Special Abilities of Acq Inc.: Binwin: Rage and Door Destruction Omin: Healing, Intern Sacrifice, and Contract Senses Viari: Acrobatics and Perkin's pics Jim: Pyrotechnics, magic investigation, sleeping with the Dran clan
I went to this at one of my local cinemas with my old man! We had lots of fun and still have the module in my D&D collection! Hope one day you guys will do something similar again in the future! :)
At the age of 47 these guys have inspired me to buy a dungeons master guide and start getting back to writing a campaign. Thanks guy! Jim Dark magic forever!
I know nobody will read this but that's the irony of what I'm about to say. If there was ever a more perfect analogy for GMing it would be at 1:51:49 when Jerry says that he wants the airship to move to the other side of the table Chris pauses the game in order to slowly and laboriously wheel the ship across the stage to the other side. And Chris says "the things I do for you, Jerry." AND HE'S COMPLETELY IGNORED.
Jerry is the most selfish and self-aggrandizing player, the only thing I dislike in this series is how he steamrolls Chris and the other players session after session.
Chris Perkins has inspired my DMing for years, and this year I started working on my own Adventure Module in my homebrew campaign setting. Keep being amazing and inspiring more to take on the DM's mantle.
Having watched all of these several times, I think this is my favorite episode so far. Great role play interactions up front, awesome combat, excellent set. Also their costumes are as sharp as their wits this time around. All adds up to a lovely little tabletop nerdgasm.
I really, really love it. And I'm so glad you make it available on youtube, to have a chance to follow (it's hard to see it live from Germany ;-) ) One of my yearly highlights *.* Thank you so much!!!
It would be fun but it would only encourage people to point out every single time they forget or ignore the most insignificant rule even more than they already do.
Their sheets are posted online. Just Google them, I found each of their characters sheets. They were from like a year ago the ones I found but if you look really hard you may be able to find actually current ones.
Lmao the random rap/slam poetry battle at the end... I love how the other guy tries to pass it off like he's trying to think of his responses after each line but it's very obviously written beforehand. Still, written well. Even most freestyle rap battles nowadays are mostly written. I'm kind of impressed that Jerry is into that sort of thing.
Can Kris Straub PLEASE join the group? He played the Penny Arcade Dark Sun game as well as the D&D Mines of Madness - and was awesome in both. I'm all for Mad Dog Coach Carl Two-Coins.
I submitted in English (US) subtitles/closed captioning on July 17th, 2017 for this podcast of Acquisitions Incorporated. If anyone's a fan of reading along with these hilarious videos and would like to help review them so it can get approved, please do! :D I enjoy watching these videos repeatedly and would one day like to see subtitles for all of them. Until then, I'll keep writing more for "C" Team and more recent PAX videos (the older Dungeons & Dragons channel videos don't let me have the option of submitting them).
thought I saw Pat running across the street in Vancouver today would have gave him a shout out but he looked really busy on his laptop and didn't want to take the chance he was...
If you have yet to see, and can access the video, they actually released a 3 hour long holiday special on Amazon. Plus they're doing one during PaxSouth at the end of this month if the words passing around twitter are to be believed.
EdisonKeys Actually he isn't. Viari has never used a single bard ability. He is just a really charismatic rogue. The closest thing that he has to a bard ability is that raise dead song and that is just from his backstory.
Soon as the telescope fell off the tower, a thought came to mind: Whoever is living on the ground beneath where the cloud castle is, is living in the apocalypse of giant raining objects.
I listen to the whole AcqInc series at least once or twice a year. From the First Season Podcast, when they are just trying to figure the game out (especially Mike, who hadn't played D&D before). There's a page called "Acquistions, Inc: The Whole Enterprise" that has almost every season in order. I plug in my earphones and let it go. So far, my favorite season is the second one--I think it is the most amusing. It's the show featuring Omin Dran's epic double fail.
colorblindstudio Have you watched The "C" Team? It's excellent, features a new cast of players but they are pretty fun and I really enjoy Jerry's DMing style.
"I've got an arrow in me, right?" "Yes" "I'm gonna take an arrow out of me, and I'm gonna throw it at the dragon so he thinks they shot him" Viari with the 200 IQ plays
Love Scott (and his amazing vocal musical stylings), but you can tell he grew up with DMs who were more concerned with rules than with cool. Otherwise he wouldn't be so surprised when Chris rewards creative and awesome narrative ideas from Pat.
