For 9 Years I Have Personally Been Loving Trains. Yes Mainly The London Underground And After I’ve Seen The Metropolitan Line S Stock, I Was Shocked. Honestly The S Stock Design Is So Stunning That I Even Had To Buy That Amazing Model. Amazing IC83. Love The Underground ❤
Amazing train. Don`t forget that the underground does go overground too. I have a 40 year old Lima Deltic with original traction tyres still as good as new. great video, I always enjoy them.
Brilliant video will. I love this model and always thought about sending you it and i'm glad someone has. The London Tranaport museum also sell lighting kits made for the s stock

Bombardier is at what was Derby Litchurch Lane Works and I pass it on the Skylink bus to EMA regularly. I think I saw the real trains being rolled out and delivered by a pair of Class 20 locomotives a few years ago now. Bombardier Transportation is Canadian by ownership but has a big input into rail vehicle construction in the UK. Repairs are carried out in Crewe IIRC at what was Crewe Electric Depot - CE.
Really nice looking model, Bachmann are really raising the bar on this model, the quality, looks and performance is second to none. Even though I don’t have Underground System where I live, it still makes me want one. Great review, you have just help confirm what I thought all along and that is.... what are you waiting for, go, ... go and buy one, and don’t forget the interior lighting. I want the dogs everything with it...!
Haha thanks for the comment - I think when you factor in the end size of this model, the price and the options to customise it - it seems like a club model to me. Aimed at an entire club maybe getting it and running it for display. Having said that, a lot of private enthusiasts will definitely have the full set too - I'm sure.

VERY nice review,. thank you. It may be helpful to give a MSRP as part of the information so one has at least an idea of the cost of the train. I do like the fact it's a DC train, much more straight forward to operate than a DCC train and more economical as well.
I really enjoy your REVIEWS. I realize you feel compelled to explain YOUR side of TH-cam, but its what WE see, on this side, that matters. So, perhaps a bit less "house keeping" as prelude and more time spent on the wonderful reviews you produce. Just saying - I've dreamt of modeling a classic London Underground landing. Maybe Paddington (a bit trite, perhaps). Anyway. This would be a pretty cool deal seeing a real "Tube Train" appear from the tunnel, stop, wait while everyone "Minds the gap", then off it would go, into the future once more. Think of the details. AND, what a great premise for a short track / small space layout. Thanks for sharing...

@kootha kootha they are the exact same unit, the onky difference being 1 additional car on the S8. And what do you mean about “hardly typical of an underground line”? The Met is still a REAL Underground line and it uses S8 stock, so its VERY MUCH typical for the LU.

Such a beautiful locomotive. Shame it has to be underground all-day long. The last time I saw one in this livery above ground was on the isle of white where they've been turned into the islands commuter train
Excellent job and remember you need to buy a 220 volt 50hz transformer for an American Bachmann train set because they come in wired only to 110 volts 60hz which would mean without a Step up Transformer the 110 United States and Canada household current Transformer would burn if plug directly to a British 220 volt plug. If I were you I would have brought a Bachmann 🇺🇸 HO Amtrak set ACS-64 or Acela express and to me you guys seem to have the better quality Bachmann train sets which is different from what we have here in the United States.
Don't know if you mentioned but you can fitting lighting at the wheels which make it look like it is sparking as the real trains do. BTW traction tyres are normal on all Bachmann underground stuff even there underground Ernie stock had tyres.
Well I've been looking forward to that since it left and I must say I'm more than impressed with your review. She really is a beaut and tbh I haven't even got a layout for it but I'm a tube nerd hence why I bought it. Meant to say in letter the traction ties had to be fitted to pull all 8 carriages. I did try without using the drive wheels in the bag but there wasn't enough power between the two motors to shift the lot which is a shame. Might try adding weight to the motors and take the tires off when she returns. Anyway look forward to seeing you at the club and if it's easier then bring the s stock with you if it's awkward to package I don't mind. Steam in the North West blend milk with flour and pour into a mold. Additional chemicals added here but are not nesscesairy. Them heat sufficently for a peroid and cover with packaging for transport.
That is an S8 stock. They are only seen on Metropolitan line trains. There are also S7 stocks, which are the same but 1 carriage less, that run trains on the District, Circle and Hammersmith & City routes
CANTERBURY OF YE OLDE ZEALAND well think of it if it is 280 for the 4 car train then 40 for each carriage it is going to cost you 320 altogether if it is an 8 car rake I don't know how long it is
I love these videos and I have watched every last one, including Minecraft and N gauge! However, had that train been Hornby (particularly Railroad), the reaction to traction tyres would not have been so forgiving. Not every Bachmann product is going to eclipse Hornby, we need to recognise this and point out faults with all companies indiscriminately.
there are 2 pairs of non tyred wheels in the box to change for the tyre ones . they do the same on the windhoff mpv but on that model they fit the non tyre wheels and put the tyre optional ones in the box . its a good idea of Bachmann to give the option unlike Hornby who still insist on putting tyres on there locos ...not all but some .
AWESOME! Its so rare for a manufacture to do models of Subways or even buses. Seeing modern stuff like that by a manufacture is awesome and should happen more often. But it would take the fun out of custom building stuff ;) Bombardier is Canadian.
I've wanted one of these for awhile and the only ones I can find are on Ebay and they range from £700-over£1000. Looks like I won't be getting one for even longer. :(

They did build the R142 for the MTA in new york and their latest model was the R179 made right before or during the pandemic

Traction tyres should last years and give perfect traction on inclines etc.. All my conti locos have them fitted as standard.

the 4 cars have 32 wheels to pick up from so I guess having 4 wheels with tyres on wont stop it running well .
The Montreal Metro has Bombardier stuff and all those trains have traction tires. Check them out, the trains all run on rubber.
