      Neither. I was Black because of Viserys' wish. Then a Green pointed out to me that kings cannot change law only for their progeny. It has to be all of Westeros (eldest child first) just like in Dorne. Viserys should have codified it. So, Greens have a point... I didn't think of that!

      Basically what happened between Daemon and the Assassins is when Cheese asked him "What if we can't find Aemond?" Daemon looked at him and scene cuts but it is implied he told them 'Son for a Son", that's why they killed the little boy because he is Aegon's heir to the throne.

    • @kylethompson3008

      @IndianHeathen1982 actually kings have complete authority to change any laws they want to. There's no parliament in Westeros. So whoever told you that either lied or doesn't understand the law. The hand and small council can enact small matters to keep the government running smoothly but the ultimate power rests on the monarch which at the time was Viserys. So Aegon is technically 7th in the line of succession after Queen Rhaenyra and her children

      The whole point of the story is that the kingdom is bleeding because the egoistic quarrels of a handful of highborn... rooting for one team or another is missing the point.

    Its safe to say that Daemon gave permission to kill a boy if they cant Find Aemond in his own way . When he asked " What if we cant find him ?"

      Poor Jaeherys had nothing to do with this mess, very sad. In my opinion the real culprits of this whole mess are Criston and Alicent. Alicent raised those boys applying hate and pressure and that's why they are so psychopatic. Also their little affair not only caused the death of Jaeherys but also Aemond losing that eye. Remember that in both cases Criston was supposed to be on watch, but instead was busy with the Feet Queen

      I didn’t see it as “you can pick whichever son you can”, but then again despite liking Daemon as a character I don’t trust his judgement and he might have meant something like that. I also believe that them being in this mess has a lot of layers, it’s not one characters fault alone. That said I hate that this had to happen to Jaeherys and I feel so much for Helena watching all this happing, not able to do anything about it.😭

    15:22 He knows they aren't his blood, he just doesn't care as long as they carry the name Valaryon. Last season he said "History Does Not Remember Blood. It Remembers Names." when discussing it with Rhaenys.

    Rat catcher to Daemon: "What if we can't find him?" - silent stare, cut to next scene.
    Later the other guys says: "A son for a son, he said".
    That was Daemon's answer.

    • @CoraReacts
      @CoraReacts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe, I interpret it as that, more “as long as we get our money” and that that was the reason for killing Aemond. But then again it’s, Daemon so he might have meant that - wouldn’t be too surprising.

    You are right to keep attention to what Helaena says. She had said pretty important things so far:
    In the princess and the queen she says: "He will have to close an eye." And later Aemond loses his eye for claiming Vhaegar.
    In Driftmark she says: "Hand turns loom; Spool of green; spool of black; dragons of flesh weaving dragons of thread..." And later the house of the dragon goes to war, because of the hand.
    In Lord of the Tides she says: "Beware the beast beneath the boards." And later Rhaenys breaks through the floor on her dragon during the coronation.
    Then in this episode, she fears the rats... and the ratcatcher kills her son.

    • @CoraReacts
      @CoraReacts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly!! It’s hard to catch them at first but it’s so cool how what she says becomes true. I wonder how she does it 👀 I didn’t think about the one of the floor boards but that makes sense too!

    Corlys does believe that lucerey (Luke) were not Leanor kids but he didn't care because by law, they have his name, Valyarion, and Corlys wanted his name across the history books. It didn't matter if they were his real kids or not.

    Team Black when Rhaenyra demands a son for a son : "YASSSS QUEEEEN... LET'S GO QUEEENNNN.. GET EM!! 😍😍"

      I for sure didn’t cheer on Rhaenyra for going after Aemond. Do I get why she does it? Absolutely, but k don’t believe in an eye for an eye and certainly not a son for a son! I don’t think that it’s fair to say that Luke wouldn’t have died if he was reprimanded there and then though. Not saying that Aemond deserved to loose an eye but the fight also wasn’t Like randomly attacking him to get his eye.

    The moment Aemond started teasing Lucerys with a dragon 100 times bigger than Arrax he already signed Lucerys death warrant that made the dragons agitated and it lead to the death of Lucerys so technically Aemond did murder Lucerys, so if the blacks wants a son for a son then by all means. I just wished the two dumb guys did not kill such a small kid 😭. Trust me Aegon doesn't have a heart its all an act he even find it weird for them to say Aegon the magnanimous.
    I am team black and the only green I like is Helaena felt bad for her to choose which child needs to die that poor kid.

    • @joeloates1685
      @joeloates1685 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aegon absolutely does have a heart, he seeks approval from the small folk because he got none from his own father and family. He would've been a good king had he been named heir.

