Love your videos. Taking notes now on supplements. Following Keto diet now. Me and husband have lost 15 lbs. SO FAR. More to go. Less bloating and joint pain. Thank you for caring.
I dont know how to go back to my previous questions for the answers. gallagherkelleys@gmail I started fasting the 16/8 right away. Hasnt really fiven me hunger pangs. I did only start keto about 3 weeks ago. 1 year ago I started a high protein diet and lost a lot of weight. I like the keto better because I feel more full. How will it affect me if I continue the 16/8 IF even though I did that right away? I need to lose 30 more pounds.
Vitamin D: Critical for overall health and hormone production. He recommends 2,000 to 5,000 IU daily, particularly for those far from the equator. Magnesium: Many people are deficient in magnesium, which regulates bodily functions. He suggests 250-500 mg of magnesium citrate or glycinate, ideally at bedtime. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Essential for those not on a ketogenic or high-fat diet. He advises 2-3 grams of fish oil daily. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): Particularly important for those on multiple medications. Dosage can range from 100 to 800 mg depending on prescription usage. Zinc: Helpful for men’s testosterone regulation and for those with reduced taste or smell. He recommends 25-50 mg daily. B-Complex Vitamins: Necessary for vegetarians or those not eating enough quality meat. He advises a supplement with 1,000 mcg of B12. Vitamin K2 (MK4 form): Aids in bone health, and with vitamin D, can help prevent osteoporosis. The recommended dose is 200 mcg daily.
I was a vegan for a few years and on many, many supplements but beings I've been keto and transitioning to carnivore, I've thrown out so many in fear of over doing it because I'm getting better nutrition from the food I eat. I can't express how much better I feel!! Thank you, Dr Berry.
@@judybrown1810 I take the same. 25000 IU twice weekly. My last test showed that my serum level of Vitamin D3 is 51 ng/ml which I thought was a good thing. But my endo's nurse told me to go easy on any vit D supps as 51ng/dl was getting close to 'dangerously high'!? Anybody who can tell me if she (the nurse) is right? I thought we were all routinely lacking in vit D? Also, I cannot find any 'official' upper limit, only that yr serum level should be above 30 ng/ml. So I don't get it...

KenDBerryMD are all of these you mention here needed daily and long term ... I WISH I’ve only spent hundreds on supplements... been more like thousands and I am so confused on what we need long term. All I know is I feel like hell
Does seizure medication deplete coq10 as well? My husband takes a total of 6 seizure pills as well as a beta blocker and bp pill. How many mcg would you suggest...
Would be really helpful to have specific product recommendations rather than “ you need 50 mg of magnesium “ etc. I heard most vit pills don’t even get absorbed and pass right through. I still have little clue on what to actually buy for better health. So many adds etc I don’t trust.

Thank you Dr. Berry! Your videos are extremely informative. I have been sharing your channel with friends and family. 💯 For all, here's a summary of the supplements: Vitamin D3: 2000 - 5000 IU per day Magnesium: 250 - 500mg per day (take at night) Omega-3s: 2 - 3 grams per day CoEnzyme Q10: 100 - 200mg per day Zinc: 25 - 50mg per day B Complex: 1000mcg per day Vitamin K2: 200mcg (MK4)
I was just told by Swanson's Supplements that 2-3 grams of Omega -3's is a ton and should seek advice from my priimary care doctor before taking that much!!! It adds up to 6-9 capsules!!!!

I started keto back in January and I was 245 lbs, 6'2 tall. I was taking Januvia once a day and 1 gram of metformin twice a day. I was on 4 blood pressure meds every day. As a result of keto and a daily walk I am down to 172 lbs, and am completely off all diabetic medications. I am only taking 1 BP medication. I had surgery in 2008 and had most of my thyroid removed so I have to take levothyroxine but it and the 1 bp med are the only medications I take.
Dr. Berry. Every time I hear you speak makes me want to move close to you and have you as my doctor thank you for all the knowledge you bring to us all.
Dr. Berry what abiut copper, as zinc depletes it. I have been advised to take 1200mg calcium per day for osteoporosis, I am taking Jarrow bone up that includes 1000 calcium per day. Am I doing the right thing
Great list Dr. Berry, I would to suggest 2 others. For K2 - wk7 version has a better half-life than wk-4 (I take both - Liver is the best), current studies of K2 are of higher doses (0.2mg+). Not sure why this one wasn't considered essential, most people do not get enough Boron in their diet. It is involved in many processes, and taken in moderate amounts with your suggested list will provide many benefits (Strong Bones - No Osteopenia, Reverse Arthritis, Increase D Serum levels, and Testosterone)

