      Nope the bigger tires will make it even faster if the tires are lighter than smaller ones
      smaller tire will have a smaller circumference, causing the tire to travel less distance per rotation than the bigger tire
      There are some conditions smaller lighter tires can make you accelerate quicker but that will also cause wheelspin which will result in slow acceleration than normal
      if you wanna get more top speed and more acceleration as much as possible you will need much lighter, bigger and wider tires to actually get maximum traction on the launch
      Obviously Big tire will give you 5 mph top speed more on the Tesla
      For acceleration purposes most people will buy Smaller tires because they are small and light they can help you accelerating quicker in tesla plaid they are also better on roads

    • @Smzxe
      @Smzxe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tesla plaid can do better on 1/4 mile with lighter Carbon fibre wheels and wider or bigger tires
      But the
      The Factory Bigger 21" inch tires are slow on 1/4 mile because they are so heavy
      Smaller ones are lighter and spin at high speeds than bigger ones
      That's why people actually use them on drag strip lighter tires are also cheaper

Going wider when maximum traction was already achieved, would slow the car down due to additional weight and contact area (friction) from larger tires. apparently it all comes down to weight in this case, Tesla Plaid Channel ran a test with 19", 20" and 21" wheels (understandably the rim size changes but the overall diameter is roughly the same) and weight (21" vs 19" was the only influential factor in the 1/4 mile.