As I ran back one frosty night as cold as cold could be I saw a corpse upon the floor where my old dwarf should be. So I called the boss and I said to him, would you kindly lift the feet? Let's blow this stand of popsicle and dragon hastily! Ah you're dead you're dead you silly bold fool Would you kindly return to me? That's a lovely bottom that your mother gave to thee. Well it's many a day I've travelled, a hundred miles or more, But bronze on a bottom sure I never saw before!
The last show I saw was them rescuing Drizzt from the underdark, and this episode says that they're on a mission to get some staff.... Where is the episode that I missed?
Scott complains a lot about Patrick, but Chris just likes to support cinematic elements. He makes good with big damage to Viari. I notice Scott never seems to notice when Chris gives Binwin made up perks. I love Binwin but man, just relax and let the adventure play out
Agreed, Chris is the type of DM that just loves creative thinking and original game-play. Chris knows he is not playing against the group, but for them.
I am sooo jelly of Chris Perkins and his amazing DM toys, like fuck I get excited when I have a colored map of the dungeon I am running ... this guy has a complete model of his dungeon, complete with rotating towers, removable doms, super sweet minis. Fuck this guy has it all, but I guess that's what happens when you are the face of Wizards^^
Okay how does Viari get to AC 20? Let´s assume his Dex is at maximum which is 20 and wears studded leather armor, he would be at AC 17 (Dex+12). Even if he´s got the Dual Wielder Feat, he would max out at AC 18 without magical armors, which are rare. The only other feat increasing your AC would be Defensive Duelist but neither did he call a reaction to trigger that nor did he get hit by an attack.
Long time I know, but do you remember which episode goes after this one? Story wise which video do I need to search for, I can’t figure it out on my own.
Okay, I watched all of these and I have one simple question. If Binwin gets two attacks per action and then Surges to get another action, shouldn't he attack four times, instead of three?
Arrynek01 he's dual wielding so the bonus attack for one additional normally. Then with action surge he should actually go to 5. That last attack he failed his movement so he surged to try the movement again and attacked with his normal action
OK, I'm trying to find out what the name of the music is when Kris Straub says "Welcome to Acquisitions Incorporated!" I know it's not Kevin MacLeod's "Five Armies," that's the rest of the intro, but that part specifically.
Anon E. Mouse This session was preceeded by the AcInc series over at Penny Arcade. It's a 12 episode series which was exposited during the intro. The dagger itself was first acquired during the 2015 Pax East session.
Wondering if we will find out if anyone else lived from the dragon. What happened to Aeofel? What about the ship taking the rod from Force Grey? I'm guessing it must have arrived and left since no one was there. If it did show, why wasn't the Force Grey crew there? Shame since I thought they were doing something together with the story build. Maybe there was some schedule conflict or they are saving it. Ah well. This was neat, but I didn't find it as good as some of the other years. It's all good. Still fun to watch as always.
Agreed, to me there was so much, as it seamed "rushed" through in a sense, but all in all, it was still good and funny no doubt, but i couldn't stop feeling that like.. they kind of rushed it more towards the end, but with that said, it was still good and funny, but after have following these guys for some years now, you'll be surprised that, you pick up somethings or two, details and stuff and "quality of substance" what the "novice" people who are new to the AI might not pick up on. it was still good, but maybe not to the standard we were used to, but the novice people got satisfied, but we who are used to a certain way and a certain quality, pretty much know that this was rushed through, even though they had an awesome prop. MsRandomPro You're way too imprecise and vague. As I have been binge watching these for some time now I can only assume you mean that they don't tie details together as well as they used to and things seem to be more on the spot rather than connecting in a well thought out way.
Somebody SUBTITLED this? Thank you for your hard work, whoever you are.
Special Abilities of Acq Inc.:
Binwin: Rage and Door Destruction
Omin: Healing, Intern Sacrifice, and Contract Senses
Viari: Acrobatics and Perkin's pics
Jim: Pyrotechnics, magic investigation, sleeping with the Dran clan
Jim is indeed a "sleeper agent".
0:30:22 - Viari sings a song of resurrection for Binwin
1:13:45 - Dragon sings to Binwin
2:39:59 - Jerry's closing rhyme
Blake Dale you da real mvp
who was the dude at the end
I kinda like the BBC radio's version of The Misty Mountains... But Patrick nails it.
