Diana has taught modules and led workshops independently in Colorado, New Mexico, New York and India, as well as working closely with Stan Grof and Tav Sparks at training modules in the U.S., Spain, Ireland, England, South America and Mexico. Diana began her personal breathwork journey in 1993 and was certified in 1998. She lives in a high altitude mountain farming community in southern Colorado and it was in this community she grew up surrounded by a large family deeply embedded in the importance of nature, community and spirituality.
    Diana has practiced medicine in the specialties of pediatrics and family practice for over 20 years. Recently she has began practicing craniosacral therapy as an adjunct to her interest in holistic healing practices.

    I wish that everyone could realize that we are all the guru and the healer. If we can just learn these various techniques to hack our system then we can heal ourselves. Whether it be through various breathing techniques, Micro-dosing magic mushrooms, yoga, Qi Gong, various meditations, Wim Hof method, cold showers/ice baths etc....i'm currently exploring all these methods and there's truth to them all. I'm feeling much healthier and pain free as well as much happier!
    To whoever reads this, i wish you peace and joy and healing. I know you CAN heal yourself. Never ever give up on yourself because YOU CAN DO IT!😉💗✌🙏

    With many experiencing trauma, especially during childhood - we often hold our breath. And many have had to suppress their emotions around these diverse experiences. And as Diana says we are disconnected from our body. Breathwork helps us reconnect to our body and feelings. It’s part of a healing process that some find very helpful.

    I have been doing breath work for over 15 years. I do many versions but holotropic and wim hof are my two favorite. I put breath work right up there with meditation and exercise. I do breath work everyday. I have never been to holotropic work shop but I do 30 minute to an hour sessions two to four times per week. I can tell when I need a short break or shorter or longer session based on how I’m feeling that day. I recommend holotropic breath work to anyone. I would recommend going to a work shop first though to learn the proper technique and have a sitter because it can get very emotional. I know it is not recommended to do alone but I have done it alone literally hundreds of times with no issues or safety concerns. The only side effect is the release of emotions and a more happy and peaceful mind. Breath on!

    This cleared the confusion for me. I feel more comfortable, and a feeling of "I'm into the session" comes to me when I inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. I'll stick with that then!
    This breathing exercise helped me with my migraine issues. Maybe there was a release of the torrent of emotions from my body (I felt a lot of energy released from my body in my second session, and my sessions are not that long 40-80 minutes or so).

    Haven’t listened to the interview yet- impressed with this channel though and grateful ❤I found it! I started doing holotropic breath work in 2012 - it can be amazing! I restarted a couple years ago and have been having a VERY hard time with it with my Trauma Response characterized as OCPD and OCD, amongst other personality “disorders”- I’ve been having a hard time with the breathing with my perfectionism, and surrendering to the practice and being willing to do it.
    So if there’s others of you out there struggling with it- know you’re not alone and my practitioner has said it may not he for me unfortunately:(. My stubbornness is having a hard time with how much I’m struggling with it. I want to be able to do it as it seems it can be so helpful

    i loved this! i think i will try it alone despite what she says, i only say this because i’m sure a lot of people would suggest to not take psychedelics alone but my experience has been very therapeutic doing them alone, as intense as it was

    • @quizatzhaderach3046
      @quizatzhaderach3046 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      i did it alone few times but i think it's better with someone because i tend to stop breathing and fall into euphoric state after about 45min but one has to go further than that and having help with that is very useful..

    • @dougcole184
      @dougcole184 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've done this alone. It takes time to reach the depths needed for a release of deep seated often unrealized tensions, heartaches and fears but you can get there just keep going. I've fallen asleep and woke up back up and continued breath work. So it does re we require persistence and effort.

    • @frantsel5711

      @@quizatzhaderach3046 That, based on what Diane said, is okay. I can say this as I also feel the same and would go to sleep. After semi-waking up I don't know I feel happy, just happy. When I think of the cause of my happiness, I don't know, nothing comes over me. I feel that's how my psyche is responding.

      I cant imagine my life without my dreams. They have lead me to such happiness. Ive had sequels but never reoccurring dreams. My mother had reoccurring dreams about a past trauma. She didn't tell me or anyone until close to her death. I wished my mother would have resolved her dream and allow the dream to ignite healing. However, I a grateful that she shared her dream with me. It was such a relief to finally understand our lifelong conflict.

    Mike, the question I would like to ask concerns the variability of one being able to hold ones breath on different days and even at different times on the same day. What accounts for such wide variations? For instance, yesterday I was just about to be able to hold my breadth for one minute at a time, over a number of sessions, whereas today, two sessions, so far, I was able to hold my breadth more or less for 2 to 2.5 minutes. Note that I do have the same exercise regime every day, and I am not over-weight. I am 73 years of age; in good health. Out of everyone in this space, you are the one that comes up trumps for me, and the most exciting thing is following the meditation after the breathing exercise. If my memory serves me right, it was covered in this podcast by the lovely lady you were interviewing.

    Nothing better than Jacque lacan French psychoanalysis. I'm surprised that English native speakers don't delve into it...

    Did circular breathing for 40minutes last night as hard as I could but eased off when dizzy. Felt light headed and dry mouth but no emotions or spiritual insights. Am I doing it wrong?

      Hi, you should not doing it alone, you need a sitteer and a facilitator. It is not about breath hard. It needs music and best would be agroup. It cannot be done allone. Noone can breath hard for 3 hours. It is also not hyperventilation like some people write.

    So annoying when an ad interrupts a speaker mid-sentence! IMHO, TH-cam immediately got worse when Google took over, but now it seems to be getting worse and worse by the day, with all the interruptions and pushiness by TH-cam/Google. It's gotten so bad, that now I avoid it … except for useful info like this.

    It was so nice to listen to this newly discovered channel until i heard you speaking about Steve Jobs and Joe Rogan. Idk which one of those people did worse things to our society. I really hope they were only your links to the holotropic breathing. Good talk anywas!

    I watched till 50 minutes. I didn't get any technical information about holographic breathing. If you google one can find much more information about this kind of breathing. I feel I just wasted 50 minutes. Disappointed 😢.

    @3:22 still just talking garbage ! What is the point of making so much sound when it has no meaning?