Dr Berry my husband and I have been following you for yrs. My hubby is your #1 fan!!! This year my sugar addict self decided to do NO processed sugars in 2023!!! I got so much flack. Hubby and I have done 30-40 days 0 sugars and 4 month carnivore a few years ago with amazing results but we have never tried 1 yr. Feeling our best already! His arthritis is gone, my brain fog is gone, better night sleep, dropping weight, reflexes are quick (I never thought that would happen!) And skin has already cleared up. Not doing fruits yet! Only focused on no processed sugars but people think I am going to die. They never worried when I ate chemical laden snicker bars and poptarts! Now they think I am dying. Well, on the road to recovery. I don't want to ever go back! Here is my problem! I love hamburger and eggs - those give me the most energy almost whinin a minute of eating... but my stomach has shrunk and I can't eat very much because I fill up so fast. I am concerned I am not getting enough vitamins so I take vitamins. I don't want to overtake them either. You mentioned if we ate a meat dense diet we should be getting the nutrients we need. What would you say is the amount needed for someone who can only eat 2 small meals a day. I loved doing 24 hr fasting then eat, but I am no longer doing that because I can only eat a fistful of meat or eggs most days. Hubby and I have lost weight but that isn't the goal here, being healthy is... then the body will lose. It took us years to realize that. Also what do you recommend for someone with a cold to add in more magnesium and zinc? How much? Thanks for all you do!!!
3:00 I love the humor you throw in. I've learned a great deal about nutrition watching your videos. That sarcasm makes it feel like you're getting these tips from an old friend.
Sir I just found your Channel I think because I'm on a ketogenic diet and I ran into you through the recommended videos I just want to say thank you and I tip my hat to you for putting a summary in your TH-cam video. Being disabled it is so much easier to read the summary in the description and then watch the video. Any way keep up the good work I really appreciate you being here!
I already take all of these but the single biggest effect for me, having psoriatic arthritis, was standardized turmeric with black pepper. My little fingers used to stay sore almost as if broken and my other finger joints were frequently inflamed and painful but when I started taking turmeric the pain left my hands and never came back. I can lift weights, write, etc. with zero pain. Love your channel Dr. Berry!
@@jackstewart2504 I take 3 capsules @500 mg each as a maintenance dose every 24 hours. Make sure you get the 95% curcuminoids standardized version with bio-Perine (black pepper) to help with absorption. Turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory! When I started taking it, I took one 1500 mg dose every twelve hours and within a few days the pain was gone. Since it's just a spice, common yellow curry, you can also cook with it if you like curry flavor. Really good in a creamed chicken and rice sauce. Good luck!
vitamin d and k2 are in kerrygold butter in large amounts. what you didn't mention is k2 also reduces the calcification of the heart which is cause of heart attack by putting the calcium in bones instead of heart. it's good stuff. great video
Dr. Berry, when you mentioned about Zinc and testosterone.. I was wondering about women with PCOS who have too much testosterone.. Should we take Zinc?
Hi Ken, so with having to take supplements with food and doing intermittent fasting, what are the best times to take them? I typically eat 2 meals, noon and 6pm
I also take iodine supplement. I have been for several years and can’t remember the reason. Am I wasting my money? Also, I’ve read that kombucha and kefir are the best way to get your probiotics. I’ve been making homemade kombucha for a few years now and love it! I have had no intestinal issues since beginning to drink kombucha on a regular basis.
Taking a supplement that delivers 500 mcg/day of iodine (e.g. kelp capsules) can support an underactive thyroid (which is quite common). Just be cautious if your underactive thyroid is a symptom of Hashimoto's (an autoimmune disease in which your body is attacking its own thyroid gland). In this situation taking iodine is not recommended. You can get tested for Hashimoto's with thyroid antibody tests.
Hi, should we avoid taking vitamins that contain soybean oil, corn oil, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide? Thanks for the wonderful information.
sorry to hear that. you need another good source of vit d. cod liver oil capsules are a good source. you would also then get your omega 3 and vit a for the day. also grass fed butter (kerrygold) would give you vits A D E K
Love your videos. So informative. When do you take your supplements and what combo's should be avoided? Everyday we hear of more and more supplements we should be taking as we age. Vitamin C, L- Lycine, E, Niacin, Selenium. When does it become too much? Thanks
What about potassium supplements? I know that we can get potassium from leafy greens and salads, but I can't eat too much of them due to IBS. Recently I started eating a few salads and leafy greens a day, trying to get healthier, and I had the worst IBS attack in years! Thank you Dr. Berry for taking the time to do all these videos.. you're really helping a lot of people!!
I'm taking collagen, biotin, grape seed complex, glucosamine potassium an I'm 65yrs old. I have arthritis and eat low carb also take a multi vitamin. I want to thank you for all the great information!!! 🙂
Can you take these supplements without food, I do intermittent fasting and my first meal is around 2pm. So could I take them in the mornings or should I wait until I eat?
I live in Brazil and every supplement I can find here have lots of things in them like corn starch, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidone, silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate. I bought some magnesium chloride, omega 3 (fish oil) and chelated zinc, but I'm still not sure if I should take them or how bad those ingredients are, if at all. They sound bad, that's for sure.