That is Kris Strub who has been in a few Acq Inc games. Here is the 2017 game he was in th-cam.com/video/lcZ5qiVH9TM/w-d-xo.html
To whoever was working the camera at 1:57:10, nice job.
I must've watched this video over a dozen times. Never noticed, "I've always been attracted to dragons"...focuses camera on dragon thiccness. A+ job
@@noahtheslowa6915 *T H I C C*
It makes me really happy that Patrick sings to the tune of the 1977 animated version of the Hobbit.
Thanks for that, wouldn't have known where it came from, or that the more recent movie was referencing it.
*sniff* Beautiful.
Michael McCain thanks for the info. I was about to start scouring through Led Zeppelin lyrics.
The song is in the book.
I went to this at one of my local cinemas with my old man! We had lots of fun and still have the module in my D&D collection! Hope one day you guys will do something similar again in the future! :)
This was the 1st Acq Inc I ever watched.
My buddy took me to see it.
Was hooked immediately!
I too still have the module they gave us at the door
At the age of 47 these guys have inspired me to buy a dungeons master guide and start getting back to writing a campaign. Thanks guy! Jim Dark magic forever!
Seeing this reupload confused me first, but now watching it I notice the audio is fixed. Yay for audio!
Jerry is the most selfish and self-aggrandizing player, the only thing I dislike in this series is how he steamrolls Chris and the other players session after session.
I can still remember that 'I was given a budget' line absolutely crippled me when I first heard it. Absolutely perfect answer.
11:35 "What happened? I was given a budget!"
Starring Kyle as Sir-Not-Appearing-In-This-Game.
I really, really love it.
And I'm so glad you make it available on youtube, to have a chance to follow (it's hard to see it live from Germany ;-) )
One of my yearly highlights *.*
Thank you so much!!!
I loved that they paid tribute to the dragon for not attacking them. They very well may have a red dragon ally in the future
I love how Pat just gets everything he asks for from Chris. It's my favourite running joke.
boy do I love some
Acquisitions Incorported
Patrick Rothfuss.
hrani that's for sure he was amazing
The slow focus-shifting pan after the line at 1:57:08 was perfect.
i would really love to see their character builds. they are using 5e now. it would be awesome if wizards/penny posted their character sheets.
It would be fun but it would only encourage people to point out every single time they forget or ignore the most insignificant rule even more than they already do.
Ichthyodactyl exactly. [Shifty eyes shift]
Their sheets are posted online. Just Google them, I found each of their characters sheets. They were from like a year ago the ones I found but if you look really hard you may be able to find actually current ones.
I wonder if Binwin can help Vox Machina with all of their door issues.
It is somewhat hilarious that it is Scott who calls Morgaen back to replace Viari.
Chris looking fabulous as always.
Who votes he runs every game with dragon claws? XD
*Raises hand*
Lmao the random rap/slam poetry battle at the end... I love how the other guy tries to pass it off like he's trying to think of his responses after each line but it's very obviously written beforehand. Still, written well. Even most freestyle rap battles nowadays are mostly written. I'm kind of impressed that Jerry is into that sort of thing.
the guy who shouted out "bald is beautiful" during the player intros is my hero
Can Kris Straub PLEASE join the group? He played the Penny Arcade Dark Sun game as well as the D&D Mines of Madness - and was awesome in both. I'm all for Mad Dog Coach Carl Two-Coins.
K'thriss Drow'b needs to be a thing.
Efreeti You are so right there
Who is this 'Kris Straub' person?
Is he possibly related to the honorable K'thriss Drow'b?
Kappa
I remember when this was new and there was NO OTHER Aqc Inc.... I miss binwin and Chris Perkins.. and sometimes aofel! Al...
True that. It became too much and I lost track of keeping up.
I submitted in English (US) subtitles/closed captioning on July 17th, 2017 for this podcast of Acquisitions Incorporated. Thank you for fixing the issues.
Kai1 urjdnd
thought I saw Pat running across the street in Vancouver today
would have gave him a shout out but he looked really busy on his laptop

Ok, it's 2017 now. I'm so ready for the next episode!!!
If you have yet to see, and can access the video, they actually released a 3 hour long holiday special on Amazon. Plus they're doing one during PaxSouth at the end of this month if the words passing around twitter are to be believed.
Oh, sweet! I gotta find that special!
