- ** Due to the islands and tight areas Mike couldn't get in and around with the 84ft drill, he found an smaller 40ft hoe drill to do the job. Here's hoping he can get it all wired in and figured out as time is not in his favour.

The new merchandise thing has really been cramping our style due to time... But it's all in and I do believe it's all up on the website now, be sure to check it out!
We have some other things planned for ya but are running out of hours in a day. Stay tuned and thank you for your patience. 🙂
Ps: Mike models when Ashtyn brings out food and Chapel for tractor rides 🤷♂️😂🤦🏻♂️

“Something small and nimple”… Still 5 times bigger than What our Big drill looks like. Dang😆
Hahaha. Right? We just upgraded to a 45 foot. Had a 20 foot box drill before. Was thinking man this is big. Now I know it's still small and nimble.
Baby bourgault...hahaha!!!
40’ is biggest we run here!!!...
Hilarious how different farming is in different parts of country!..
That looks brand new it’s in great shape good luck Godspeed
Great drills. Been running a 5710 and 5350 cart for a long time. This one is in great shape. Stored inside definitely helped!
Very cool to see this mike. I learned on a CIH 8500 and then we went to a 5710 54ft with the 350 cart. Pulled it with a Steigher Panther 1000 and later a 9390. Great drills for sure.
Love the Fendt. This will be fun to watch!
Such a cute little cart. Lol
Hi ya Mike, it is great to see your latest addition to the North farm fleet of equipment, I'm fairly sure it will be so much easier maneuvering around the wet spots & therefore you should notice a huge reduction in your blood pressure, good luck my friend. 😀🇬🇧
Those tanks originally only have one tube coming from the tanks. The seed and fertilizer is mixed together and all comes out the shovels. The second tower and mid row broadcasters were added.
To calibrate it, those tubs get strapped under the meter augers, then you have to actually drive the unit so that the product spills into the bins
Looks to be in great shape!
Thank you! I’ll never forget the day you took your britches off on the tractor. Some say you were commando! Lol! Happy 4th+2 days
I was waiting on this. Figured a small drill would fit nice on the north farm.
Nice setup, Fast Ag Montana got a smaller one for the hill sides
8:32 Noo, i hope you wanted to say that Ernie shoud pull it!
🚜 Good luck Little Fellas
hearing you were concerned about pulling 40' on 10" spacing with that 724 is making me feel lucky i was able to pull 28' on 8" spacing with my little 2wd JD 4430! My drill has full size cultivator style sweeps too.
Another very interesting video Mike, nice to see you investing in the new farm
Thank You for sharing
That cart looks in fantastic shape. Clearly been shedded its whole life….
Edit: “Hey Donald, the drive chain!!!” 😂😂😂 That had me laughin’…..
Great fun 😎
Perfect. I was thinking this all along..........In some cases, smaller is better. Some cases...........anyway. I wouldn't get carried away with smaller is better though............sometimes it is, on rare occasions........very rare occasions....... OCD is starting to kick in.
Haha 😆😆
A classic. Can’t go wrong with a dirt frigger
Put foam in the tires. Never worry about a flat again!
We have the disc opener version of that drill with mid row banders. We pull it with an old Massey 4840 which has 265 HP. Overkill is way better than undercooked if you have the option 😂
Rod Johnson on sask farmers group will give you all the pointers on running that dirt friger lol!
Hopefully burning the “stubble” will prevent any cattail seeds from germinating next spring.
Hey Mike
Great video can we also get a quick update on your dugout you built over winter!? Thank you
We still have our 40’ flexi-coil to get into the areas that the 80’ vaderstad can’t get into. Smartest move ever
Can't wait to tune in next week... and watch Mike tear the hitch off the 5710 with the Fendt! 😂
Naw, nothing wrong with having extra horsepower in the mud, we know all about that up north here! Drill looks in great shape, good buy!
Haha break a 5710 he doesnt have enough fendt to do that
Good luck seeding sir 💯💯
That's a nice drill. I want it 😁
I run a 63 ft 5710 dirt frigger with a 6550 tank. Unreal drill. Best there is. Try changing my mind
Stick foward send it Mike !
Great video Mike
You probably won't read this, but JD Waterloo Iowa tractor works, 7R, 8R and 9R, is moving all cab assembly to Mexico, they weld and assemble all cabs there, combines and sprayers included. I live pretty close, know people that work there... they are supposedly making room for the new 800hp tractor line according to factory workers
Pay the poor Mexican 3$ a hour and sell the machines for 800,000 $
I'm pretty sure its because the Mexicans are cheaper to pay and don't strike as much...
Those bushings look like a Future-Mike problem, agreed :D
😆 Agreed!
@@mikemitchell2554 Hopefully Ashtyn, Chapel & yourself can enjoy some quality "Family Time" to celebrate your wedding anniversary rather then dealing with stucks in the field.
🎊🎈🎉👩❤️👨👨👩👦
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Sometimes bigger is not always better Mike.
The new addition to your machinery line has a shorter distance to walk around when you get stuck 🤣😂
Is there a good spot for the strap!!!!
Good idea, for mud maybe is better.
Can't wait to see a big machine shed go up after the bumper crops your gonna have.
I would put some slime in the tires to help you keep them sealed
Yup, easy and effective.
Hi Mike or anyone else that knows.
What is the growing season in northern Saskatchewan? If you are seeding Canola, Oats and Wheat in June, when will you be harvesting?
Central Saskatchewan
I have to admit, I’ve gotten a 39 foot flexi-coil 5000 stuck with a 570hp quadtrac. 😂
Get you some tirejet its awesome i have itin my tractor and equipment tires !!!!!
