    So far we haven’t heard a bad word about the 1167. It seems this tractor does the job! 😊

      Those drills are awesome. If you tried to take a corn planter through those conditions, you would plant for about 100 feet and spend the next 2 hours cleaning the planter out.

    In their 30 year existence AGCO's best purchase has been the Fendt line. Second is Precision Planting.

    We send our 620 casse quads through all those little water holes we never have any issues if there is standing water. If there is no water that’s where we get into trouble

    Puts triples on Ernie and pull an old ground drive drill -might get you into those wet spots. For the really bad sloughs, I’d go with a pontoon boat with a ATV fert spreader bolted on the back. Chapel and Ashtyn could come along and cookout on the pontoon. 😅

    Maybe you should have brought up the 68 foot drill not as much weight…very impressed that you can seed when it that wet and not plug everything up.

    I like the look of 2 tracks and I thought they might go alright around here. But after watching this im glad we've got dual 800s on the 9r instead of a 2 track

    I think the 2 Trac make this very good ore it´s the driver who drive xD ;) Much people wished this rain, but so much is unbelievable

    I recommend not using a heavy harrow on low spots, just turns it to mush and can not air out. My recommendation is a salford 2100, hit the wet spots with it and a couple days later with good sun and wind and you will seed right up to where you worked

    If you have 3 shots of lemon juice take care of the hiccups every time! Wow it’s super muddy!

    I'd be willing to bet the price of smaller 40ft. Used Air drills have gone up suddenly this spring.

    I get the idea that the 2-track is hindered by the grouser design, it doesn't look as aggressive as R1 the tire lugs. ( Let alone R1w or R2. )
    All a trade off I suppose, just like 45 degree [tire] lugs are better in wet climates as they self clear better, and 30-35 degree are better for dry land.
    A hell, just get some full grouser-height steel tracks, would pull anything as long as you never road it. (And the hinges can wear faster than rubber.)

    Mike, if 2-tracks are so poor at pulling in the wet, what advantage is there in having them? Crawlers pull very well, so why don't 2-tracks? Great video and very different land to south farm. Really enjoy these videos as it keeps me up to date with farming around the world.

      Grouser design maybe. And in theory there should be less pressure which would help subsoil compaction, but his frost line is like 6ft deep so that shouldn't be much issue.

    At least with 84ft there are not too many wheel tracks and you don't have to get too close beside the wet spots.

    mike I roll 18000 acres a year with a 2 track and a 80 ft degelman wouldn't want to do it when crop is up

    With a field like this, I would consider clearing some bush as well as looking for any opportunity to improve drainage wherever possible...

    Good way to get rid of hiccups is to sit down, bend your neck and head downwards as much as you can, as if you're looking back at your stomach and drink some water from a cup not a bottle over your top lip that's now the bottom lip, hope that makes sense but it works!

    Maybe in a few years it will be possible to grow with airplanes or drones. That makes it easier for Chapel😆

    I don't know the normal weather there, and its leased yes?, but would it be economical to put in parallel straight line ditches say every 400 feet(some multiple of implement width) for next year? Not a full tile job(not sure how that would stand freezing anyway) but it would still speed bulk runoff by a large margin to allow planting with fairly short dry spells.

    I'm originally from Consul which is not far from where your south farm is. Doesn't it drive you nuts to try to seed in that bluff and pothole country with that big equipment? Great videos BTW.

    I used to get hiccups a lot. A friend insisted I try her remedy. It's weird, admittedly, but I can stop every hiccup event as soon as it starts. In fact, I almoat never get them now. Soooo, assuming you're not diabetic, eat 1 tablespoon of white, granulated sugar, followed immediately by a glass of water, drunk straight down. Weird, somewhat disgusting, but effective.

      They have one back at the main farm as Ashton use to plant with it... it's a 60ish ft wide. Probably just a hassle to get his up there let alone bringing up a second...

      @@syndicateleader6396 Yeah he said that in the video they had a smaller one, but could rent or purchase one close to the northern location. 60ft would be to large..30ft could hit those spots fast when they dry up a bit

    Hi Mike. Is there a danger of bending the shanks or disks when you turn that sharp with it in the ground? those end ones look like they are pushing sideways almost.

      I have never bent anything on a Bourgault, but I have been told that's not the case for all seeders 🤷‍♂️

    You should maybe check the main frame for cracks or damage from all the winging into the wet spots ....just talking from experience....

    Surely it would pay to have smaller tractor and drill going around doing all the awkward to reach areas with a smaller drill? Looks a right game getting that beaut in to all the tight headland corners.

      Granted. But on the 40,000 acres I can imagine there must be a fair few tight areas. Surely that would mean the big boys could come in and smash out the acreage, therefore making more productive use of their size. You save an hour in each field and the man hours and machinery hours add up.

    Can you wing up the drill and seed with just the middle sections to get into smaller areas or does the drill say no to that?

      Yes, I have done that.. But it needs not to be wet or soft as it will push the back little tires through the mud and create drag on the wings. It hard dry conditions absolutely.

    Think you are going to have to invest in a cultivator to go dig up and dry out a bit before planting or maybe bomb around with the highspeed disk for a bit 🤷‍♂️ or does everyone up that way just go straight to seeding mike?

    Mike why not get a smaller seeder and hook it to the 9620R ?? You might be able to seed more of the wet ground doing it that way instead of dragging the 84 foot seeder around all the wet spots