I have bone on bone knee issue. I was getting steroid shots every 3 months to take down the swelling which also caused pressure pain. I started to take organic sulphur crystals (Happy Body) .5 to 1 teaspoon mixed with iced tea every day. No more swelling and no more needles. Didn't fix the bone on bone knee but took away the pain. My question to you is, can you do a video on this and is it safe to take every day? The things I read said it comes naturally in food but gets processed out. Thanks in advance.
I was ready for new knees when I found an exercise specialist that taught me how to build up the muscles around my knees. I did standard leg exercises with an assist, like a cane, with warm-ups (active stretching) and cool down after (static stretching), and rolling all leg muscles (foam roller, massage gun, and/or rolling pin.) I swim and/or bike ride weekly. I am 74 and play tennis several times a week. I still see my specialized trainer twice a week for workouts and I am doing this on the same bone-on-bone knees the surgeon said I should have replaced.
Hey Doc, I wonder if you have an updated version of this list? I have been reading the ingredients on these and they have seed oils in them. Recently we have learned how unhappy these oils can make our bodies (inflammation) Anything to worry about here?
Hi Dr. Berry! Could you please explain why you recommend MK4 over MK7? I work in the supplements section of a health food store, and my co-workers and I have been reading as much as we can about K2. It is really confusing. Most people we study recommend MK7. My best understanding is that MK4 attaches to triglycerides and doesn't stay in the system as long as MK7 and that MK7 attaches to cholesterol. Either way, the supplement is manufactured from bacteria. I can't remember what the bacteria feed on for MK4, but for MK7, they feed on natto, sometimes chickpea. Anyway, the whole topic is confusing, and I'm beginning to form the opinion that nobody really actually knows much when it comes to this topic. If you wouldn't mind sharing what you know, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
So far I have kicked nicotine, refined sugar, gluten, alcohol, now I'm after lactose. It's a long road! I was wondering . . . . . is it only the lactose in those grains or is it the whole thing? I was in an accident that left me with a pretty nasty spinal injury and the label in-valid ! When the pain hits my brain . . well, say no more. But . . . when it does I can't eat, sometimes for days. So I have gotten used to fasting. I'm too poor for the meat . . . so ditto for that. What you say makes a lot of sense. I'm also after Inflammation as I think that is what slows me down the most. Needless to say (especially to you) the whole lot has led me straight to Keto . . . I like your genuine honesty and personal style. I am taking on board what you recommend (that I don't already do) and I'm looking forward to even less pain. Thank you for your invaluable knowledge.
3TapSnu 0ut Probiotics help a lot in restoring the gut. You probably took a lot of medicines for the accident which can damage the gut and create lots of sensitivities, weakness and toxins in the body.
I love all your messages, my emergency room doctor died of leukemia so I don’t have the access that I used to have but I am a great reader later in my life and you, Dr. Berg and Dr. Mendel are pretty much all I listen to. I thank you for all your hard work and discoveries. I have Neuropathy and I do take the vitamin B 1 and alpha Lipo acid 600 mg seems to be working fine with the tingling and sometime sharp pains in my feet. I have no diabetes and 84 1/2 I actually have no other ailments. Very very fortunate very very good bloodline as well parents live to be in their 90s grandparents late 90s. So I know some of that works. Also realize we had lots of healthy foods growing up with big gardens and grandparents that I own beehives and cattle ranches. I know it plays a big part. OK thanks again.
Zinc intake over 50 mg will start to deplete copper. To much copper will start to deplete zinc. They need to be taken in a balanced dose. To much zinc can be toxic.
Thanks for the confirmation lol. I've been taking most of the supplements you mentioned since my early 40s. I'm 51 now and I feel great. 10 years ago I was 50 pounds overweight, had elevated blood pressure and a terrible lipid profile, but after both of my parents died within 2 years, from cancer and heart disease, I decided to get my sh*t together. Below is the list of supplements (and the brands) I currently take each day. I sometimes change brands if I learn about a better option in my research. I try to only take the highest quality supplements available, based on lab analysis and customer feedback. They can be expensive, but it's worth it to know it's pure and effective and not just some synthetic garbage that you'll pee out in 10 min. 1. Multivitamin - Xtend-Life Total Balance Premium 2. Magnesium Complex - MagEnhance 3. Coenzym Q10 - Qunol Ubiquinol (ubiquinol is the better form of CoQ10 and is FAR better absorbed in the body than regular CoQ10) 4. Omega 3 - Sports Research Total Omega 3 5. Vitamin D3/K2 - Sports Research 6. Vitamin C - American Health Ester-C with Bioflavonoids 7. Niacin - Solgar Vitamin B3 8. Probiotic - Now Foods 10, 25 billion CFU
@@blueblack1997 I try to take only the most respected brands, which can get expensive (I spend about $120 /month on supplements), but it's well worth it to me. Honestly, my diet isn't great. I do try to avoid processed foods altogether, but I don't deny myself the foods I love, even the fatty unhealthy ones. I am trying to improve my diet though, but even as it is, my vitals are still good. Yes I forgot to mention that I do take Probiotic-10, 25 billion CFU from Now foods 1 or 2 x daily between meals. I edited my original comment to include brands I prefer, which changes periodically based on new research and online feedback from people who use them.