That looks like how big our drills are
extremely tidy unit Mike!
Put the massy on it 😂
You should get those packer tires foam-filled
Will they still flex enough? I use tire Slime sealant.
@@heartysteer8752 Filled rubber tires was an option for the 5710, along with normal tires, steel flat and round, and a few others.
@@J-1410 Mike said he preferred pneumatic because they flex. Think filled won't do what he wants.
@@heartysteer8752 I'm just saying what was optional for the 5710S2.
Good stuff
14:00 This is totally what we expected from "Mr Safety" Mike. 😅
Ashtyn has moved up from helper to instructor due to her knowledge on this new drill.
Chapel will certainly be getting more "Tractor Time"
I always must laugh when Mike is scaling something as big or small.. :D I live in European country as big as your field i guess :D All these things look like godzilla for me. Its amazing :D
Get back 1050 for that drill 😁😁
Maaann you should definitely put some foam or something in all those tires. Jeez louiz
what seems small to one is big to another lol
That's a sweet set up I like this seeder except all the tire compactors I can for see that being a pain.
I wish if you pulled it with the fendt 724
stay tuned!
If you ever wanna get rid of your 724. I could use a 3rd one down here in BC
Interested 🤔
@@mikemitchell2554
How do we get in contact lol
@@Jonas889665 Support@faithhopefarms.ca
If you are seeding wheat you could run the wheat and fertilizer down the same pipe. I have done that many times with great success.
That's true, but I think you are still limited to a certain amount
@@mikemitchell2554 I can tell you from experience that a hundred pounds of 46-0-0 = no crop
@@mikemitchell2554 I can tell you from experience that a hundred pounds of 46-0-0 = no crop
Farming simulator in real life XD overkill or not it's freaking awesome 😜
A dirt frigger
Versatile needs to get Mike Mitchell a delta trac to review and try out
keep it for chaple to learn on
A dirt trigger extraordinaire. Build more bins
Dirt frigger!!
Mike,i have a question: Can you, perhaps, attach the big 1300 bushel cart to that baby seeder so you don't run out of the seeds never again?
Mike I bet in a side by side comparison this drill would yield the same as your million dollar one. 😂😂
Haha most likely! 😆
Something a little different, my little nephew told me he walked right by you at the Farm Progress Show. He told his friend “hey that’s Mike Mitchell”. LOL
I asked if him if got your autograph?
He said no I didn’t want to start a line up.
Kids do say the darned things.
@@davezalinko1354 😆😆😆 he should have said "hi"
Omg a 5710
It will be nice for the tail to not wag the dog in moist conditions!
I think you have to jack it up and spin the back wheel to calibrate
Or you just drive x amount of revolutions, or put on the optional hydraulic motor
called it!
if you need to go any smaller .. a pail and then sow it by hand ... and a pair of hip waders ... lol
My business role model
Oh the ol Massey 36 diskers. Spent more time filling then seeding. And when they were less then half full they wouldn’t go in the ground.
Yep. Recall that stuff!!!
... Darn time travelers stealing my ideas! This was recorded *well* before I was suggesting a smaller drill a couple videos back. XD I swear, those darn time travelers!
How does that work spreading out front instead of having it go to a mid row bander? Seems super simple
What you needed when you were getting stuck smaller and lighter. I had an old 930 case no chloride no weights run duals with low air and an old international hoe drill it would walk on water almost used it seed lot of them spots you normally couldnt get close to
Morning
I think Ernie should definitely pull this on
Haha... Ernie couldn’t pull that drill winged up.
@@crandonborth i bet he could haha. he's a extremely capable tractor. Don't underestimate Ernie!
What. No love for Bert?!
@@crandonborth Winged up it could(been there done that). I guess it could pull it if you don't put it in the ground.
Im waiting for thr video in which he will reveal that the north farm will be a separate farm and they will build a house there. Who else feels like thats in the making?
It should be. The south farm is drought out
No... he’s said many times that the south farm is home and he’s not leaving just cause of a drought. That be like if you just up and left everything... no he’s just up here to support his wife and her family, but make no mistake he’s not staying.
@@crandonborth i get that, but maybe they are in midst of building their own farm and he just didn't want to make it public or a big deal, sure looks like its own operation. I get your point though
Whats the rowspacing on that drill?
Baby 😅 our drill is 12 ft
floating hitch is the difference i think
Mike, why didn’t ya bring the discers up??
Mike did you buy that in Minnesota
I so commented this asking wouldn't a smaller drill be so much easier
Will it plug up without coulters?
How is the dugout doing?
Look you gotta quit calling 40ft small. Some of us smaller row crop farmers are sensitive. 🤣
😆😆 I apologize! 🤦🏻♂️
How late can you seed oats in your area?
Can we get the 1300 bushel cart on that drill?
imagine get a stuck with dat puppy, shame xD
Mike I have a question. Aren’t those spare chains right there in front of your nose? Lmao. That unit looks to be in good condition.
Yes! Haha 🤦🏻♂️
How wide is that drill
20 secs ago anouthe r drill dude??? wo9ah gratzzz
Mike I have a question, did the drill come from Rosenort Manitoba
No, south of Regina
The series 1 had one line on the graphic and the series 2 has two lines.
LOL come on Mike just when you're ready to go seeding you end the VIDEO what I was all in to see your new toy going to work NOW I HAVE TO WAIT ON YOU AGAIN COME ON MIKE LOL don't pay no attention to me LOL sure like what y'all are doing on the North farm it doesn't happen overnight but you sure are hard at it up there just saying.
Tireject!!!
Why didn’t u get a tow between?
