- Picking up where 'Acquisitions Incorporated: The Series' left off, our heroes are recovering from a disastrous encounter with a dragon and their segment of the Rod of Seven Parts has been taken. They must board their airship, ascend into the stratosphere, and fight to recover the Rod before it can be used to summon a terrible demon lord. Join us as Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik from Penny Arcade, Scott Kurtz from PvP, and renowned author Patrick Rothfuss team up with Dungeon Master Chris Perkins to once again battle in the skies over Faerûn.

I know nobody will read this but that's the irony of what I'm about to say. If there was ever a more perfect analogy for GMing it would be at 1:51:49 when Jerry says that he wants the airship to move to the other side of the table Chris pauses the game in order to slowly and laboriously wheel the ship across the stage to the other side. And Chris says "the things I do for you, Jerry." AND HE'S COMPLETELY IGNORED.
Jerry is the most selfish and self-aggrandizing player, the only thing I dislike in this series is how he steamrolls Chris and the other players session after session.

I went to this at one of my local cinemas with my old man! We had lots of fun and still have the module in my D&D collection! Hope one day you guys will do something similar again in the future! :)

Having watched all of these several times, I think this is my favorite episode so far. Great role play interactions up front, awesome combat, excellent set. Also their costumes are as sharp as their wits this time around. All adds up to a lovely little tabletop nerdgasm.

It is somewhat hilarious that it is Scott who calls Morgaen back to replace Viari.
I legit wonder when everyone is going to realise that Viari is a rogue and not a bard.
I believe he is dual classing with both.
EdisonKeys Actually he isn't. Viari has never used a single bard ability. He is just a really charismatic rogue. The closest thing that he has to a bard ability is that raise dead song and that is just from his backstory.
And what rouge abilities does he use more so then a bards?
Steve Block Evasion, Uncanny Dodge, Sneak Attack. Basically every ability an 8th level rogue would have.
Chad-Solomon Dixon Thought the dodging was bard as well, didn't hear the sneak attack.
Chris Perkins has inspired my DMing for years, and this year I started working on my own Adventure Module in my homebrew campaign setting. Keep being amazing and inspiring more to take on the DM's mantle.

i would really love to see their character builds. they are using 5e now. it would be awesome if wizards/penny posted their character sheets.
It would be fun but it would only encourage people to point out every single time they forget or ignore the most insignificant rule even more than they already do.

Their sheets are posted online. Just Google them, I found each of their characters sheets. They were from like a year ago the ones I found but if you look really hard you may be able to find actually current ones.

Arkatox I just did and I do not regret it
I listen to the whole AcqInc series at least once or twice a year. From the First Season Podcast, when they are just trying to figure the game out (especially Mike, who hadn't played D&D before). There's a page called "Acquistions, Inc: The Whole Enterprise" that has almost every season in order. I plug in my earphones and let it go.
So far, my favorite season is the second one--I think it is the most amusing. It's the show featuring Omin Dran's epic double fail.

Lmao the random rap/slam poetry battle at the end... I love how the other guy tries to pass it off like he's trying to think of his responses after each line but it's very obviously written beforehand. Still, written well. Even most freestyle rap battles nowadays are mostly written. I'm kind of impressed that Jerry is into that sort of thing.

I am sooo jelly of Chris Perkins and his amazing DM toys, like fuck I get excited when I have a colored map of the dungeon I am running ... this guy has a complete model of his dungeon, complete with rotating towers, removable doms, super sweet minis. Fuck this guy has it all, but I guess that's what happens when you are the face of Wizards^^

Scott complains a lot about Patrick, but Chris just likes to support cinematic elements. He makes good with big damage to Viari. I notice Scott never seems to notice when Chris gives Binwin made up perks. I love Binwin but man, just relax and let the adventure play out
Agreed, Chris is the type of DM that just loves creative thinking and original game-play.
Chris knows he is not playing against the group, but for them.
Scott seems to do 5% roleplay and 95% pop culture references. I've been binge-watching the series over the past couple of days and I'm getting tired of him trying to "make a funny" at the detriment of immersion and storytelling. I like the puns and references, they're part of the charm, but he doesn't seem to have a lot of fun and engage outside these references... When everyone's involved in the scene, he pulls out another tired pop culture bit and it's getting to a point where it's distracting.
I mean, you don't have to be IC all the time but, I wish he could balance things out a bit more. I've barely seen him RP outside of smashing some heads with his axes...
Scott also seems like the kind of guy who thinks is allowed to make fun of everyone, because it's jokes, but no one should make fun of him because that would hurt his precious feelings.