I have a couple of big questions here. There was no address of Vitamin C during this...its in most multi vits so probably not much of an issue. However, the timing of taking vitamins and minerals is not addressed either. I intermittent fast...so can I take my dailies during that...or do I wait till I have my first meal of the day? And am I breaking my fast taking these? Thank you for your kind consideration. I appreciate your time. Perhaps, this could be the subject of a new video?
You don't break a fast by taking vitamins and minerals. There is no energy source in them unless you take something like a protein supplement. If you do take supplements while fasting I'd be sure to drink a full glass of water with it or you may experience some stomach discomfort.
I felt like sheet 20 - 30 years ago, process of elimination came up with "chronic fatigue" ie they couldn't find anything. So I have been reading about this stuff for years and agree with your list. Now @ 76 I am off all prescription medicines. Systolic BP around 130 or a little above but stable so I let that be. I am surprised you didn't include any "brain enhancers" though. Having a wife with with AD, diagnosed 5 years ago and still at home I have an interest. Probably the one you could have included is curcumin [bacopa and ginko also help] and changed the magnesium compound to magnesium L-theonate [expensive though]. I also cook in coconut oil which has a high fuming point. But an excellent list. I hope people hear the message re D3 and K2. Osteo is a terrible thing, it condemned my beautiful MIL to a wheelchair and eventually stroke when, knowing what we know now, it could have been prevented.
I'd advise to do research on insulin resistance, mct oil and Alzheimer. You can find TH-cam's with specific info on this subject. The disease is also called diabetes 3.If your lady became insulin resistant, her brains lack glucose fuel. In that case her brains may live up with another fuel, mct oil. Osteoporosis: use boron, magnesium, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 (MK7). Proteins are also required for stronger bones. Pls let me know if I can help.
I had been taking a b complex vitamin but had been experiencing a variety of nasty symptoms that I had thought might suggest a need for more thyroid hormone supplementation...crushing fatigue, depression, GERD, heart fluttering, insomnia, finally terrible muscle cramps in my feet and toes. My wonderful internist did a lot of blood tests and finally found the problem...very low plasma thiamine levels. A few days of b1 and benefotiamin supplements totally eradicated all the problems. My ketovore diet just didn't do it without supplements. I suspect my age--64-- made my absorption less than ideal. I am so relieved to have been able to identify it!
@@stephieg.2580 It didn't. It simply was not able to supply me with an adequate level of B1--thiamine. I was ill because of a thiamine deficiency...which I'm reading is far more common than most realize.
When I hit the (Amazon) link for Vitamin K, I saw a combo Vitamin K2 and D3, made by Divine Bounty. Would this be a good alternative for the individual Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 supplements you noted?
Yeah, it doesn't seem to help me sleep. Mine is prescribed. In combination with keto, maybe now it will help., Only been on this for two days. I'am hopeful!! We'll see it's now or never!!!
Dr. Berry, it is 200 micrograms of Vitamin K2 MK7, not K2 MK4. If you take the MK 4 version, you need about 3 or 4 milligrams to equal 200 micrograms of MK7 K2.