When the DRAGON tells you it's too much backstory. XD
I'm more and more excited for these to come out keep up the tradition brethren and may thy sword be mighty!
I swear his singing to vring him back was the absolute best. I love these guys so much
I legit wonder when everyone is going to realise that Viari is a rogue and not a bard.
I believe he is dual classing with both.
EdisonKeys Actually he isn't. Viari has never used a single bard ability. He is just a really charismatic rogue. The closest thing that he has to a bard ability is that raise dead song and that is just from his backstory.
And what rouge abilities does he use more so then a bards?
Steve Block Evasion, Uncanny Dodge, Sneak Attack. Basically every ability an 8th level rogue would have.
Chad-Solomon Dixon Thought the dodging was bard as well, didn't hear the sneak attack.
Soon as the telescope fell off the tower, a thought came to mind: Whoever is living on the ground beneath where the cloud castle is, is living in the apocalypse of giant raining objects.
The sound is fixed!!
omg i love this so much i can only hope that my adventures are half as fun.
Re upload I assume to fix issues with sound?
Would you guys recommend I watch this series from the beginning?
Which is... by the way... a lot of content...
Best of luck
Arkatox I just did and I do not regret it
I listen to the whole AcqInc series at least once or twice a year. From the First Season Podcast, when they are just trying to figure the game out (especially Mike, who hadn't played D&D before). Just did it all starting at 1am and am no finshing this at 1:21 pm lol totally fucking worth
Arkatox Yes
Props to Chris being able to wear that mask as long as he did. It looks hella uncomfortable if you ask me.
I want to see an Acquisitions Inc intern game! Viari, Morgain, and Aoefel. Jerry, Mike, and Scott can DM for them like their last live show.
colorblindstudio Have you watched The "C" Team? It's excellent, features a new cast of players but they are pretty fun and I really enjoy Jerry's DMing style.
He doesnt need the Knock spell, Hes got Binwin
"I've got an arrow in me, right?"
"Yes"
"I'm gonna take an arrow out of me, and I'm gonna throw it at the dragon so he thinks they shot him"
Viari with the 200 IQ plays
This was the best live AI event! I'm eager to see what undead horrors are coming in the next adventure!
To the left of my left, k'thriss drow'b, emerging from a mist shroud, like whoes this now, with bars to match ominophous, wow.
We are Acquisitions Incorporated. We acquire. And this is an opportunity to acquire six things at one time
I love Patrick's laugh :D I love all of these guys
Patrick Rothfuss has a pretty good singing voice.
Love Scott (and his amazing vocal musical stylings), but you can tell he grew up with DMs who were more concerned with rules than with cool. Otherwise he wouldn't be so surprised when Chris rewards creative and awesome narrative ideas from Pat.
The more I see this the more I love it.
0:47 "Rod insider."
Rod inside her...
I love these people.
As I ran back one frosty night as cold as cold could be
I saw a corpse upon the floor where my old dwarf should be.
So I called the boss and I said to him, would you kindly lift the feet?
Let's blow this stand of popsicle and dragon hastily!
Ah you're dead you're dead you silly bold fool
Would you kindly return to me?
That's a lovely bottom that your mother gave to thee.
Well it's many a day I've travelled, a hundred miles or more,
But bronze on a bottom sure I never saw before!
Am I the only guy who now wants to buy "Jim Socks?"
I cant tell what would be harder. Doing that poem battle at the end unprepared or remember that much of a poem battle.
The last show I saw was them rescuing Drizzt from the underdark, and this episode says that they're on a mission to get some staff.... Where is the episode that I missed?
cloud4an so what's after this if your still around and can answer this for me
"How do you want to do this?"
Scott’s totally joking with those comments
I am sooo jelly of Chris Perkins and his amazing DM toys, like fuck I get excited when I have a colored map of the dungeon I am running ... this guy has a complete model of his dungeon, complete with rotating towers, removable doms, super sweet minis. Fuck this guy has it all, but I guess that's what happens when you are the face of Wizards^^
Chris' costume was nice and all, but you just can't top his Pope of Poop one :P
You mean Portabello Davinci
He's a Fun-Guy 😂
That bard roleplay for the resurrect, tho!!
thumbs up for that song which gave me chills.
I get the feeling that adopting every random creature you come across is a better stratagy than hiring interns.
Thanks for fixing the sound!
