Simon's Trains visits Peter Spoerer's White Horse Railway - gauge 1 live steam in the garden!

- How about some live steam in Gauge 1? Into the great outdoors!
On the 5th of August 2021 Simon and family were invited for a steaming day on Peter Spoerer's White Horse Railway. Simon has been a fan of Peter's TH-cam videos for several years. We steamed up several locomotives as well as running some battery operated locos.
The locos we steamed were:
34001 Bullied Pacific, Exeter
Unnumbered Q1 locomotive
34051 Bullied Pacific, Winston Churchill, pulling the Golden Arrow
Simon also drove a battery powered Class 66 diesel and 8P steam loco.
We had a fantastic day. It was a very special treat and a real highlight of our holiday.

I really wish I could buy one of these trains. I have cockatiel birds they are my children for real. Yes I’m a human, but I’m Native American Cherokee in Blackfoot Indian a lot of my native friends call me Spirit of the crow. Gogggy that’s native tongue, native American Pima language, which I have a lot of friends that are native Americans. They are my family all native tribes. We are native nation we are blood brothers and sisters native Americans. I love my family my Native American family and my birds.

It’s a BLESSING a to have a grandpa like this one.

One day, when I go on my second globe tour, I’m going to visit Peter Spoerer’s White Horse Railway and check it out! I’m a trainspotter and train fan too you know!
I'm so glad you posted this video. It was a real pleasure watching Gramps work with the grandkids. The patients of the ol' man the excitement and anticipation in the little boy and the interest and enthusiasm of the little girl. What a priceless afternoon spent enjoying and being a family. My 3 year old is train mad, me my and my wife also love trains, this model railway with the steam/ radio controlled and battery operated trains are so frickin cool im actually jealous 😅

@@SimonsTrainAdventures I've really been wanting to make my own Train layout for the models I have, but I haven't really got the experience of the money to get such things, and so I've gotten a Train Simulator to do whatever I feel like making.

It’s amazing isn’t it? We were very lucky to spend some time there.
My 2 year old daughter went to Bekonscott model railway center and screamed her lungs out when we had to leave. Had to carry her.
Took her back a second time during our 20 day visit to see family.
I grew up in Maidenhead Berkshire and have a g1 railway myself. Though not English.

You’ve got to love a good old train layout, especially a garden railway! My grandad was a OO scale enthusiast, used to have a railway, but health issues and lack of time hindered the maintenance of it, and we had to get rid of it sadly. Sadly he passed last year, and I couldn’t really think of trains without thinking of him, I’m all good now, and I’m going to continue his legacy, for as long as a I can hopefully! I’m more enthusiastic about Gauge 1 and O scale, but nevertheless, I shall continue his legacy!

We all had a very fun day.
We are a Danish railway club north of Copenhagen who love train models and at the school I am a security guard I have a great interest in trains and train carriages. That is why it is great that your film on TH-cam is to our great joy.
We sometimes trips abroad to see the railway club and get impressions with home. I would suggest when all the dreadful virus has laid and it makes it possible to travel to England.

My kid did pretty good with things like this at this age, at least as well as anyone could expect anyhow. But between this and the video from last year on Peter's channel, I can tell Simon is exceptionally good at paying attention and adjusting the controls just right.... He is excited but also still able to have the finesse to gently pilot the loco while shunting. Truly wonderful and something to be nurtured. I am sure he is just as calculated and observant with many other things he does too.

Fab railway - those coaches needed some magnetic couplings me thinks. Nice to see youngsters being encouraged. My dad's garden railway, 20 years old this year, has encouraged youngsters to take up the hobby and one or two to study engineering at university too. Model railways are a broad church and multifaceted in their benefits too👍✌️😊 Thanks for sharing your lovely day out👍👍😊

Peter often says if Gauge 1 is to have a future children have to allowed to be hands-on. He is really good at helping them steam up.
never ended love for trains.... my childhood and still love. .. i tried making my own track at home but went for study in other city and could not start.