Thanks for the info. I am 65, in good health and take no meds at all. I take most of what you mention here, with the exception of K2/MK4, which I will begin. I also take Hyaluronic Acid (330mg), tart cherry (465mg), krill oil (500mg), ubiquinol (100mg) and b12 (1500mg). Any thoughts on these? Thanks!
skip supplementing not really effective do coq10 injections, gludathione iv, myers cocktail, vitamin d injections, if you dont your just gonna have nutrition deficiencies and have lots of health issues. pro atletes and rich people do those year round thats why they're always healthy and not sick. nutrition ivs and injections is the secret to being healthy. not talked about cause there too effective they cure pretty much almost all health issues. high doses they last awhile in your system optimal levels same day, does not take serveral months like supplement and only 30 percent absorbtion. nutrition ivs and injection 100 percent absorbtion through blood stream and no side effects like supplements can
Dr. Berry. I have a question on some of the ones that you have linked in the show notes. A few of them like the D3/Magnesium, etc show to contain Soy Lecithin, Soy bean oil or Corn oil. Are these still alright to take? Also, the video mentions to take K2 (M4) but the link that was provided goes to a K2 (M7) brand.
Great video thank you! I am following the Keto Diet and have heard that Potassium is important. Would you recommend a potassium supplement? Many thanks
I am eating carnivore for about 2 months have numbness in feet started taking B1 and nutritional yeast heard this will help, is there any truth to this?
My guess is the most important thing is to take the supplement. If you make things more complex, they may be better but after a while many people are likely to give up because they made too difficult for themselves.
Same question i have. Do I need to take all the supplements during the feeding window? Some of the pills have very minor amounts of calories (10 or less)
Hi Kelli, taking supplements won’t break a fast per se, but be sure to read the directions for taking them, as some of them (magnesium for example) should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. So if you’re prone to stomach problems, it would be best to wait until you’re done with your IF to take. Hope this helps.
Not a doctor but take the ones that are gel tabs during your eating period. They tend to have a small amount of soy oil as a filler and it's best to take them when your insulin is already going to be rising. Also, some vitamins are water soluble and others are fat soluble.
As per Dr Jason Fung in his Complete Guide to Fasting book..pg 243.."Talk to your physician about whether these meds need to be continued during your fast. Also, you can try taking your meds with a small serving of leafy greens, which is low in calories and may not disrupt your fast." Also, I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the max calories you can consume on a fasting day is 50 calories, such as if you want to add a smidge of ghee or coconut oil to your coffee.
Dr. Berry, I have learned sooo much listening to you. Appreciate your straight forward style and use you as a reference for "all things"! I was told to take Lipoic acid to relieve my feet burning at night. I am 67, weigh 118/5' in height- not diabetic. Following a ketogenic/carnivore diet- for the most part. Thanks in advance for your help!
Also the Lord Jesus Christ will lead and guide you on your journey to staying healthy 😊process foods too much sugar and gluten trans fat do little for our health. I am not a big fan of red meats as study show the link to most chronic illnesses.
Thanks for your effort Doctor, but I think you forgat one of the most important elements which most of the people are deficient in which is Iodine, which can lead to some serious problems!
ah yes i just mentioned that too, they have to learn which one to take & how to dose etc... also. some meds & situations may not mix well with iodine as it seems to raise blood pressure & heart rate
Sea weed or kelp is good for iodine. Any fish or shellfish from the ocean will contain iodine. Also if you live near a coastline iodine shouldn’t be a concern.
Dr. Berry, first and foremost, thank you for your videos. I’ve only started watching your videos a couple of weeks ago. I do have a couple of questions: Do you recommend/encourage taking glycine? Why/why not? The reason I ask is because I take a glycine supplement called Sweetamine. It also contains L-Proline, Taurine, and stevia. I’ve heard taking a ‘tonic’ made with 2tbls acv (w/the mother), 1tbls blackstrap molasses, 1tsp baking soda and at least 10oz of water is very good for the body. Would you agree/do you recommend taking this? Why/why not? I’ve noticed some of your videos recommend unprocessed salt but in others you recommend a specific brand. Are these one in the same or different? If different, which is best? Also, my mom (and I, but I’m most concerned for my mom) really needs your medical help as a doctor. We’re in California. Do you take new patients for phone or video appointments?
A supplement no one is talking about is lithium. I started taking this for foot neuropathy and began noticing a significant improvement in my memory. Would like Dr Berry's comment on this supplement.
If you’re taking lithium. You need to have your blood drawn and checked every 3 months to ensure something and to avoid risks. My psychiatrist was adamant about this. And other medical professionals aggressively suppported this practice.
Just take 3 things... 1) one daily every man's multivitamin 40 + (new chapter brand) 2) Antarctic krill oil 2000 MG ( microingredients brand) 3) Probiotic All-Flora (new chapter brand) I tried to get the best produced vitamin probiotic and krill oil I can find at a reasonable price that I can afford, new chapter seen the stand out because they ferment their products and it comes from my whole food source and actually meets or exceeds the minimum recommended dosages on the important stuff without adding too much other junk into it... the krill oil this is a new brand for me and I'm still seeing if it works well if my body I'm 2 weeks in on it but overall it seems like a decent brand and fresh oil.... as for the probiotic I'm not sure what all Flora means but I'm going to give them a shot haven't started it yet, but I'm curious your thoughts on these two Brands and these three supplements that I take... Is there better ones out there? Are these dosages enough for the average 40 year old not on many prescriptions ( antihistamine and Pepto acid reflux medicine)? It's also been recommended to me by others non-medical professional types to take A Time release vitamin C... not too sure about that one.... I only eat once a day and it's whatever the wife makes me usuallyI only eat once a day and it's whatever the wife makes me.. we all have a small snack for lunch... not much more to say but thought I would ask and see what you think
Dr. Berry, it is 200 micrograms of Vitamin K2 MK7, not K2 MK4. If you take the MK 4 version, you need about 3 or 4 milligrams to equal 200 micrograms of MK7 K2. Most K2 supplements available at amazon or Walmart are the MK7 type (made from natto, fermented soy beans).
Yes Texarkana, I believe you are correct. I agree with you that what Dr. Berry said was wrong. In addition, I've heard MK-7 is the superior form of Vitamin K2 to take (for absorption). Not sure why he favors MK-4.
I take both, K2-MK4 has a shorter half life (maybe 3 or 4 hours) in the body but because you start with a bigger dose, you still have quite a bit after six half lives. MK7 is touted because it has a much longer half life and because it is more expensive, therefore it must be better. I believe MK4 is what you get from cheese and that may be why Dr Berry advocated it.
Dr. Berry, I'm confused... in the video you specify taking the MK-4 type of Vitamin K2, but the link above is for an MK-7 type. Also, A number of other videos have favored the MK-7 variety, as it has a longer half-life. Thanks so much for all you do!
The MK-4 in supplements is synthetic version. MK-7 is the exact same K2 you would get if you actually ate Japanese natto, which many folks find to be an unpalatable food & also lasts/works much longer in the body ;-)
They do slightly different things supposedly with some overlap. See Chris Masterjohn. Mk-7 is supposed to be esoecially good for the bones. Mk-4 for the brain. I take both. My autistic daughter is doing fantastic on 1 or 2 drops of Thorne's mk-4. I have no idea why but I welcome it. Mk-7 did nothing for her mood and behavior.
What about folate for senior women? I take all the vitamins you mentioned. I did OD on b12 per blood test. Now taking a lot less. I am also taking a probiotic, it has helped me absorb my vitamins better. My diet consists of avacado toast with egg. Salad or oatmeal for lunch. Fish or chicken with veggies for dinner. I’m only on 1 med for thyroid which is Armour. Blood pressure meds make me sick so I take super beets and pomegranate juice in AM. My doctor is not happy about that choice. Thank you so much for your videos. Do you recommend taking all supplements together or with certain foods? I know you said magnesium at night and vitamin D3 with fat (in another video). Thanks so much!!😊
Thanks Dr Berry. Started following you about 2 wks ago. Lost 30 pounds with your help so far.

