I got one of these for my mom .. Sept Pink. I only tried it in responsive mode and it worked really well.. Long spin time. No vibe . Really good beginner YoYo in my book.
@@vision821k4 Thank you! Funny you ask, so I do have a Northstar (newer finger spin version). I can't exactly say if one is better than the other. The Northstar is a bit more rim weighted and in my opinion the finger spin plate doesn't work very well (but I suck at finger spins). The Shooting Star is a bit more solid, not as rim weighted but still a bouncy yoyo. Between the 2, I would prefer the Shooting Star.

So this yoyo is rebranded as several different yoyos. The one I have is the Yoyo Empire Boreas. I believe it is the original model, as there is a Boreas II that has a metal rim. Boreas is the only one without any branding, to my knowledge. All the other ones I've seen are the exact same yoyo but with text or graphics on them. I think mine has a bit of vibe but I don't think it's anywhere near as much as in your video. I purchased mine on AliExpress for 20 USD, came with a string, a unresponsive concave bearing, a yoyo glove, and a separate ziplock bag with 10 additional strings and a gold 10-ball concave bearing. I do not believe the listing mentioned any of the extras.
Yeah, it does look exactly like it but without the branding. I'm not too surprised especially with so many yoyos produced and still producing, it won't be uncommon to use a supplier with an already existing design. I got mine as a winner in a contest, so I can't complain a free yoyo. =)

Hmm...the Shooting Star is definitely more comfortable in the hand and a bit more versatile compared to the Crystal, although the Crystal has a little bit more power. BUT that vibe though...I just hope I got a weird one.

Is it the same plastic as the iceberg? Or does it feel close to the plastic of say a “Replay Pro”? Because I LOVE the type of plastic on the “Iceberg” it’s can grind just as long as any of my Metal throws, so IF the “Shooting Star” is the same Im down to buy it 😁
Unfortunately I do not own an Iceberg or the Replay pro..."yet". But from my research, supposedly the Shooting Star is exactly the same yoyo as the Iceberg except without the metal rings.
I think the weight distribution is a little more center-weighted, compared to the iCEBERG's more rim-weighted. My ShootingStar is my favorite plastic. It feels floaty and light. I've never thrown a 'BERG, though.
Hmmm, can you tell me how the bearing sounds like? Is it quiet like it was lubed or extremely noisy like metal scraping? Usually bearings will make some noise when you play with the yoyo right out of the box but the sound would be a less screechy sound. And does the yoyo wobble when you are doing a sleeper?

Mine has vibe just as yours does. I'm still a beginner, but this is one of my favorites of the handful I have.
I'm glad that it's one of your favorites. Honestly vibe isn't as bad of an issue nowadays unless it makes it unplayable which are very rare.

My Shooting star doesnt spin long. About 17 Seconds in Sleeper only and the response is rly bad. Any tips?