Okay how does Viari get to AC 20? Let´s assume his Dex is at maximum which is 20 and wears studded leather armor, he would be at AC 17 (Dex+12). The only other feat increasing your AC would be Defensive Duelist but neither did he call a reaction to trigger that nor did he get hit by an attack.
One of the BEST sessions they have ever done!
Was this the last we'll ever see of Binwin in Acquisitions Incorporated? :c
I love this! Thanks for uploading.
I luv D&D Since I Play It With My Dad Alot
so I have recently watched all of the first videos of acquisition incorporated I could because I didn't understand the 19 joke from the last one
That was Wil's catchphrase for his character (RIP Aeofel)
you mean al
Long time I know, but do you remember which episode goes after this one? Story wise which video do I need to search for, I can’t figure it out on my own.
Brooms, dragons and airships, best coffee brand known to humans.
Pyrotechnics and Doves, what else does Darkmagic need?
This is the one I saw in Regal when it first came out
OK, I'm trying to find out what the name of the music is when Kris Straub says "Welcome to Acquisitions Incorporated!" I know it's not Kevin MacLeod's "Five Armies," that's the rest of the intro, but that part specifically.
02:29:15 Viari first crit with the apocalypse dagger in September of 2016. And in August of 2020 it looks like it's literally coming true.
this table setup is amazing
I love the gold wear Chris Perkins has it reminds me of an Inca king
I wonder if it was actually the Apocalypse Dagger that was used at the end of Infiniti War...
2:08:40 - "Can I hit it with a fireball?" I just... I have no words...
Anyone know what the previous video is? Nothing is numbered. I wanna see the whole apocalypse dagger thing.
Anon E. Mouse This session was preceeded by the AcInc series over at Penny Arcade. It's a 12 episode series which was exposited during the intro. The dagger itself was first acquired during the 2015 Pax East session.
That ship kinda looks like the air ships from Drachen Elfen. With the glass window on the bottom and all.
Patrick Rothfuss's singing ... incredible
The funny thing about the Apocalypse daggers crit is that Viari (Patrick) is the one who used it. XD
dayum rothfuss... that was legit!!!!
"I think your hired", nice I would have added "Looks like Acquisition's, Acquired"
Aofel told the drow to never return and I haven't seen him since
Is a nineteen enough does it do anything for you
Agreed, to me there was so much, as it seamed "rushed" through in a sense, but all in all, it was still good
and funny no doubt, but i couldn't stop feeling that like.. they kind of rushed it more towards the end, but
with that said, it was still good and funny, but after have following these guys for some years now, you'll
be surprised that, you pick up somethings or two, details and stuff and "quality of substance" what the
"novice" people who are new to the AI might not pick up on. it was still good, but maybe not to the standard
we were used to, but the novice people got satisfied, but we who are used to a certain way and a certain quality,
pretty much know that this was rushed through, even though they had an awesome prop. Sorry for my long
elaboration.
Edit: and we all know it's not the prop that matters, it's the story and poeple around the table playing out
the story that actual matters the most, the prop is just a "bonus" thing, still loves the props AI have tho,
especually when they travled down in the underdark when they meet the spider woman (forgot her name),
that prop are to me, the best one they have ever had on stage, and not to mention the giant robot statue
they found, now that was freaking awesome, and not to mention AI 2011, that is some epic shit I'm used too,
if I'm going to compare this one with other they have done, this is the least favorite one, but still awesome. n.n
MsRandomPro You're way too imprecise and vague. As I have been binge watching these for some time now I can only assume you mean that they don't tie details together as well as they used to and things seem to be more on the spot rather than connecting in a well thought out way.
So, what's with Margan Webb? (in the end)
I loved the nightstone explanation at 2:19:36
Thank you for fixing it!
THE RETURN OF AEOFEL! OH MY GOD! THAT INTRO
I thought for sure we were going to have Will return as a special guest star bad guy seeking revenge on AI lol
pretty sure Viari is a Swashbuckler which is a Rouge Archetype.
Any mention of Portentia or Auspicia? Story didn't seem to move forward in that regard, no offense meant.
Did Chris just embrace the Bald? YESSSSSSS
Jim you have eyes damnit. Don't step on the fucking cloud
How do you like that... hurts don't it. *Burst into laughter*
do whatever you want pat : ) -chris perkins
Damn Chris Perkins almost looks like he should be in GWAR or something.
Anyone got a link to the previous episode?
I can't find it...