Wow 30 lbs in 2 weeks? How much did u weight when ustarted?
I dont know how to go back to my previous questions for the answers. gallagherkelleys@gmail I started fasting the 16/8 right away. Hasnt really fiven me hunger pangs. I did only start keto about 3 weeks ago. 1 year ago I started a high protein diet and lost a lot of weight. I like the keto better because I feel more full. How will it affect me if I continue the 16/8 IF even though I did that right away? I need to lose 30 more pounds.

Magnesium citrate not oxide.
Awesome I already take all these supplements + healthy lifestyle (food + sport).
VIT D. I take 50.000 a week

I take the same.
Mine is 71 and my dr says that is good. I believe Dr Berry addressed this on one of his videos and it can safely be much higher.

Would be really helpful to have specific product recommendations rather than
“ you need 50 mg of magnesium “ etc.
I heard most vit pills don’t even get absorbed and pass right through. I still have little clue on what to actually buy for better health.
So many adds etc I don’t trust.

When I started taking it, I took one 1500 mg dose every twelve hours and within a few days the pain was gone. Dr. Berry- do you recommend taking potassium and sodium supplements while eating Keto?
He has a video he did with his wife on making ketorade which contains both.
Correct me if I am wrong, but from other trustworthy videos I know that using enough Himalayan salt provides this and many other phyto nutrients.

This is what I was looking for. Cut through ALL the hype, and you've done all the shopping for us. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Hi Dr.

But . . . when it does I can't eat, sometimes for days. So I have gotten used to fasting. I'm too poor for the meat . . . so ditto for that. What you say makes a lot of sense.
I'm also after Inflammation as I think that is what slows me down the most.
Needless to say (especially to you) the whole lot has led me straight to Keto . . .

Osteo is a terrible thing, it condemned my beautiful MIL to a wheelchair and eventually stroke when, knowing what we know now, it could have been prevented.

