos! I did not have my “Mind in the Box” the entire AZ Championship! It’s good to see that you show the good and the bad. I recently shot a match where my safety was on! And another stage where my mag was not properly seated and fell out after the first shot. The very next stage I shot a personal best by 2 seconds! Just got to shake it off and not dwell on it. Keep on trucking!

Hey Harvey- great to see your name pop up. Got a great picture of us in Arizona - didn’t realize how much alike we look, till I saw us together in this photo.
Not the first time a mag has dropped on me either with pistol, I am sure it will happen again, things happen. It’s what we do after that matters - glad to here you recovered with a PB, that is the way! There’s an 8 stage in Prescott in Oct- most likely coming back for a longer visit to the area . Hope to see you!
      Cheers Karlos

    Karlos,
First, I would like to thank you for providing great instructional videos and honestly assessing your mistakes so we can all learn from them. I am a super senior that just started shooting Steel Challenge the end of July this year. A major surgery made wearing a belt and holster a problem and I decided to give steel a try. I had never seen a match, or a practice, but quickly became addicted. Built a 10/22 using a Wiland Chassis, Todd is a great guy, with the rest of the parts being Volquartsen. To say its great doesn't do it justice.
When you described your loss of the Pro Ears it really caught my attention. My muffs interfere with my rifle stock. Did a little surfing on TH-cam and ordered a pair.
I've progressed from a U class, to D, to C and very close to B with the rifle. Now that I've learned how to move on Outer Limits I should make B at the next match.
    Thanks! Lloyd from Michigan

Hello Llyod - Glad to hear you found the videos helpful, and even more excited to hear about your movement through the rankings. Best wishes on your B class coming soon, that really moving !
One thing about posting these videos is the memories that pop up when someone comments on one. My performance on pistol when I misplaced my ear pro resurfaced like it had just happened. Made me smile, cause that all when can do when things go super wrong.
Volquartsen 10/22 rifle in a Wiland chassis is 100% a fantastic setup.
Thanks for sharing your story - It's probably too cold to shoot this year, but best wishes for continuing your trek up the rankings :)
      Karlos

I think clearing your mind after a bad run is one of the most difficult things to do in this sport. You shook it off very well in my opinion. Well done.

Thanks John D. Tear it up this weekend Sir. I have been getting better about accepting the results of stage runs; Learn from the mistakes, not get frustrated. one target, one shot, move to next.

Love the videos, what first person camera do you use?

Hello Dave - using the AimCam pro 2i - it’s old and the picture is a bit worse than before it was sweated in over 50 times or more in the Texas heat. Takes a bit of time to get used to the camera mounted on the glasses- not in- movable mount. after that it’s smooth sailing. Battery lasts an entire match, has a built in sd card slot so no additional equipment needed. Great product. use a GoPro 11 for the outside of the box perspective.

Yikes! Missing ear protection, missing glasses, and then missing shots? An hour layoff has your "GM rythum" on siesta! I'm sure you'll make it back on the next 3 stages. Suggestion, skip lunch! Go get Em!

Lol - I didn't even eat lunch :) . I chatted with the Clarks, Stretched, recorded a video, and stayed in the shade. When I loose stuff, I get flustered, and combined with needing to focus - just could NOT connect the dots. prefer the matches that shoot straight through the 8 stages, but also enjoy the challenge of match rules that are new. - I need to work more on pistol achieve the times I want, back to training. Thanks for the comment Mark, see you at the range soon.