    • @CoraReacts
      @CoraReacts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aemond did tease Lucerys inside the building, but I didn’t notice him doing that afterwards. It would make sense that it was the reason the dragons acted like they did but I don’t think he murdered him since I don’t believe it was his intention to do so. I also don’t agree with the son for a son, nor the eye for an eye. It was absolutely horrible that they ended up killing Helen’s son.😭 I am really scared of Aegon and I can’t get over the fact that he enjoys / enjoyed child fighting. He does seem to have matured a little and I think he does care for some things at least. Not sure I think he is right for the throne though 😬

      @@CoraReacts when Aemond was teasing Luke and Arrax with Vhagar he was laughing so he was teasing luke outside as well. And Arrax is like 30 times smaller than Vhagar so Arrax got agitated started attacking and then Arrax made Vhagar angry technically Aemond did kill Luke his actions led to the death of Luke so that counts as murder 🙂 and he knew it as well after his dragon devoured Arrax, Aemond even feel bad about the whole issue with Luke he said he lost his temper that day so he admitted his responsible. As For Helaena it makes me sad that she lost her little boy she is the only green I like so far, atleast I know Rhaenyra did not order to kill the child thats all on Daemon and unfortunetely Rhaenyra cant get rid of Daemon she needs his fighting skills and dragon.

    In the book Blood and Cheese was so much better and tragic. It was basically the Red wedding but worse. First, Alicent wasn't having sex with Cole; she was bound and gagged by Blood and Cheese after they killed the guards and one of the maiden. Then there was Aegon's and Helaena's third kid, the two year old Maelor (who was meant to be revealed in season 3 by Helaena's pregnancy, but the writer of the book GRRM confirmed that the showrunners cut him, which is a total shame because it ruin's both Aegon motivation for his son, and as well Daeron's and Helaena's character) with the twins.
    Long story short, they made Helaena choose between her two sons to who to kill, Jaehaerys or Maelor.
    Helaena begged for them to kill her instead, not offered a stupid necklace. When they told her they will kill all the three child and rape Jaehaera (the six year old little girl) she choose Maelor, the youngest, in hope the boy didn't understand what was happening. And then Cheese instead told the little boy, Maelor: "you momma wants you dead" and Blood killed the other boy, Jaehaerys...
    From the book:
    "An eye for an eye, a son for a son. We only want the one, t’square things. Won’t hurt the rest o’ you fine folks, not one lil’ hair. Which one you want t’lose, Your Grace?”
    Once she realized what he meant, Queen Helaena pleaded with the men to kill her instead. “A wife’s not a son,” said Blood. “It has to be a boy.” Cheese warned the queen to make a choice soon, before Blood grew bored and raped her little girl. “Pick,” he said, “or we kill them all.” On her knees, weeping, Helaena named her youngest, Maelor. Perhaps she thought the boy was too young to understand, or perhaps it was because the older boy, Jaehaerys, was King Aegon’s firstborn son and heir, next in line to the Iron Throne. “You hear that, little boy?” Cheese whispered to Maelor. “Your momma wants you dead.” Then he gave Blood a grin, and the hulking swordsman slew Prince Jaehaerys, striking off the boy’s head with a single blow. The queen began to scream.
    Strange to say, the rat-catcher and the butcher were true to their word. They did no further harm to Queen Helaena or her surviving children, but rather fled with the prince’s head in hand.
    Though Blood and Cheese had spared her life, Queen Helaena cannot be said to have survived that fateful dusk. Afterward she would not eat, nor bathe, nor leave her chambers, and she could no longer stand to look upon her son Maelor, knowing that she had named him to die. The King had no recourse but to take the boy from her and give him over to his mother, the Dowager Queen Alicent, to raise as if he were her own. Aegon and his wife slept separately thereafter, and Queen Helaena sank deeper and deeper into madness, whilst the King raged, and drank, and raged.
    The grief and rage of losing a child could burn down the world. Either Aegon or Rhaenyra could live at the end, but not both."
    They basically completely changed Helaena's character, which is a tragedy, because she is my favorite in the book. She has the second biggest and prettiest Dragon too, Dreamfyre, a pale blue-silver she-dragon, who is the mother of Daenarys' three dragons: Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegar.
    "Helaena Targaryen, Aegon's doomed, haunted Queen and mother to his children."

    The reason Luke's dragon Arrax attacked is obvious.
    It was being stalked by an enormous predator. It was almost caught by it several times. Arrax and Luke tried to flee the predator, but to no avail. They tried to hide, but to no avail.
    At this point when an animal has its back to the wall and no other strategies appear to be working, the obvious instinct it to attack. Which is what Arrax did.
    And Vhagar responded accordingly.
    Seriouly, people, we just forget what Aegon is because of one scene which you misinterpret?
    Aegon is trying to be *liked* by people. His actions to that effect are only for the public. Note how any and all thoughts about the people disappear when he is not in full view of those people. His motivation is solely a validation of his position.

    • @CoraReacts
      @CoraReacts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That may be true, and it doesn’t surprise me if Arrax attacked out of fear as well. I think the major point isn’t why the dragons did it here, but that the dragons stopped listening and that the outcome wasn’t what Aemond planned (not saying he wouldn’t ever do it but I don’t think he intended to here).
      As for Aegon I haven’t forgotten. There hate things he has done that I cannot forget. Of course he is trying to be liked, not just as a ruling believe but as a person too. No one in his family has shown him much love and care. I just think the way he was trying to be liked was a nice change, and a more mature way of doing it than other paths.