alpha lipoic acid
berberine
folic acid
iodine
potassium gluconate
tumeric
Vit E
Thanks!
Do you recommend any certain brands of these supplements? Or what to look out for in the ingredients?
Jarrow is a great brand
They are in the video description
I’m wondering about the use of collagen pills and apple cider vinegar capsules?
they're total horse manure Erin!
Erin Gachuma Not sure about collagen but ACV is very good for health!
Marine collagen power by nature's choice is amazing been taking it for years.
Is melatonin supplements good or bad? I have heard some positive things but I'm not sure if it is something I should consider taking.
Yeah, it doesn't seem to help me sleep. Mine is prescribed. In combination with keto, maybe now it will help., Only been on this for two days. I'am hopeful!! We'll see it's now or never!!!
I take a brand called Sleep. It helps me relax to where I can fall sleep
I'm a 65 yo male and experimenting with nootropics. Two questions. 1. Are they legit? And 2. Which one{s} are best if they are?
Dr. Berry, it is 200 micrograms of Vitamin K2 MK7, not K2 MK4. If you take the MK 4 version, you need about 3 or 4 milligrams to equal 200 micrograms of MK7 K2.
Now I"m confused... MK4 or MK7 ??
mwdickens K2 from MK7 Natto. This video explains it. Dr. Berry dud a review on her book and gave it a thumbs up 👍
th-cam.com/video/Y_pa7AR7l6s/w-d-xo.html
So he did say the MK4? I found it on Amazon
Yvette Jossart MK 7 (from Natto) is the correct one.
I have not seen any studies. Mayhap the 4 version is used faster,
How about vitamin C? Is it worth taking or just a waste of money. Thanks.
Got to get the plant-based bioflavonoid vitamin C extract
Thanks for the info. I am 65, in good health and take no meds at all. I take most of what you mention here, with the exception of K2/MK4, which I will begin. I also take Hyaluronic Acid (330mg), tart cherry (465mg), krill oil (500mg), ubiquinol (100mg) and b12 (1500mg). Any thoughts on these? Thanks!
skip supplementing not really effective do coq10 injections, gludathione iv, myers cocktail, vitamin d injections, if you dont your just gonna have nutrition deficiencies and have lots of health issues. pro atletes and rich people do those year round thats why they're always healthy and not sick. nutrition ivs and injections is the secret to being healthy. not talked about cause there too effective they cure pretty much almost all health issues. high doses they last awhile in your system optimal levels same day, does not take serveral months like supplement and only 30 percent absorbtion. nutrition ivs and injection 100 percent absorbtion through blood stream and no side effects like supplements can
I have terrible leg cramps at night I've done everything from magnesium potassium labs are normal do you have some suggestions
How about probiotics and/or fermented foods?
I understand that probiotics should be from the refrigerated shelf not the regular isle of vitamin self.
Dr.
No they are all fillers and bad for your health. That’s weird he would suggest them 😖
Great video thank you! I am following the Keto Diet and have heard that Potassium is important. Would you recommend a potassium supplement? Many thanks
Dr Berry, where do you stand with Magnesium Stearate controversy? is it inert filler? or hidden toxic danger!?
Dr berry the efforts you make to help people is really tremendous. Blessings!
ARE really tremendous.
I take the Dr.’s Best magnesium. It says to take 2 tablets (400mg) twice a day. Is that too much?
Dr Berry-how do you feel about taking digestive enzymes after meals?
you're supposed to take them right before you eat the meal
I am eating carnivore for about 2 months have numbness in feet started taking B1 and nutritional yeast heard this will help, is there any truth to this?
What time of day should each of these supplements be taken?
My guess is the most important thing is to take the supplement. If you make things more complex, they may be better but after a while many people are likely to give up because they made too difficult for themselves.
Is it ok to take these supplements or other medications during IF? Does it break my fast?
Also, you can try taking your meds with a small serving of leafy greens, which is low in calories and may not disrupt your fast." Also, I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the max calories you can consume on a fasting day is 50 calories, such as if you want to add a smidge of ghee or coconut oil to your coffee.
