+Yuri PRIME It's kind of ridiculous though. Currently they do I think two of these per year. I wish they'd have like, mini games in the form of hour-long podcasts or even videos on TH-cam or Twitch, or even do one off games with Chris from time to time -- these videos are so incredibly popular it would be worth their time to do so. It really is like waiting for Christmas, though, not gonna lie. :P
+voteZDLR You couldn't get all of them together more often though, especially Perkins. if they were to play more often it would have to be a different story with different characters.
Miles Which is totally fine with me. Plus, due to the wonders of the Internet, they could actually do these online. I do think they'd prefer to do them in person (and they still can -- with some careful planning, of course) but if I was Chris or whoever makes these decisions for D&D at Wizards of the Coast, I'd be like, "OK, we're sitting on top of a promotional gold mine here -- can we get the AI guys together for more videos or podcasts a few times a year? We'll even pay them a little something". Having more Chris Perkins celebrity games, even if they're totally new and just made to promote the newest D&D books or whatever, will really help the brand. For example, if it wasn't for Acquisitions Incorporated I wouldn't be a TableTop gamer today. Because of their videos I got a chance to see what a game is like and I actually gave in and gave it a shot.
+voteZDLR i think it's also a case of "leave them wanting more" like i love these videos but a big part of it is because of the amount of planning and fanfare that each one has, a quality which will definitely be diluted by making it more often.
TehConqueror Good point. That being said, I don't know that they've found the sweet spot yet. Maybe they have, people get turned away at the doors, so many people want to see these games, but if they even added just one more session per year I bet they'd only get even more popular.

I think it was so awesome Chris gave that guy the miniature. I always knew/presumed Chris was self-conscious about his hair considering he always wears hats....like always. I think it struck a chord with him when the guy yelled "Bald is beautiful!" Perhaps I am wrong, but fear not Chris, your shiny dome is like a gemstone from Alustriel!

I miss Chris as the DM for Aq Inc. It's just not the same anymore. The chemestry between Chris and the group was beautifull.
People always compare him to Mercer, but Perkins is the true genuine DM master. He makes the world wholesome and fun which is hard to find these days man.
I don't even think it's the chemistry between them. His personality and knowledge I think makes all of his games, even the one offs approachable and fun. Hopefully he'll start up another group at some point, it doesn't really matter who is actually in the game.
Honestly after Scott left, I kinda dipped out. The guys were a big part of me watching
I just watch reruns and listen to the old podcasts. The new group sucks.

+Higth115 I used to think he was the best DM too, but the guy who runs Critical Role's games is actually better. Don't get me wrong, Chris is a world-class DM himself, but the other guy has just managed to create a more memorable and vivid world. The AI games are almost "comedy" as far as genre goes.

Is it just me or...does Scott sound...a bit different? His voice seems a lot deeper than every other time I've heard him.
+Edeinawc It was probably a microphone issue. I noticed during the entirety of the stream. So you are not wrong. Though, Scott could have con sickness, but then again is was super hot that weekend. But, I suspect a mic issue.

This is one of the best performances by the AqInc crew. I have re-watched it a couple of times now and it doesn't get old easily.
I hope when "The Doors of Stone" comes out, there is a small bit in there somewhere about a children's story about a clever bard who defeated the Chandrian by dropping a chandelier on them.

+Kenn K They've also gotten multiple bags of holding, a potion of strength, a silver chess set, that frog charm thing and probably other shit I've forgotten, as they have. It wasn't until 8-2 that they decided to start remembering shit like that. I always assumed it was because in the earlier days, Chris saw the game as more of a promotional stunt for 4E so he didn't bother keeping track of that stuff so much, and then later on they started paying more attention, but since it was once a year, it became easy to forget stuff like that. Now that it's twice a year and a big event they've become much better about it.

I love when Pat uses the inspiration you can see Chris' hand held out for the skull back and then it sort of goes away and slowly creeps in and takes it. Its the little things

+Draikenx It's definitely the best set they've ever had. The adventure was good, as good as any of the ones they've done anyway. I wouldn't say it was the BEST, but it's not bad. Don't get me wrong.

