Gotta love those iron sight shooters! Really appreciate you showing the good with the bad on how matches really are…not every stage can be GM runs! As you’ve said before, all the stages are different. If you have a perceived bad one, move on to the next. Great recovery stages with Smoke & Hope and Roundabout in RFPI. Working on not beating myself up after a bad run…the mental game.
Hit Master with Iron Sights at this match, which means only one more ranking to go. If I can figure out 4 more stages - 5toGo, pendulum, Speed Option, and just bit on Accelerator - call me iron sight GM... Really just need to shoot this division more.. I believe a sight change will solve all my current issues. stay tuned for a modification video soon. As always thank you for the support!!
Karlos, it's good seeing shacking the cob webs off with this warmup match. 2024 is going to be your year! All you have to do is teach your squad how to paint those targets so you can see your handiwork better!
On painting the steel - while I am a huge fan of clean white targets - one thing i realize is that when the targets are not painted and I can't see my hits, I don't think so much about where each hit falls on the target. I believe this sometimes helps me actually go faster on strings 2-5. Less interruption of the thought process.. However at major matches they paint, so ideally we should practice this way!.. Howdy Kaden, thanks for the message. I took most of this off shooting to focus on a new career. Things are going welll, now I just to get back into competitive shape - don't like the way I look on camera on ~200 lbs. The irons sights I use are - GHOST RING - RUGER MK SERIES FIRESIGHTS On the volquartsen pistols, you only need the rear sight in order to use the Ghost ring setup. For me I can treat them more like a red dot. I started with the red dot and switching to irons between a huge learning curve. Will we get another season of matches soon?? It's been real cool to see the different performances match to match and it's helped me to start competing in the steel challenge this year. I only got to shoot 3 matches before the season ended in my state, but it's been my favorite hobby to do so far! (And I have too many......LOL)
Yes - I am already planning the next match season for 2025. At least four major events, locals at least a couple times a month. As for videos - maybe just the majors plus a new edition of 8 stage mind in the box series. Thanks for the note, and glad to hear it’s one of your new favorite hobbies - it’s best when you have a competitive buddy who shoots too. :)