where do you suggest we get customized and pharmaceutical-grade supplements from?
I want to take all supplements you have mentioned. How do i know which ones are legit?
You’re videos are most informative and so enjoyable! Thank you for all you do and share. God bless
I always had tingling sensations on my scalp cause I was vitamin d deficient now that I’ve been taking vitamin d and getting sun it went away!
What are your thoughts on taking Tumeric or curcumin?
Turmeric is a good anti inflammatory 👍🏻
Some portions of good meats like Chicken will give you the protein that your body needs to stay strong.
I get iodine from kelp
@@Jimbob-zn6bl your not getting enough from food, plus you have to consider pollution etc...
Sea weed or kelp is good for iodine. Any fish or shellfish from the ocean will contain iodine. Also if you live near a coastline iodine shouldn’t be a concern.
@@susanbrynt all oceans are polluted....
Dr. Berry, first and foremost, thank you for your videos. I’ve only started watching your videos a couple of weeks ago. I do have a couple of questions:
Do you recommend/encourage taking glycine?
Would like Dr Berry's comment on this supplement.
how much you take?
I'm interested to know too
Lithium usually causes weight gain, extreme thirst and sleepiness. Not always. It definitely helps you mentally stay even keeled.
My clients kidneys were destroyed by lithium...dialysis 3 x a week. No bueno.
If you’re taking lithium. You need to have your blood drawn and checked every 3 months to ensure something and to avoid risks. My psychiatrist was adamant about this. And other medical professionals aggressively suppported this practice.
Just take 3 things...
1) one daily every man's multivitamin 40 + (new chapter brand)
2) Antarctic krill oil 2000 MG ( microingredients brand)
3) Probiotic All-Flora (new chapter brand)
I tried to get the best produced vitamin probiotic and krill oil I can find at a reasonable price that I can afford, new chapter seen the stand out because they ferment their products and it comes from my whole food source and actually meets or exceeds the minimum recommended dosages on the important stuff without adding too much other junk into it... the krill oil this is a new brand for me and I'm still seeing if it works well if my body I'm 2 weeks in on it but overall it seems like a decent brand and fresh oil.... as for the probiotic I'm not sure what all Flora means but I'm going to give them a shot haven't started it yet, but I'm curious your thoughts on these two Brands and these three supplements that I take...
Thank you for clarifying this! I noticed that the supplement that he linked to had 15,000mcg MK-4. I was wondering what was going on
I'm confused, so what K2 and I suppose to order?
This confused me too. !5,000mcg versus 200 mcg is quite a difference.
BTW? He F'ed up I'm sure. you want MK-7 for sure.
Dr Berry I love your videos! I really cant afford all the supplements you discussed in the video. Can you recommend a good daily multivitamin?
What about folate for senior women? I take all the vitamins you mentioned. I did OD on b12 per blood test. Now taking a lot less. I am also taking a probiotic, it has helped me absorb my vitamins better. My diet consists of avacado toast with egg. Salad or oatmeal for lunch. Fish or chicken with veggies for dinner. I’m only on 1 med for thyroid which is Armour. Blood pressure meds make me sick so I take super beets and pomegranate juice in AM. My doctor is not happy about that choice. Thank you for all this info it has helped me make decisions.
You hyperlink to Magnesium is the Oxide formulation. Isn't that low bioavailable?
In Pennsylvania we LOVE your vids, Doc. Keep up the good work !
Dr. Berry, Thank you so much!!! You are a saving grace!!!
Vitamin D3 and K2 mk7, cod liver oil, marine collagen, trace minerals,
Health: one low functioning kidney, liver issues. Suggestions?
Ty Dr. Berry
I have graves desease. Could you talk about that. I am on meds for it. Thank you for being so helpful on your videos.
What brand of vitamins do you recommend, as far as the best with absorption?
No one can ever answer this question... Isn't that funny.. Vits are a scam
Thank you so much for your videos. Do you recommend taking all supplements together or with certain foods? I know you said magnesium at night and vitamin D3 with fat (in another video). Thanks so much!!😊
Magnesium is good at bed time along with calcium because it helps your sleep.
