I bought that onion slicer and it's worth every penny! Quick tip, lightly salt the onions in a bowl after they are sliced and let them sit for 10-15 minutes to draw the moisture out. Squeeze the water out then fluff them. This will give the onions a bit more of a crisp. I make these burgers every Saturday night and it's my favorite meal of the week!
That slicer is a game changer, FOR SURE!

I recently started a new job in Okarche which is about 15 minutes outside of El Reno and I've been a frequent customer at both Sid's and Robert's. Two little hole in the wall joints with mind blowing burgers.

They're so good!
lots of diced onions but not sliced mixed in with the hamburger. then lots extra diced grilled onions on top. Much easier to eat. Not stringy that way.

Thanks for the great vids! Had my first onion burger at Johnny's over 50 years ago. Was easy to watch and recreate the onion burger back home here in So Cal with my Dust Bowl Okie family. The hard item to recreate is the Coney. And our deal was to order a burger and Coney over and over until well-stuffed. I've done plenty of research into the Coney and where that slaw is regional but are gonna do a vid on the under-appreciated Johnny's Coney? Thanks again,