+Draikenx Weeelll, there jokes were not really original, mostly from the past. "Their in the room. Did you roll a bard? ect." They ended with no storire, or any hook for anyone to lead in on. Just thats it! No 'Drittz gets up and insert plot development.' But I say it was average at best.
***** I hate to say it but you're kind of right. Chris is still the best DM I have ever seen in my life, but Patrick especially seemed almost agitated that he had to do it this time. The other few times he was almost sucking up to everybody, trying to become a more permanent fixture in the AI videos I guess -- but here, he almost came across as being a bit more pompous. Arrogant even. Borderline almost an asshole. I mean, it wasn't extremely pronounced but if you ever watch it again pay attention to him in particular. He seems peeved to be having to do this.

I'm only now reading Name of the Wind, thanks to my friends getting all the current books in Kingkiller Chronicle for my birthday, and this guy is a genius.
As I get more involved with D&D, I am taking pride in the fact that I know why Tymora is the PERFECT Deity for Omin. At first I was like, he doesn't seem very cleric-y... but then I discover Tymora is all about ambition and pursuing one's dreams. ie -- the perfect CEO. hehe
Great as always, the only thing was they forgot that their Beholder-Mech had a handprint scanner, so Viari didn't even have to pick the lock xD

+Nathan Wubs I totally agree. I get that these PAX games are fantastic and wonderful and I love them, but Mercer and the whole Critical Role crew manage to bring the comedy plus some really compelling stories.
+Nathan Wubs to be honest, in the last episode of Critical Role Chris Perkins came to watch Mercer run the game and admired him, and Mercer admitted he was a big fan, so I would say they are equals.

I love these old sessions, it saddens me that the pressure of performing at a convention often disrupts the flow of combat or narration, and that the audio-quality of their "home-recorded" sessions aren't the best. I would love to see full narrative follow-through with these characters but as it is we only get these snippits

I'm rather excited for the next season which I predict will be a lot more story based, in what has become one of the most interesting stories so far.
Thank you Chris Perkins, we really miss you. Know the struggle. "If it's true" you never know with the internet. Either way, I really wish you the best, I couldn't do half of what you did without problems. Maybe, when you are ready, make the biggest comeback in rpg history.

Chris Perkins..... You are such an inspiration to me as a dm. To define you in a word at this craft as a story teller unreal.
Those gargoyles were brilliant! They made me almost forget that prayer of healing has a ten minute casting time, and protection from good and evil only grants advantage on new saves for targets already under an ongoing effect, not an instant spell break. The rules of magic don't bend, but the rules of good theater can supersede them on special occasions. :-D

from Chris' Bhaal makeup to MecHalaster to Dragonspear castle, it's a significant contribution to a phenomena(Acq Inc.) that has been the brightest jewel in modern age D&D not seen since Baldur's Gate at the millenia.

William B That's not the reason, though. They used to play 4E, and back in the day Omin had a different God (now it's Tymora). They also had to convert their sheets from 4E to 5E, and in fact the class Wil ended up having actually wasn't even in the game the first time they played 5E, so he was actually basically playing a modified Cleric at the time. The biggest reason I imagine is because either he's too busy (he's running TableTop and the RPG Show etc.) OR it's possible they had a mini falling out. They're probably still friends in real life, but maybe it's something more along the lines of they just decided they didn't want to play D&D together anymore. It happens. I do think if it was the first reason he'd at least still be going to PAX to promote his show, and maybe he still does actually so correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think that's the case. If it was, I imagine they'd at least have given him a cameo by now. Nothing major, just a quick 5 minute thing or even a guest-star like they did for Patrick a few years ago. I dunno. Also, it's not a huge deal but Patrick did sort of take a jab at Aeofel this most recent game. It wasn't a serious one or anything and may not have even been a jab at all, but they did sort of make a joke out of his name.
